Had dinner at 1559 AD and it was a beautiful fine dining experience. The ambience is elegant, calm and perfectly set for a premium evening. ✨ Tried the Veg Rajasthani Thali and Laal Maas with steamed rice. The thali was absolutely delicious — full of flavors, easily a 5/5. 💯 Laal Maas was great too (4.5/5), though maybe the thali set the bar too high and we were already full by then 😄 Overall, a highly recommended place if you’re looking for a refined dining experience in Udaipur.

The food was absolutely mouth-watering—authentic, rich in flavor, and perfectly prepared. What truly made the night special was the world-class hospitality. A huge thanks to Kamlesh, Tejander Singh, Manish Singh, and Mahendar Singh for their professional and attentive service. They went above and beyond to ensure every detail of our meal was perfect. Beautiful heritage restaurant near Fateh Sagar with lovely garden seating and live music in the evenings. The Lal Maas here is outstanding ‘rich, authentic and perfectly cooked’. We also had the non veg Rajasthani thali, which was generous and very flavourful. Great ambience without being overly formal and prices are reasonable for the experience. Definitely one of the best places in Udaipur for traditional Rajasthani cuisine.

L’ambiente del ristorante è molto accogliente, in quanto il ristorante si trova all’interno di una vecchia villa coloniale della seconda metà del 1500, circondata da un giardino lussureggiante e addobbata con marmi meravigliosi. Abbiamo pranzato sotto al porticato, con ottimi piatti preparati per noi utilizzando solo poche spezie. Il riso con la verdura era ottima, così come le zuppe e il piatto misto con le specialità del Rajasthan. Buono anche il caffè! Posto molto pulito bagno in ordine, servizio rapido, cordiale e simpatico, davvero consigliato.

We visited 1559 AD on 7th March 2026 with high expectations, drawn in by the promise of a royal dining experience — but what we got was far from it. Food: The dishes were overwhelmingly spicy, with little balance or finesse in the flavours. The paneer, which should be a highlight of any Rajasthani menu, tasted off and left us genuinely wondering about its freshness. To top it off, the water bottle served to us had a strange, unusual taste — which is honestly the last thing you want when you’re already struggling with the spice. Service: Slow and inattentive. We waited far too long to be served, and it wasn’t even a particularly busy evening. For a restaurant that charges premium prices, the service standard was well below par. Ambience: We were seated in the outdoor dining area, which sounds romantic in theory — except we spent most of the meal swatting away small insects swarming from the nearby mango flowering trees. No effort was made by the staff to address this or offer us alternative seating. Live Music: The restaurant prominently advertises live music and singing online — a big selling point. In reality, it played sporadically, kept stopping mid-performance, and added more frustration than atmosphere. Don’t let that be a reason to choose this place. Value for Money: Absolutely not worth it. The pricing reflects a fine dining experience; the reality does not. You’re paying for a reputation that the restaurant is clearly struggling to live up to. Save your money and your evening — Udaipur has far better options that actually deliver on their promise.

What a beautiful restaurant !! Stunning inside and outside. Came for light lunch ( chocolate brownie shake , Caesar salad although is just a salad, and chicken satay - very fresh, with peanut butter) would come back again

Our driver recommended us this restaurant during our stay in udaipur. It was very nice. The food was amazing, the service was incredible and the atmosphere was soft and lovely. We really enjoyed our experience dining here.

Like literally their service is like 1559 , to get a bottle of water they took 10 min after asking for 4 times . We ordered pizza it was not pizza but thick biscuit with cheese layer .just get bill after asking multiple time it took 12 min.

We enjoyed a hearty dinner at 1559. The Thali and Laal Maas were outstanding, and the service was truly attentive. The garden and terrace are lovely, and the indoor area is beautifully decorated with rich tapestry. We’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in Udaipur.

We visited 1559 AD Restaurant in Udaipur for dinner, and it turned out to be a lovely experience. The ambience was really nice, with light folk live music playing in the background, adding a beautiful touch to the evening. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, and the staff were friendly and polite. However, the manager did seem a bit rude and arrogant, which was slightly off-putting. We tried Chicken Bhujma, Laal Maas, rice, and roti and all the dishes were absolutely delicious, definitely 10/10 for taste! We also ordered two cocktails Sunset and Gauva Mary. While the Gauva Mary was good, the Sunset drink wasn’t quite to our taste it was a bit too sweet and the mix of pineapple and orange gave us a slight cold. The restaurant has good parking space, and the washrooms were clean, which added to the comfort. Price-wise, it’s a luxury dining place, so the rates are on the higher side, but worth it for the quality of food. Here’s what we ordered: • Laal Maas – ₹600 • Chicken Bhujma – ₹375 • Gauva Mary cocktail – ₹350 • Sunset cocktail – ₹350 • Rice and roti (don’t recall the exact price) Overall, we loved the place and will surely visit again. Giving it 5 stars mainly for the taste of the food the drink and the manager were minor negatives, but easy to overlook given the overall experience.

Discovered 1559 AD near Fateh Sagar Lake in Udaipur and it was an absolute gem for authentic Rajasthani non-veg delights! The baati keema stole the show—crispy, rustic baatis stuffed with richly spiced minced meat that offered a perfect twist on the classic dal baati, bursting with bold flavors yet comforting in every bite. Paired with their signature laal maans, featuring tender mutton in a fiery, aromatic red gravy made with traditional spices, and served alongside soft, pillowy naan that soaked up the gravy like a dream—it was a feast that transported us straight to Rajasthan’s heart.

Although this is one of those unmissable spots mentioned in nearly every travelogue, I must admit the experience felt a little underwhelming. The service didn’t quite meet our expectations, and the food, while decent, didn’t truly wow us. Given the reputation of the place, we were hoping for something more memorable.

A high class restaurant indeed. Amazing selection of foods & drinks, both local and international. We had one of the best Biryanis of our life. Even the Banana fritters was the best I’ve ever tried from anywhere else in the world. Super kind and attentive waiters all around, with their smily faces and genuine service. Beautiful local entertainment (music) and such a gorgeous atmosphere. We just had a great date night here. The items are a bit pricy, but definitely matches the level of service and quality provided. Everything is top-notch here.They do accept walk-ins too. Thank you Team & highly recommended.
