The receptionists at the hospital lacked information about the services provided, or perhaps the sonographer was unwilling to examine their patients. This morning, I encountered a receptionist who was not aware that the hospital no longer offered a particular service. My doctor, not affiliated with this hospital, had recommended that I take my grandmother here for a blood test and ultrasound. I arrived in the morning because both tests required an empty stomach. The receptionist informed me that the blood sample could be taken immediately, but the ultrasound would only be available in the evening when the doctors were present at 6 pm. I agreed to return with my grandmother, as I still needed to collect her reports. However, the receptionist in the evening informed me that they did not perform transabdominal ultrasounds at the hospital. He suggested that I could approach the gynaecologist on my own to inquire if she could perform the ultrasound. I visited the doctor and asked if she could perform an ultrasound, but she refused. Later, I went to the lab and spoke to the receptionist who was in the morning who informed me that they do offer ultrasounds. I questioned why I was told to come in the evening for the ultrasound when the hospital doesn't provide that service. Unfortunately, my grandmother didn't eat enough because she had an ultrasound as we were expecting a visit in the evening, and we couldn't go anywhere else as I had to wait for the reports. The receptionist insisted that they perform ultrasounds, causing confusion. I approached another receptionist who disagreed and mentioned that the morning receptionist was unaware, despite claiming to have worked there for 12 years. Frustrated, the first receptionist said, "پتہ نہیں ایسے مریض کہاں کہاں سے آجاتے ہیں۔" implying that I should have been informed about the lack of ultrasound services so I wouldn't have brought my sick grandmother along for no reason. I was informed by him that my reports would be ready in 3 hours and that I could wait for them, despite the fact that the hospital was about to close in 2 hours according to receptionist who was on the desk. However, unexpectedly, the reports were sent by someone else in just 20 minutes. I was unsure who to trust and who was being authentic, but the management was clearly insufficient. This was my first and unwelcome experience at the hospital, and I have no intention of returning. The entire situation was unfortunate and shocking for both me and the elderly person accompanying me. It is unclear who is in charge of this hospital, but it is essential for them to pay attention to the staff and their treatment of patients.
