We had a very bad experience at this clinic. They are completely money-oriented and this attitude is ruining even the reputation of the doctors, who otherwise seem good.
On Monday, we went for consultation. The doctor asked for scan and blood test, which we did. We already felt their charges were higher than other clinics, but because of our emergency situation we didn’t argue.
Yesterday, we went again for consultation. The doctor asked to repeat the blood test and gave us an insurance approval form. We submitted it at the reception and waited for half an hour, only to be told that insurance had rejected the request and we would need to pay 115 AED.
I immediately called my insurance company, and the reply was shocking – they confirmed that the clinic had never even raised the request for approval. In fact, they said this type of blood test is always accepted and never rejected.
When we questioned the reception staff, one man very rudely said that he himself rejected it out of his own interest. This is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Even when we complained, his behavior was arrogant and disrespectful.
This clinic is clearly misusing patients’ situations, especially during emergencies, knowing that many will pay without double-checking with insurance. This is not just unethical but also reflects very poor management.
If they want to be in healthcare, they should remember this is hospitality, not just a business. Management should seriously consider hiring staff who know how to behave with patients, because right now they are damaging the trust and goodwill that every medical center should uphold.
