Must visit place in Jaipur, truly amazing. 1. Do not take jeep, not required just a quick walk of 20 mins. 2. Do not take at the start as they are fake instead take one on top of ticket counter as they are Govt authorised one. 3. Go early to avoid crowd. Best time is 8:00

It is a grand hilltop fort-palace built in 1592 by Raja Man Singh I, and is one of Jaipur’s most iconic landmarks. We spent about an hour inside, not including the walk up/down the hill or purchasing tickets. Inside, the palace is quite maze-like, with lots of stairs and corridors. Many rooms are largely empty, with relatively few information signs for such a vast complex. Many guides are available, or can use the few signs and audio guide and wander through the empty (but stunning) rooms. Getting there is easy by tour or taxi, though traffic is incredibly intense by late morning - it took around 25 minutes to drive the final kilometre, before then climbing a large number of stairs to the ticket counter and entrance. Tickets are cash only, though there is an ATM on site. Toilets are available inside for ₹5 per use. The palace itself is undeniably impressive, but the experience was impacted by the sheer number of visitors. There were many people taking Instagram photos, including full photo shoots, which often blocked rooms and viewpoints. It’s worth visiting for the architecture, but be prepared for crowds, stairs, and a very busy atmosphere.

Stunning architecture and history. The colours of the terracotta walls are ruined in many places by black mould. Considering the climate the development of extensive black patches is understandable, but it still quite unsightly. Lovely view from the windows as well. Well worth a visit, including the surrounding little village as well.

Amer Fort, built in 1592 by Raja Man Singh I, is one of the most magnificent forts in Rajasthan and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Perched on a hill overlooking Maota Lake, the fort is a stunning blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture, with grand courtyards, palaces, temples, and gardens. Highlights include the Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace) with dazzling mirror work, the Diwan‑e-Aam (Hall of Public Audience), and the Sukh Niwas, where a clever water canal system kept the palace cool like ancient air‑conditioning. The fort’s intricate carvings, frescoes, and gateways like Ganesh Pol showcase the artistry of the era. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Jaipur and the Aravalli hills from the ramparts. The evening light and sound show brings the fort’s history alive, while elephant rides (though controversial today) were once a popular way to ascend the fort. Facilities are basic, and the climb can be tiring, but the fort’s grandeur and history make it unforgettable. Amer Fort is a majestic hilltop palace with mirror halls, cooling canals, and breathtaking views a must‑visit in Jaipur.

The palace is beautiful. With an amazing history, i would suggest you to take an elephant up the fort because it is made on a hill, it is difficult for the elderly to make the hike and also kids, because the hike can be exhausting for them. In my personal experience it looks mesmerising in the night you can see jaipur from a beautiful vantage point. Do not also miss the light show they do in the evening it’s beautiful and definitely worth a visit

Located in about 15 kms away from Jaipur Railway station, you can easily find a ride or book a rickshaw for 200 per person ( will make you visit 6-7 famous sites of jaipur ) and from the entrance of the fort there are 3 options to go in. First being the casual walk from the main entrance , second would be renting a jeep 650rs per person and the final would be once in a lifetime ride on an elephant ( charges are higher during weekends ) It is one of the biggest forts in Jaipur which has an entry ticket of value around 150rs , amazing for photography and videography, There is a beautiful garden representing the life style of queens , A mirror palace names Sheesh Mahal and a beautiful lake at the entrance of the palace. Avoid visiting on weekends and festive seasons the crowd will be a reason you may hate this place, maintenance of the fort is not that good. You will find cafeteria, cafes and washrooms inside the fort for comfort.

Wow, what a palace! That's what my expression is when i visited this for the first time. It's an evergreen beautiful place. The top of the fort gives you a landscape view of the entire city, other side the trained elephants safaris happening which is so exciting. At the exit gate there are souvenirs sold by the sellers. Tip: people selling just at the entrance costing double than the people outside the fort where sellers are seen roaming with souvenirs. It's a delightful experience especially if you are a historic person.

Visiting Amber Palace was an unforgettable experience. The grandeur of the architecture, especially the stunning Sheesh Mahal, is absolutely breathtaking. Walking through the courtyards and royal halls feels like stepping back into Rajasthan’s regal past. The views from the fort overlooking Maota Lake are simply magical. A perfect blend of history, art, and panoramic beauty — truly a must-visit in Jaipur!

We had an amazing experience at the Amer Fort a.k.a. Amber Palace. It is MUST VISIT when in Jaipur!! Confused whethere a Guide is needed or not??? (Skip to the end for my advise) Also, the light & sound show in the evenings is again a MUST experience atleast once. Timings for the show are as follows- Hindi show - 6.30 PM English show - 7.30 PM It tells the beautiful story of the fort and the rajas and maharajas that came and went along with war trivia and how the fort ultimately was opened for the public. The personification of the fort during the entire narrative along with the mix of music showcasing rajasthan's rich culture, stole our hearts! See the pictures to view different angles of the fort to know what to expect. Treat is as a sneak peak, cause picture abhi baaki hai mere dost (for the hindi speaking views) Now the only question that remains is - whether to pay for a Guided experience or not!! Hell YES. Why? You will be lost in the fort without a Guide, yes, you will still appreciate the architectural beauty and be able to take cute pictures with pretty surroundings. However, having a guide will elevate your experience 10x times, he will narrate you the story of different regions of the fort, he will also know the most picture perfect angles. Guide fees is not extravagant, it is reasonable and will definitely be worth it !

Visiting Amber Fort was one of the highlights of my Jaipur trip. Walking through the massive gates and royal halls made me feel the grandeur of Rajasthan’s history. The Sheesh Mahal is mesmerizing, and the views from the top are unforgettable. It can get crowded, but the beauty and heritage of the place make it totally worth it. Truly a royal experience!

Best place to visit!! Sish Mahal is the must visited place in Jaipur. This is my favourite. Amer Fort shows strong history and culture of our India. Fort entry is free but you have to buy a ticket for the Sish Mahal which absolutely worth it.

I visited Amber Palace yesterday with my family, and the experience was truly memorable. The moment we entered, we were amazed by the stunning Rajput architecture, intricate carvings, and the overall royal charm of the place. The palace is beautifully maintained and gives you a glimpse into Rajasthan’s rich history. My daughter enjoyed the visit a lot — she loved exploring the large courtyards, climbing the steps, and looking at the colourful walls and mirror work inside the Sheesh Mahal. The open spaces, beautiful viewpoints, and the chance to see the palace from different levels made it even more exciting for her. We also enjoyed the breathtaking views of Maota Lake and the surrounding hills. The entire palace complex is picturesque and perfect for family outings, photography, and learning about the heritage of Jaipur. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would highly recommend Amber Palace to anyone visiting Jaipur.

My visit to Amber Fort was one of the best experiences I’ve had in Jaipur. This historic fort is already famous for its architecture and beauty, but seeing it in person was even more impressive. I spent around 2 hours exploring the fort, and every corner had something unique to admire — from the grand gateways to the intricate mirror work inside the Sheesh Mahal. The highlight of my visit was the night light view. As the fort lit up, the entire structure looked absolutely stunning, almost like a golden palace glowing in the dark. The atmosphere felt peaceful and magical, and the illuminated walls, courtyards, and pathways made the whole experience unforgettable. Standing there and watching the fort shine under the night sky was truly breathtaking. Amber Fort is not just a tourist spot; it’s a place that takes you back in time with its history, art, and royal charm. I highly recommend visiting in the evening and staying until the lights turn on. It’s an experience you won’t forget!

Lovely place and a great experience. Beautiful combination of beauty and history. Shish mahal is the main attraction where you can see the science behind the structure. The is a Spa and Sauna also in the back which shows the advancement of technology in our past. You must hire a guide before visit otherwise you will miss the history behind this. Lovely palace and well maintained by the government. Must visit.
