Having a candlelight dinner at Ambrai Restaurant was always a dream of mine, and I’m so glad it finally came true on this trip. The ambience is truly beautiful, especially between 6 PM and 8 PM, when the setting feels incredibly romantic. With soft lighting all around, each table glowing with candlelight, soothing music in the background, and the mesmerizing view of Lake Pichola right in front, the experience feels magical. Dinner almost feels like an excuse—the real highlight is soaking in the atmosphere. Ambrai was undoubtedly my favorite part of the Udaipur trip. It’s a place everyone should visit at least once to experience its charm.

Located at Ambrai Ghat, this rooftop restaurant offers a stunning view of the Taj and City Palace, which makes it a must visit spot. Had dinner at Ambrai Restaurant and it was a great experience. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was beautiful. Highly recommend the Chilli Cheese Naan and the Jaipur Sabji, both were outstanding. A special thanks to Jai Veer at the reception who helped us get a nice table and made the experience even better. Definitely recommend visiting, but make sure to reserve your table at least 2 days in advance, especially for dinner.

The restaurant is located at one of the most scenic ghats at Lake Pichola, the ambrai ghat. This restaurant is a part of Hotel Amet Haveli. You will find it mostly occupied by foreigners. When we visited near 5 PM, the main restaurant was closed till 630 PM but the upper high tea section was open for snacks and drinks. Look out for the Pichhola Punch cocktail, highly refreshing and tasty, light on alcohol. The peri peri fries with Mustard mayo were tasteful too. The staff is very appeasing and attentive.

OMG, what an incredible spot for dinner! 😍 We absolutely loved the views from here. The food was seriously delicious 😋. Big shoutout to Chirag — he suggested some amazing dishes and took such good care of us right till the end. During peak season, you need to book a lakeside table at least 3 weeks in advance! Luckily we got a lake-view spot on the first floor, but the ground floor looked even more awesome. Just note that the bill has to be at least ₹8,000 for those lakeside tables.

First time visit to Ambrai and we were worried by some of the reviews but we had an amazing experience 😄. No idea why they make everyone wait around outside when they could be ordering pre dinner drinks but hey ho! Each to their own! The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. -1 on service as we had to wait an age for the main course but other than that it was a great night out with the best views in Udaipur

Lovely restaurant tucked away on the left of Ambrai Ghat, inside the heritage Amet Haveli. Food is great with a cover charge of 2000 per person (if you don’t have a prior booking, and don’t want to wait), and worth every penny spent. We got a lakeside table under the large tree in the center. The view of the City Palace is mesmerising at night.

It is good only for ATMOSPHERE AND VIEW. Food is not good at all. Staff is courteous. I ordered papdi chat, jodhpuri mirchi paneer, dal makhani, mocktail and cold coffee. Cold coffee arrives within a minute and mocktail in another 1-2 min. Jodhpuri mirchi paneer was extremely spicy and when I said this to server he changed it without any que.

Ambrai Restaurant, Udaipur ....A truly beautiful place. Ambrai offers both indoor and outdoor seating, but the outdoor seating is magical with stunning views of the City. Make sure to reserve in advance for outdoor seating as it gets full and usually has a Cover charge. The Food is good...especially the mutton curry, which I loved. Cocktails are also well made. Staff is also good and pleasant. Very Instagrammable spot with a strong cultural and royal vibe. One of my favourite places in Udaipur. ✨

A must try restaurant if you are looking for a fine dining experience keeping the lake Pichola in your background. The restaurant offers impeccable ambience and view, good food and hospitable. We were asked to pay a coverage charge of Rs 20001

It's bit on higher side for a normal person. We went there for the breakfast and just the view. A simple pohe costs 400rs Dosa/uttapa also priced at 400rs Go there if you want luxury dining and stunning views.

Must visit Had an amazing experience at Amabrai Restaurant in Udaipur! The food was absolutely delicious with a great variety of flavors to enjoy. What truly makes this place special is the stunning ambience — sitting by the ghat with breathtaking views of the palaces during sunset is simply unforgettable. The atmosphere becomes even more magical with live music adding to the vibe. Perfect spot for a relaxed and memorable evening in Udaipur. Highly recommended!

It’s on the banks of Pichola with a fantastic view of the city palace and the lake palace. We pre booked our lake side table(booking is a must) and after being comfortable seated with the sun setting behind us, the city palace lit and witnessing an aarti happening on the banks, we ordered ourselves, a glass of wine, the Pichola punch and a tomato sorba along with the chicken tikka. We went on to order the verdure piccante pizza followed by the chicken jehangiri and rotis for main course. The ambience was fabulous and the slight cool draft was making it a phenomenal experience. We ended with rasmalai and tiramisu. Sahil helped us all through with a smiling face and kindness. The place was abuzz in no time despite it being a weekday but we were mesmerized by the view and the lake side atmosphere. Loved the place and we are likely to visit it on all our Udaipur trips. Kudos.

Ambrai is easily one of the most beautiful dining spots in Udaipur. The view of Lake Pichola and the City Palace is absolutely unreal, especially in the evening when the lights come on. The food was excellent, but what truly made the experience special was the service. The staff was warm, attentive, and incredibly courteous throughout. A special mention to Ishan, the manager, who went out of his way to ensure we had the perfect lake-facing table and a memorable evening. His professionalism and hospitality really stood out. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Udaipur!

Tolle Lage direkt am Ufer des Pichola- Sees. Die letzte Strecke zum Restaurant führt durch sehr enge Gassen und nur für ein Tuk-Tuk geeignet. Von der weitläufigen Terrasse hat man einen spektakulären Blick auf den City Palace, die Inselpaläste und die beleuchteten Ghatanlagen. Aus einem nahegelegenen Tempel dringt traditionelle Musik herüber. Bedienung freundlich, aber etwas langsam. Vielfältige Speisekarte mit lokalen Spezialitäten, continental und chinesischer Küche. Der viel gelobte indische Weißwein Sula Sauvignon Blanc erfüllte im Geschmack und Aroma nicht unsere Erwartungen. Kein Qualitätswein.

The place lived up to the hype on Instagram. Despite some reviews saying the food wasn’t good, I found it delicious, and reasonably priced. It’s right by the lake, and location makes the experience even more special. I’d highly recommend visiting during lunch hours. They don’t take reservations for lunch, but they do for dinner. Arrive before 12:30 PM to get a good table.

Ambrai is easily one of those places that truly lives up to the hype. Located right on the edge of Lake Pichola, it offers what is possibly the best city-and-lake view in Udaipur. From our lakeside table, we had uninterrupted 180-degree views of Gangaur Ghat, the City Palace, and the Lake Palace. Absolutely stunning. We had pre-booked a lakeside table, which I would strongly recommend. Booking is a must if you want the best seats. As the sun began to set behind us, the view transformed beautifully, with changing shades over the lake and the City Palace slowly lighting up. It’s a magical experience and the perfect time to be there. One of the highlights was being able to walk down to Ambrai Ghat and watch the evening aarti at Gangaur Ghat across the lake. You can also take a boat ride from here, which adds to the charm of the location. Being so close to the water makes the whole experience feel calm, intimate, and very special. The food and service complemented the setting well, but honestly, the views alone make this place worth visiting. Try to reach before sunset and take your time soaking it all in. A special thanks to Arun Saxena for personally taking care of our booking and ensuring our family was comfortably looked after. His attention made the evening even more pleasant. Ambrai is a must-visit in Udaipur, especially if you want to experience the city at its most beautiful.

My favourite place in Udaipur with such an amazing view of lake Pichhola the palaces around the lake and also some yummy drinks and yummy good. I tried their pulav and adhi papdi chat and it was so good! Service was quick and the place is a romantic get away and try their evening candle light dinner. Above all. Love the cool breeze and some fresh air.

Rooftop seating is also incredible We went on Thursday 6;15pm, had reserved by call on Wednesday afternoon. The restaurant gets packed, a lot of foreigners! Now the food. Epic and worth it. Main punjabi food only if you eat it isn't thatttt expensive! Around 900 per pax But drinks are quite expensive We tried hot and sour soup which was nice Pesto penne pasta awesome Paneer mirchi jodhpuri recommended to us . Very nice subji unique taste must try. Brownie was also nice Service was also great. Mr Sahil awesome guy, very helpful to everyone, very nice attitude and knowledge. Overall must visit, anyone should try it! Worth the price and experience for sure
