My housing experience with AUR was extremely disappointing—so much so that I ultimately withdrew from the program, despite enjoying the travel opportunities and social aspects. Upon arrival, our apartment was in unacceptable condition. There was leftover food in the refrigerator, dirt and trash throughout the unit, unclean beds, and visible stains on the walls. Shortly after moving in, we discovered a cockroach infestation and even live rodents. Despite repeatedly requesting a professional exterminator or alternative housing, my concerns were ignored until I personally went to the Student Life office in tears after finding more than ten cockroaches in my bathroom. Phone calls I made about the issue were disregarded entirely. Additionally, the housing amenities were not as advertised. The apartments were promoted as having air conditioning in the common areas, yet there was none. AUR also stated that towels and bed linens would be provided for each student; however, only some of my roommates received them, and those that were provided were molded and unusable. Overall, my experience with AUR housing was misrepresented and mishandled. The lack of cleanliness, pest control, and responsiveness created an unlivable environment. I would strongly recommend that students consider other institutions that prioritize their well-being and deliver on their promises.

The best universities go beyond a simple name. If what is destined to be done by someone seeking leadership and training is in this unusual and perfect combination between american education and the history of Rome, one can only expect the best results, but it depends first and foremost on dedication and continuous search for training, not on perfectionism. That is why Rome can also be a great option for all of this.

Hard to talk in-depth about the graduate programs, but after talking to many of my friends and classmates we all agreed that the student body is what makes the school shine, rather than the institution. Specifically, one grad student, whom I love dearly, makes my life so sweet because they are my cherished partner.

I cannot speak for the undergraduate school, but I was extremely disappointed with the faculty and graduate program overall. I felt I was deliberately set up for failure and misled about the supports I would receive. My advisor repeatedly failed to show for meetings and left emails partially answered if she replied at all, as though she could not be bothered to read through my questions and thoughts. She gave substantial feedback on my full thesis only after my defense. My program director openly insulted my intelligence during my thesis presentation and added assignments to her classes without updating the syllabi (she had emailed. I had contacted student services prior to the beginning of the year to update my email, but communications went to an inbox I can no longer access all the same. I frequently was left off of email communications from the school.). We were assured that AUR has internship connections around the world, only to find out halfway through the program that we were responsible for securing our own internships and that AUR couldn't do much for us outside of Rome. The one internship AUR offered which was connected to my thesis topic went to another student who was studying something else. We were discouraged from utilising the Career and Internships Office to help find leads. I chose a small university in the hope that I would not be lost in a crowd, that I would be supported and guided in the research process. I was not anticipating conducting research entirely independently, at a school that doesn't even provide access to most online databases and doesn't publish theses. What a waste of $20k. I am, frankly, surprised that AUR has accreditation. I urge anyone contemplating graduate school to investigate thoroughly his program of choice and not merely take it at its word. I should note that there are a handful of absolutely wonderful staff and faculty, without whom I would have lost all hope in the very institution of academia. My deepest thanks go out to them for getting me through the day on my darkest ones.

I'm so glad that I chose Aur for my master's program. A beautiful school with an excellent faculty, I am leaving their peace studies program ready and excited to continue on to find a PhD program. Be sure to take part in the outings they provide to students-- what an amazing way to experience Rome 🙏🏻♥️🙏🏻 Many thanks for an unforgettable and enriching experience.

I am a Bangladeshi. I want to study at American University in Italy. I have seen many reviews of this university. In the morning, he gave a good opinion on behalf of this university. If I want to study in this university. What should I do? How will the money be spent? If anyone is kind, please let me know the details. I will be happy if you tell me how much money it will cost.

I graduated as a part of the Class of 2018 in the Business Administration program. Coming to AUR was one of the best decisions I have ever made and my experienced can be summed up in two ways... First and foremost was my peers. I was able to meet and become friends with great young people from all over the globe. Meeting so many different people from different cultural upbringings really helped to expand my perspective as an individual. The second aspect was my fantastic professors. The best thing about the business program at AUR is all of the great professors who have decades of practical experience in the business world. They don't just preach from the ivory towers of business theory; instead they bring forth a plethora of knowledge that will allow you to become successful when you join the workforce. Aside from school, integrating in a foreign culture with a different language is not for the faint of heart. IF you do come abroad, which I highly recommend, don't live like you do at home. Don't surround yourself with your familiar friends 24/7. Go out and take a risk, make new friends, and who knows you might just have the time of your life!

I was an accepted student but will not be making it due to personal reasons. However, the folks at AUR deserve a mention for their amicable demeanor and services throughout my application process. Yesenia, Kirsty and Zoe have been so warm, supportive and patient enough to walk me through all the paperwork. Responding to my emails positively and promptly proved their ability to handle students coming from different backgrounds/situations. As an international prospective student applying to university for the first time, I'm pleased to recommend AUR to any future student. I trust they will go far to make all the preparations for your study in Italy a lot more easier and faster.

I wish I could give more stars! AUR was the best experience I ever had and I wish I had done all 4 years of university there. The staff and faculty care deeply and the unique learning environment made being away from home worthwhile. Anyone who is considering going to school in Rome, do it!

My son has plans on attending your school in the fall of 2019, he have spoken very highly about his researching of your school. I have one problem, it is your housing, do you guys have private dorm rooms. We would love for him to not have a room mates. If not how do you match the room mates up for the dorm room. I just want him to have a great experience at you guys school. Concern Parents

As an alumnae of the International Relations program (2012), I can attest to the highest caliber of teaching in international relations at AUR. The tight-knit international student community, combined with the international faculty, made for the most enriching experience - intellectually and personally. AUR also provided me with generous internship opportunities - including the United Nations at FAO and NATO! AUR also provided the students and the larger Roman academic community with frequent, timely and thought-provoking symposia. After AUR I attended law school and am now an attorney in New York. Without a doubt, my academic experience at AUR prepared me for the analytical challenges and extensive writing requirements that awaited me in law school. The facilities, within a set of beautiful and historic building, were also more than adequate. As for housing, although dormitories are not provided (they are not common in Italy), AUR's staff is well-qualified and ready to help in assisting students with housing and any questions or concerns that may arise. I cannot recommend this institution enough.

I decided to go at the first time to go to John Cabot but after one year I understood that, JCU is too expensive and the professors are not so good, I obviously can afford for it, I changed the university recently and I am well here, professor with excellent skills and method, people are friendly and lots of activities!
