Great university for master studies! I had a chance to not only learn theory but also apply it in practice. I enjoyed BMTP programme curriculum. Also cafeteria is nice - including fresh sandwiches!

Fijn theater is Griffioen. Ruime plek goed uitzicht en goede stoel Het optreden van Roel C Verburg was top.

Dutch education for international student is a joke in general!!! Before you signed up, they lure you with how international, immersive, and diverse they are. However, after you begin your course, you will find out that you are in a very helpless situation as an international. Dutch university did a really good job in marketing and ripping money form all the international students. I highly recommend international students to go to other country for higher education!!! Beside being helpless in class and in school, the housing situation in Amsterdam is also crazy. I know few student apartments’ waiting list can be up to 100+ people waiting for one room. Cheaper student apartments start from 700+ euro, expensive one can be up to 900+ or 1000+, which is a lot for students. However, I still find some professor very helpful and caring (few). This is probably the reason why I still give 4 stars review. The campus itself is combined with new and old. The cafeteria food is okish but affordable for student. Sometimes there will be people dancing salsa in the baseball court. Anyway, if I got the chance to study abroad again, I definitely will not choose Dutch university :)

I walked by, at night, didn't go inside, might have glanced the building but not absolutely sure which one it is. All-in-all a pretty spectacular experience I'll tell you that much, but roadwork.....so minus one star

Great place overall. Housing was the only difficult part for me. I eventually found a good roommate through MITO Roommate Finder — made the whole process way easier.

Good university with kind study counselors. My favourite professor until now is Erik Scherder. When he talks you just want to listen! Great study program with interesting courses. They also try to make it easier for students to have a say in things. The building is old though and I don't like the look on the inside and outside. Before corona I remember that I couldn't find places to sit, because it was way too crowded.

My South African son has been a student for two years and very happy. The biggest problem in Amsterdam is getting accomodation,specially for students. Close to the university is around 700 euros per month. The further you go the cheaper. Obviously by bicycle easy to get around. Eating is affordable and other expenses.

It has been a tradition for me to visit Universities in the cities I am passing through. Later I found that one of my friend with whom I didn’t meet for last 2 years due to distance and covid was studying here. One thing which makes sense that why the University is outside of the city.

Tip, koop maandagochtend geen eten bij de Campus Club op de BG van de VU. Alles is dan bevroren. De onvriendelijke medewerkster weigerde het eten (mijn ontbijt) terug te nemen: 'dat kun je later opeten'.

A very large complex consisting of emergency and non emergency doctors and dentist. Easily accessible by tram, bus or bike - even car. I'd suggest the bus - it's so easy. A bit daunting and confusing finding where you need to go so get there early. Even earlier if you don't spreekt Nederlands.

The best place to learn Dutch language. It’s intensive and expensive, but it's worth it. You can use the DUO Loan to help you about the finances. They have superb curriculum and method that help you to learn Dutch so fast. Even though they are so good, but they need to upgrade the online system interfaces. The online system still looks like website in the year 2000. You can’t open in your tablet because still using flash media player and not user friendly.

Eminent academic institution in Amsterdam with whom I have had the pleasure to collaborate. Lots of schemes for student wellness available.

A suggestion: Charging 35000 euros for a year as tuition fee for masters in Information Science from Non-EU is ridiculous. And makes no logical sense business wise also. To make your programme competitive, IMO, you should not charge more than 26000 euros. Maybe this year, due to situation in USA, you might get few students. But, it's not sustainable for sure.

The university campus is small if you compare it with other universities with the same QS ranking but they have everything a student might need. They have most number of courses offered in Netherlands I guess, also they have joint courses with University of Amsterdam. They have very experienced faculties and a lot of them have contributed towards research which explains why a lot of students study there. The vibe is chill at the university and their Introduction days are super fun!

Not great for international students. Unfair grading even by the grading criteria, subtle priority for Dutch and European students in classes and assignments, you get ghosted if you ask for the reasoning behind the feedback or grade you got, and other such injustices. One professor sat silent while a gang of Dutch students openly mocked me while I was speaking during a small meeting. She later berated me via email for standing up for myself, but still had no words for the bullying that happened right in front of her. This kind of professor somehow also got a university magazine award for best professor here. Communication and information studies is also a terrible choice. There’s no scope for individual development because all classes force you to do group assignments and finally you are not even allowed to choose your own bachelor’s thesis topic. They will put you in a group for a topic they have selected. The housing is also a complete disaster. They left me with no housing for the first three months even though they took an exorbitant housing fee. And you are on your own for housing after your first year. They won’t provide anything. Student associations can be isolating if you’re an international. Not enough university social events and communication to ease international students into a new country.

Its an amazing University with lectures to funtime..You're never bored in this University. Its really a great institution.
