Andaj River valley is located in the northeastern part of Alamut region of Qazvin. The name of this valley and its river is derived from the title of a large village of the same name at the end of this valley.
Andaj village is located in Rudbar section of Alamut, Qazvin city, 15 km from Moallem Kalayeh city and 80 km from Qazvin.
Andaj village is located with geographical coordinates of 50 degrees and 25 minutes and 45 seconds east longitude and 36 degrees and 27 minutes and 55 seconds north latitude.
This village is limited from the north to Pashteh mountain, from the east and northeast to Sato mountain and Taro valley, from the north and northwest to Dimian mountain (field) and Chakan valley and from the southeast to Qalehchal mountain.
Andaj village is limited to Kochnan village from the north, Dek village from the west, Tavan Vakhshkhal village from the east and Kandan Sar village from the south.
The income of the people of Andaj village is provided through agriculture and animal husbandry. Beekeeping and production of handicrafts such as baskets and felt are also common in the village. The agricultural and garden lands of the village are cultivated by irrigation method. Rice, wheat, barley and alfalfa are the village crops. A variety of garden and tree fruits include cherries, sour cherries, apricots, walnuts, apples and pears.
