Room was compact yet had everything you needed and enough space to rest. It was within good walking distance of many restaurants and metro stations. Their public bath was also well managed, clean, and they supply you with garments that can be refreshed daily. Reception made check in/out very easy and I would recommend anyone to stay here!

Great location but that’s the only great thing. Staff speak English but don’t understand anything you say. Cleaning staff come in daily not every 3 days like it says & they move all your things around & go through your stuff… would not recommend. Nothing was stolen, but I still dislike having cleaners entering the room daily & touching my things. There is no feeling of privacy. I will never stay at an APA again. If I could give less than 1 star I would.

This was my second stay at this hotel. On the positive side, the rooms are very clean — which is generally the standard in Japan — and the location is very convenient for reaching most places in central Tokyo. It makes moving around the city easy and efficient. Unfortunately, this particular stay was quite challenging. There was a notice stating that the air conditioning had to be set to the same mode in all rooms. My room had no real window — only a wall directly outside — and it became extremely hot, which made the space feel claustrophobic. It was not possible to adjust the temperature individually. Overall, while the hotel has clear advantages in terms of cleanliness and location, this stay turned out to be rather unfortunate and uncomfortable.

I stayed at APA Hotel Higashi Shinjuku Kabukicho Tower for 7 nights and found it a very convenient and comfortable base for exploring Tokyo. The location is great, just a few minutes walk from Higashi-Shinjuku Station, with plenty of restaurants, bars, and convenience stores nearby in the Kabukicho area. It’s easy to grab a late night meal or drink after a day of exploring. The room is compact, as you’d expect from a Tokyo business hotel, but it’s well designed and functional. The bed was comfortable, everything was clean. There are also laundry machines and vending machines, which are handy for longer stays. Because it’s in Kabukicho, the surrounding area can feel lively and a bit noisy at night, but inside the hotel it was quiet, and the security felt solid. The front desk staff were polite and helpful. Overall, if you’re looking for a clean, functional, and well located hotel in the Shinjuku area, APA Higashi Shinjuku Kabukicho Tower is a great choice and easy to recommend.

Clean hotel just a 15 min walk from Shinjuku Station. From the airport I took the Narita Express train with direct connection to the Shinjuku Station. Plenty of stores and resturants next door. Paid Breakfast is nice, with numerous options from American to Japanese. Rooms are tiny, as expected, but had frig, desk, bathroom amenities, and hot pot warmer. Hotel had a Resturant, laundry room, and spa. Recommend

My experience was awesome. The room are very small but the hotel provides everything to make your stay comfortable. On the TV screen there are many information about Japan and specifically: culture, trains, food, breakfast time, laundry service, cleaning and the possibility to make request directly from your room. The breakfast was great and not busy (we went at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30) They change your towels every day. At the reception there is a money change, luggage scale, fast check out service, storage luggage and the staff who is prepared to help you.

Very affordable, but you get what you pay for. Rooms are small, air-con is centrally controlled in Winter (which didn't bother me too much, but may bother others that run hot). The rooms are very tidy. Breakfast was really good. Basically, everything that is within the Hotel staff's control is done really well, there's just things like room size that are out of their control that may bring it down for some people. However for the price it's pretty good.

I was kind of afraid to book it looking at the reviews, but I actually had a lovely stay. I traveled solo and stayed here for 7 days and didn’t have a problem. The rooms are small but you can’t beat the price, and it’s really not a problem. The staff at the entrance greeted me and helped me with my check in as soon as I walked in, and check out was seamless. It’s in a pretty good location, too, not far from the station and near a DonQ, I 100% would stay here again !

For me it was a perfect 5 stars experience. Stayed there for 5 nights during my first time visit to Tokyo Japan. Rooms small typical business hotel but clean which is most important, and very thoughtful to have international plug 🔌 which is very thoughtful, deserve 5 stars rating. Service was good, efficient, with all guided semi auto online check in very helpful staff another 5 stars. Location for me it si perfectly located between KABUKICHO lively and vibrant area and the Korea Town just across the street, surrounded with restaurants and minimalist around make everything within walking distance, another 5 stats for location. All in all very good value for money hotel with highlights on strategic location and cleanliness that you can see in my pictures.

I decided to book a “nice hotel” for 4 nights to have some comfort, luxury and relaxation. Didn’t sleep properly once during my entire stay. Room is absolutely tiny and the bathroom too. Room is boiling hot in winter. Air conditioner does not work deliberately from hotel. It can be 1°C outside but will consistently be 27°C every time you go inside your room (sauna). There is a window which does not open? with a lovely view of a concrete wall? How depressing! If you are lucky enough to sleep at all in this awful heat. Enjoy waking up drenched in sweat. Feel free to ask the staff at reception for a fan, even if they care enough to consider your request and comfort, they will pretend to check around for a few minutes only to tell you they don’t have any fans available (obviously because nobody can tolerate this). What a nightmare and terrible service. I wish I had looked at the negative reviews as they are all accurate. The sad thing is, is that they won’t even offer any sort of compensation or resolution. A simple google search will show two things. Controversy and safety issues regarding earthquakes. So, I will write this honest review. But will likely just get some generic response without any accountability or compensation. The Onsen was decent, and the staff seemed to be quite nice and helpful with regard to checkout and luggage. There is nowhere to sit or relax in the lobby or anywhere for that matter. Very good at facilitating getting you out the hotel. But very poor in making you feel comfortable or considering how your stay is. My advice is to save your money and holiday and go elsewhere.. in theory it is a nice place. But in reality it’s not like that at all.

Location of the hotel is decent since it’s reasonably near to a few bus and train stations. However there’s quite a few APA hotels around so it can be easy to get confused by which hotel is the one that you booked. I found the staffs to be friendly but the check in process is a bit too long; the check in kiosk machine requires a lot of information and is a bit slow. The room of the window can only be opened by a bit and the toilet seat is a bit too near to the wall. Other than that, it’s all good. Breakfast was delicious and they even have a hot tub for hotel guests. TV offers some movies and the CNN channel which was nice. Facilities and service overall are quite good even though the price was not cheap.

To arrive from Shinjuku Central Station takes 15 minutes walking. A bit stressful when u have luggages because the amount of people walking around is massive. At the hotel the check in is fast, self made with the presence of the staff in case something goes wrong. The access at the floors is very secure: no key, no access. generally clean the reception area and the elevators. Once in the room, it seems to arrive in a camper van in a very good way( i own a Vw California so i felt “at home”). Bed is confy ( french 1 and 1/2 ), the bathroom is clean and very functional: water from the shower is powerful and easily hot, tempereture is easy to control. the amenities are great: you could basically check in without the beauty case! in the room big tv screen which gives all the explanations for the stay, every space is optimized and functional. the best thing is that there are a stickers which explain how to do what discretely placed in strategic places ( from how to use the hair dryer to the “eco-line “ which shows the water level in the baththub to have a good bath ) Another example the romms have 2 different colours of toothbrush as well as the towel sets are different not to confuse the guests. The room are nicely rumors isolated and the rest is assured. the only minus is the position: located in the area where a lot goes on in the night ( which is great if you are into it but a bit uncomfortable is you are not ) Over all great experience! the service is perfect

This place is really good, clean and well staffed. About 12 mins walk from Shinjuku station. The room is tiny just like all rooms in Tokyo are. The onsen is great, what a good way to relax after walking all day! Tattoo covers are provided. Breakfast was also good. But above all, I wanna thank the staff. I forgot my glasses in the room and they were kind enough to safely store it and deliver it.

Great location, close to the train station (12min walk), shopping areas and nightlife activities pretty much right at your doorstep. Noise level was very minimal to non existent. I had a room with an ok view the size was perfect for me but might be considered small for two. The staff made sure you had new toiletries daily. Laundry I available for a small fee. They do have a 7Eleven which is about a 5 min walk. Overall I had a pleasant experience while staying here.

This is our fourth stay at APA hotel chain but first stay at this location Location: - decently close to train station if you are mobile - decently close to the core Shinjuku area by foot - despite a high concentration of love hotels, I'd still feel safe walking alone at night Room size: - All APA rooms regardless of location are small! 😍Great things: - jacuzzi baths were huge - hotel staff were supportive and can speak english - hotel key card allowed for safety. each key card allows you to visit your floor and the bath floor only - quiet. We stayed on 17th floor. Beautiful views. 😕Negative things: - there is room cleaning every 3 days but there was no cleaning done. The bed was not made. Not vacuumed. Only towels were changed and garbage was emptied. That's pretty poor! Tips: - Bookmark this specific location so you don't get lost and end up at another APA. there is around 3 of them in the same area

⭐ 4.5/5 – Great Stay and Exceptional Service We stayed at APA Higashi Shinjuku Kabukicho Tower and were really impressed with both the service and the comfort. The concierge and restaurant staff were excellent — especially Sozuka, who went above and beyond to help us organise the best option to transfer our luggage and arrange a taxi to our next hotel. Her professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail made our transition smooth and stress-free. Even though the breakfast restaurant was small, there was always space available. The staff were extremely welcoming, and the food was fresh, light, and delicious — a perfect way to start each day. The location was also fantastic — only about a 10-minute walk to Shinjuku Station, making it super convenient to get anywhere in Tokyo. The rooms, while compact as expected in Tokyo, were very well designed. There was plenty of space for two people with large suitcases thanks to the smart layout — we could easily fit our luggage under the bed. The room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay (just note there’s no microwave in-room, but you’ll find them on Level 2 if needed). Overall, a clean, convenient, and well-run hotel with exceptional staff and service. We’d happily stay here again. ⭐ 4.5/5 stars

We always come here when we visit Tokyo as it is easily accessible to Shinjuku and the train stations are close by if you want to go to other areas too. Staff is very accommodating and very English friendly. Very close to Shinjuku/Kabukicho area so lots of bars and restaurants nearby. Convenient stores are everywhere so if you are ever missing anything, you can just pop out. Checking in and out is super fast. There's an option to express check out which is so useful rather than having to queue. There's a scale by the entrance so you can weigh up your suitcase before heading to the airport if needed. Building is secure i.e. need your key card to access the floor. But honestly, considering everything is so safe in Japan, this was the least of my worry. The room is small - there's no sugar coating that. But they are efficient with the space. With space under your bed for luggage to a bath tub that you can literally sit in, it felt cosy. But if you need lots of space around you, consider elsewhere. Noise level was decent. Couldn't really hear people around and the bed... Ah! I actually look forward to it and have compared it to many other hotels in my life. It's just wonderful. Comfortable and spacious despite the room size. Water is provided on the first day ( 2 bottles) but tap water is drinkable in Japan (as of time of posting!) Only thing is that as the hotel runs a central heating/ cooling system (depending on the season), it got a bit too warm for us. You can't open the windows but they do provide additional facilities like fans etc.

The hotel itself is fine, even great. The service is wonderful and the rooms are nice, even though they are small compared to America. Room service is great too, maybe even a little too generous at times. But the big, grating issue I have with this hotel is the heating. You can’t control whether your room is on heating or cooling. And if it’s on heating (which it tends to be even on nights that are barely chilly), you can turn off the fan and turn down the temperature in your room all you want, but your room will still linger around 75-80 degrees Fahrenheit, which makes it impossible to sleep. My husband and I have a 10 day stay here and every day we’re praying it’s on cool so that we can sleep. We even had to buy a fan because they were out of stock of fans (which I think should be a big sign that the guests are uncomfortably warm), leave our hotel room door open, and blow the cool air from the hallway into the room to be comfortable, but obviously we can’t sleep like that either. So, yeah. Nice room, great service, terrible heating/cooling system. I wouldn’t stay here again unless they fix this issue, which it doesn’t seem they are inclined to do, unfortunately.

Not the biggest room but wow does APA do it well here, this room really shows they’re very experienced in the hotel business. I was quite sceptical due to the hotel being in Kabukchou (known to be a bit of a rough area of Tokyo) but the surrounding blocks were great. Everything felt clean and the amenities were very nice. The towels (both hand and body towels) were colour coded in two different colours in our shared room which was a fantastic detail I’d yet to see. There’s surprisingly a lot of space to put your stuff with plenty of clearance below the bed (about 40 cm) to even store oddly shaped suitcases! There are plenty of elevators but they are almost constantly being used so be sure to check out in time.

really detailed and well equipped for a ‘budget’ option, incredibly well put together rooms with good amenities. APA is my go to chain when i stay in japan. at this hotel in particular, the staff were lovely except the cleaners. my only real complaint about this hotel is the sheer rudeness of the cleaners. one day they knocked on our door 5 (FIVE) times in a day when we were clearly sleeping with a clear “do not disturb” sign on the door even though our room was cleaned only 2 days beforehand, and another time the cleaner barged in— while we were literally in bed, and began loudly cleaning around us without our permission despite us telling her not to do that. this is quite frankly insane, and i’ve never had another hotel act this way towards me ever. the other staff at the desk and with baggage storage were very friendly and helpful however.
