Sudheera Senaratne

A place of historical importance which many pilgrims/visitors miss in their visit to Sripada, due to unawareness and inaction by authorities to showcase it's importance by way of signposts, etc. The cave has stone inscriptions suggesting that King Nissankamalla (A.D. 1,187 - 1,196) visited and worshipped the Sripada. An inscription of a king is also clearly visible. There's also a belief that this is the place where Lord Buddha rested for a while during his visit to the mountain peak.
