Hyderabad's Finest and tastiest Biryani. Taste is great, quality and quantity are good. My goto place for biryani since 2008. They do not use food colour at all. That's another good thing.. never had any complaints. Cooperative staff.. friendly atmosphere. Chai is also good. Lassi available in summers, good again..

I recently visited Cafe Bahar and had a bit of a mixed experience. If you’re going strictly for the food, you’ll likely leave happy, but there are a few things to keep in mind regarding the environment. Chicken Dum Biryani: This was the highlight of the meal. We ordered the portion for two, and the masala was incredibly flavorful and authentic. The spice blend is spot on. It came served with one leg piece and one breast piece, both of which were cooked well. A bit of a departure from the traditional "crispy and juicy" style. This version is much more milk-forward and creamy. If you prefer a softer, milky dessert, you’ll love it; if you’re looking for that fried bread crunch, it might not be what you expect. Hygiene: I was disappointed to see the waitstaff serving food without gloves. Seeing bare hands coming into contact with the biryani rice is a significant hygiene concern that the management should address immediately. Ambience: Don’t expect a quiet, relaxing dinner here. The restaurant is extremely noisy and the atmosphere feels a bit chaotic, which makes it hard to have a conversation. Go for the flavor, but perhaps consider takeout if you prefer a cleaner, quieter dining experience. The Biryani is easily some of the best in terms of taste, but the service standards and noise levels hold the restaurant back from a 5-star rating.

Last night, I had the pleasure of dining at Cafe Bahar with friends. We started with the Chicken 65 as a starter, which was flavorful, though perhaps not the best choice for those who prefer their food with a serious kick. The star of the show, however, was the Mutton Biryani Jumbo, a dish that comfortably fed our group of six. The biryani was delicious, and the portion size was generous. The biryani itself was a highlight. The flavors were well-balanced, and the mutton was cooked to perfection. The rice was fluffy and fragrant, making each bite a delight. The Jumbo portion is definitely a good choice if you're dining with a group. Overall, Cafe Bahar offers a satisfying dining experience. If you're looking for a tasty biryani that's not overly spicy and comes in a generous portion, it's definitely worth a visit. The cost is reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you receive, making it a good value for money.

It is one of the classic spots in Hyderabad, especially famous for its biryani. The rice is flavorful, the meat is tender, and the masala has that authentic Hyderabadi taste. Their haleem and other Mughlai dishes are also quite good and satisfying. The portions are generous and worth the price. Service is fairly quick considering how busy the place usually is. The only drawback is that it can get very crowded, and the ambience feels a bit old-fashioned and noisy during peak hours. Still, for taste and consistency, Cafe Bahar remains a solid choice.

I visited Cafe Bahar with my friends recently and it truly lives up to its reputation as one of the most famous restaurants in Hyderabad. It’s always very crowded, which says a lot about its popularity, but it definitely has a busy vibe. We ordered Mutton Haleem and Mutton Biryani, both are outstanding and packed with authentic flavor. The service is impressively fast despite the crowd. The waiters do ask for tips, but given how hard they work and how good the service is, it’s honestly worth giving. Because it’s so popular, the family seating area can sometimes have a long queue, so try to time your visit accordingly. Finding a spot for a car parking is nearly impossible. You might find some roadside space for a bike, or you can try their special parking, though even that is often full. Cafe Bahar is a must visit spot if you want legendary Hyderabadi flavors at very reasonable prices, though you should be prepared for a bit of a wait.

I came to Apollo hospital and ate here as it’s just 200m away from it. I had double mutton single mutton biryani. I got shocked at first. Every biryani stopped giving complimentary egg on top. This is the only restaurant I have seen giving egg after a long time. It had enough pieces that I took time to totally finish the bowl to not waste food. The biryani is nice but the rice is a bit dry and too much salty. I didn’t like the rice much. Overall 4/5. They have a dedicated parking lot. There’s an AC section for couples, families to eat. If you come by city bus from YMCA circle, 83 number city buses 83J/272G gandimisamma buses go through there and the bus stop name is Hyderguda axis bank which is just 200m distance from cafe bahar. Metro also ends at YMCA. From there, city bus or rapido only.I will try to comeback here again for haleem season.

The Haleem is Okayish in taste. Only try when you are residing near Basheerbagh area. 🕰️ Timings- 4:30 pm to mid night until the stock lasts for haleem. No wait time for haleem. Slightly crowded in the evenings for haleem. Good amount of parking space for 2 wheelers. 1) Cafe Bahar Special Haleem (Served with 1/2 boiled egg, 3 pieces of chicken 65, fresh cream, plenty of cashews) Rs- 320/- Rating 2.5/5⭐️ The flavour and texture is not upto the mark and it is not meaty enough for the price we pay. They also serve Normal Haleem, Spl Haleem along with Bahar Spl Haleem.

Café Bahar at Basheerbagh carries a certain weight — expectations walk in before you do. While it’s celebrated for its biryani, I tried the tandoori chicken this time, and it held its ground confidently. The chicken was juicy, nicely marinated, and grilled with that gentle smokiness that doesn’t overpower the spices. Served hot, portion size was decent, and it paired well with the classic mint chutney. The ambience is bustling, almost chaotic at peak hours — a place where conversations overlap and plates move fast. Service can feel rushed when it’s crowded, but that’s part of the Bahar rhythm. Prices remain reasonable for the quality and quantity they serve. Overall, if you’re exploring Café Bahar beyond biryani, the tandoori chicken is a safe and satisfying choice. Come for the flavour, not the finesse

Had the Café Bahar Special Haleem (₹380) — absolutely excellent and worth it. The mutton was tender, well-cooked, and the flavor was rich and satisfying. Bheja Fry (₹300) was disappointing. Too much capsicum, green chilli, and onion, which overpowered the taste. The quantity was also quite small for the price. Would suggest skipping this. Rumali Roti (₹25 each) was decent in taste and texture, but could have been better — felt a bit plain without any ghee or richness. Paneer Butter Masala (₹300) was very good — excellent taste and generous quantity. We packed the leftovers and donated them outside. Please consider doing the same and avoid wasting food.

Very good restaurant! The value for money, service, and taste is unmatchable compared to restaurants from Chennai. 600rs you get a 2 X Chicken Briyani. For the same amount we got Mutton Briyani with chicken topping. 4 members didn't finish it!

Had an average experience at Cafe Bahar. The chicken biryani for two was okay decent, but not something I’d call great. The double ka meetha was disappointing; it tasted overly milky and lacked the usual flavor. What bothered me more was the hygiene. The waiters weren’t wearing hand gloves and were serving food using their fingers, which felt uncomfortable. Also, the staff cleared our plates without even asking we had some egg left and were planning to eat it later, but it was taken away. Overall, it was an average visit. The place has a name, but there’s definitely room for improvement in hygiene and service.

The Biryani is absolutely bang on. Huge portions, amazing value for money and the taste is mind blowing. Authentic Hyderabadi Biryani. Service is good, seating is good. Prices are pocket friendly & amazing. Staff are polite and wait time for food is also not that much. Definitely coming here again for Biryani.

Cafe Bahar is place to be recommended at Hyderabad. The authentic food , the ambience and service is excellent. A bit crowded, other may have to wait for 15-30 min, I found a seat without any wait. Bahar special chicken, rumali roti, Biryani are must try.

We came for the mutton biryani, which was excellent, but the tandoori chicken was also a melt-in-your-mouth experience. The team was very attentive with serving food and ensuring all our needs were met. Forgot to take photos of the biryani because I was too busy tucking in! The atmosphere was easy going because we weren't there when it was super busy, but could imagine that it would get quite loud and chaotic as voices echo quite a bit. Come for the tasty food and excellent service (and maybe try to avoid peak hours).

Known for their Biryanis from many years. Ordered Mutton and chicken Biryani. Biryanis are good. Mirchi ka salan and raitha served with biryani are ok. Onion salad is charged extra They don’t serve mini portions. Parking is available

Café Bahar in Hyderguda is truly one of the best places in Hyderabad for authentic Hyderabadi biryani. The biryani here is superb — full of rich aroma, perfectly cooked rice, and tender, juicy meat that melts in your mouth. The flavors are balanced beautifully — not too spicy, not too oily, just the right Hyderabadi touch! The quantity is generous, and every bite gives that classic biryani satisfaction. Their service is quick even during rush hours, and the staff are polite and attentive. The ambiance feels lively and local — exactly how a true Hyderabadi biryani spot should be. If you’re a biryani lover, Café Bahar, Hyderguda is a must-visit. Very, very tasty and absolutely worth every rupee!

Visited Cafe Bahar and tried the haleem and biryani. The haleem was just okay, but the biryani was excellent with great flavor and perfect spice balance. The place tends to get very crowded during peak hours, so be prepared for some waiting time. Overall, a good spot for authentic biryani lovers and worth the visit despite the rush.
