I recently had the pleasure of staying at one of the finest hotels in Lisbon, and it truly exceeded every expectation. The location is unbeatable — right in the city center and within walking distance to everything you could possibly need. Whether you’re exploring historic streets, shopping, or dining, everything is just steps away. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by the hotel’s warm and elegant décor. The ambiance feels luxurious yet inviting, making it easy to relax immediately. The rooms are impressively spacious, beautifully designed, and extremely comfortable. What truly sets this hotel apart is the exceptional service. Every single staff member — from the doorman to the reception team to the restaurant staff — delivers outstanding hospitality. They go above and beyond, even remembering your name and addressing you by your last name, which adds such a personal and thoughtful touch. If you stay here, booking the spa is an absolute must. The facial treatments using Susan Kaufmann products are incredible. I strongly recommend therapists Sarah and Jessica — both are highly skilled and provide a truly rejuvenating experience. Don’t miss the rooftop bar for stunning views and a fantastic atmosphere. Also, make sure to dine at BAHR restaurant — the food is absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. With its top-notch service, prime location, and overall excellence, this is hands down the best hotel in Lisbon. Don’t bother looking at any other hotels — this is the one.

We had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The hotel is exceptionally clean and beautifully maintained, with a modern and elegant design that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. The rooms are spotless, well-organized, and thoughtfully designed, offering both comfort and style. Every detail feels carefully considered, from the quality of the amenities to the small touches that make the stay extra special and indulgent. We had a wonderful stay, they deserve every single star. From the moment of our arrival, the staff and space were flawless, and the location could not be better. We had a couple of fabulous meals in the restaurant and on the terrace as well. Breakfast tip: Try the sausage and say yes to the fresh bread. My wife is now obsessed with the jam they serve along side it. And to the staff: Thank you so much for making our stay in Lisbon so perfect we were planning our return before we'd even left!

First time at this gorgeous hotel and it was definitely quite an experience! Everything felt so warmth from the moment we arrived till we left. The staff was very friendly and always tried to meet all our needs. The room felt unique and the amenities at the hotel were all top level. The restaurant is incredible and the rooftop is, without any doubt, one of the best views over the city. An experience to repeat for sure...

Uma estadia verdadeiramente memorável e merecedora das 5 estrelas! O Bairro Alto Hotel superou todas as expectativas, principalmente pelos seus quartos excelentes, que oferecem um conforto excecional e uma decoração impecável. O serviço ao hóspede é sem duvida o foco da equipa fantástica que aqui trabalha. A higiene e manutenção do hotel é sem duvida impecável. A atenção ao detalhe está sempre presente, e o pessoal é descrito como amável, prestável e atencioso. A localização premium do hotel, situada na zona histórica de Lisboa, entre o boémio Bairro Alto e o chique Chiado, que na minha opinião posso considerar como a melhor localização da cidade. Apesar de ser super central, o excelente isolamento acústico das janelas garante tranquilidade. A repetir certamente!!!

O hotel é brutal, começando na localização excelente, perfeita para conhecer a cidade a pé e sentir a verdadeira energia de Lisboa. O rooftop é, sem dúvida, um dos grandes destaques do hotel. A vista sobre a cidade é deslumbrante, especialmente ao final do dia. É sem dúvida um daqueles espaços que ficam na memória. O hotel é um charme no seu todo. Recomendo 5*

The location of the hotel is great for exploring the area and the rest of Lisbon although it is not as central as other locations. If you want to stay in Bairro Alto, then this is the place to do it but hotels in the lower part of Lisbon are more central for exploring the rest of the city. Our allocated room was clean and comfortable. The service level was good. While we enjoyed our stay here, I would say this is a good hotel but compared to other properties we stayed at in Portugal, this hotel was more mainstream and not noteworthy in any particular way.

This may have been the best experience at any hotel I've ever had. Every one of the staff members here was incredibly kind and professional from start to finish and went out of their way to make sure that we had a good stay here. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and I will definitely be back!

We spent three nights at the Bairro Alto recently and were very pleased with the experience. I can't compare it to other hotels in Lisbon, but in isolation I would definitely recommend it, and would definitely return. - Great location for exploring the city. - Excellent design and decor throughout. High quality fixtures, fittings and furnishings. Plenty of space to unwind in, should you wish to. - Very nice bedrooms, comfortable beds. Excellent soundproofing on the windows, meant it was surprisingly quiet for a city centre hotel. Also (and this is a rarity), soft close bedroom doors, which meant no disturbance from fellow guests coming and going! - Good, clean gym (albeit small) with new equipment. - Great restaurant, including an outdoor terrace (with panoramic views of the river Tagus) where we ate breakfast each morning. The food was very good. - Great bar area on the top floor, with similarly panoramic views. I will say that the service was a bit haphazard one evening but that's a minor quibble. - Very friendly and efficient staff.

Lovely boutique hotel in a great location. Our room was spacious and clean. The front desk was extremely helpful making reservations and suggestions. Breakfast overlooking the river was a highlight - as was ending the evening with a drink on the rooftop every evening. We were hard pressed to find a better view. The service throughout was friendly and attentive. Well done and highly recommended!

Gute Lage, aber nachts ist Schlafen unmöglich. Der Lärm ist extrem! Das Zimmer war auch viel kleiner als erwartet. Auf den Fotos wirkte alles deutlich großzügiger. Insgesamt eher enttäuschend.

Estuvimos tomando café con algo de pastelería, dos días. Nos encantó el bollo de naranja. Riquísimo! Y el café, el mejor que tomado en nuestra estancia de 4 días. No dejen de visitarlo!

I haven’t actually stayed at this hotel. I made a reservation of a one night stay in a different place with the same name as this hotel, mistakenly, I arrived to this place thinking it was the correct location. The receptionist didn’t even check if I had a reservation or not, he was instantly telling me that there wasn’t one under my name and there weren’t any rooms available. By the way he was looking at me (I wasn’t dressed all fancy since that’s probably the profile he was expecting) I could tell how he was belittling me. Anyone could make this mistake since it was my fist time in Lisbon, I was really tired of travelling and the rain wasn’t helping. He was really classist towards me. I must say, that he did help me find the correct address of my hostel but still he didn’t make me feel comfortable by the way he was treating me. I didn’t get his name since I was so confused and dumbfounded by the way he treated me.

5 star experience all around. My husband and I stayed at Bairro Alto for three nights and two days during our trip to Portugal. The staff is superb, the hotel is in a great location, and the rooftop bar is a must visit.

Beautiful hotel . Everything felt 5 star. The service was impeccable. Rooms were extremely clean and well kept . I did notice some comments they are “small” but yes thats to be expected in europe . However, the bathroom is quite small but did not bother me. The location is FANTASTIC! Everything is walking distance to great restaurants , coffee shops and the train station . The breakfast was amazing , delicious options and again the service was perfect . Enjoyed dinner in the hotel as well which was top notch. Food was excellent . I spent many hours researching hotels and i’m very happy with my choice . I would Definetly recommend if you are looking for a higher end hotel that is well located in Lisbon .

Beautiful hotel, lots of charm, nice large suites with very comfortable beds. The rooftop restaurants had beautiful views. Service was attentive and very accommodating. We would definitely return.
