The Shard is one of London’s most striking modern buildings and a real highlight on the skyline. At around 310 metres tall, it is the tallest building in the United Kingdom and a must see if you enjoy architecture, city views, or skyline photography. The classic tourist experience is The View from The Shard, the official observation area located on the upper levels, offering impressive 360 degree views over London and many of its famous landmarks. Tickets are quite expensive, usually around £30 per person, which may not appeal to everyone. A very useful tip is that you do not actually need to buy a sightseeing ticket to enjoy great views from inside The Shard. There are bars and restaurants within the building that allow access without paying the observation deck fee. Places like Aqua Shard on level 31 or the GŎNG bar on level 52 let you enjoy panoramic views simply by ordering a drink or food. This is a much smarter option if you want the experience without the high entry cost. Do note that drinks and meals in these venues are still expensive, and reservations are recommended, especially around sunset or on busy days. That said, you are paying for the view and the atmosphere, which makes it worthwhile for many visitors. Whether you choose the official viewing platform or opt for a bar visit instead, The Shard remains a must visit London landmark. The building itself is beautiful, and seeing the city from this height, especially at night, is a memorable experience.

Fantastic experience. All staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a good chat with a lad who was a tour guide and pointed out some interesting places and told us some history of the buildings and areas. Overall we stayed “up” The Shard for around 90 mins. The views kept changing due to the weather/clouds/mist so I was worthwhile not rushing the visit. We also stayed for the talk from 2 very good members of staff, discussing The Shard, from conception to now. If you are thinking visiting, then do, you won’t be disappointed.

Beautiful views of London, albeit views that would have been even better with a better layout of the pillars that block visibility. Great ease of access. MAKE SURE THE SKIES HAVE BEEN CLEAR BEFORE YOU VISIT! Rain drastically worsens visibility due to the design of the building’s glass facade.

Main Tourist attraction and a must if you want to view London areas from high up. Access was easy and purchased tickets on line beforehand. There was no que and we visited on a Wednesday at 1400. There's two viewings Floors one is open air. There's a bar on floor 68 and seating. There's an option to have photos taken and purchase them on leaving. The Shard also has 3 restaurants access is via a different entrance to the main areas.

entrance was through a restaurant below. Initially we went up the escalators to the top floor but don't make the mistake the entrance is down below. there is a queue and security check and then we went up one floor to Aqua restaurant which was amazing. Took a lot of pics and food was worth the price definitely worth the visit for my birthday celebration.

Visiting The Shard was an unforgettable experience. From the moment you arrive, everything feels world-class and well organised. The views from the top are absolutely breathtaking London stretches endlessly in every direction, and seeing iconic landmarks from such height is truly magical, especially at sunset. The glass walls make you feel like you’re floating above the city, and the atmosphere is calm, elegant, and inspiring. Staff were professional and welcoming, and the overall experience felt worth every moment. Whether you’re a tourist or a local, this is a must-visit place to truly appreciate the beauty of London from above. Highly recommended!

My wife and I visited The Shard for the first time and finally ticked it off our bucket list — and it did not disappoint. The lift ride up to the viewing deck was quick and thrilling, building anticipation with every second. When we stepped out, the atmosphere was electric — buzzing with excitement and full of energy. Yes, it was busy, but that only added to the sense that we were all sharing something special. Seeing London from that height completely changed my perspective. The skyline, the Thames winding through the city, the tiny moving cars below — it made me appreciate London in a whole new way. It was simply breathtaking. Food and drinks were reasonably priced considering the location, which was a pleasant surprise. The facilities were spotless — the toilets were clean and fresh-smelling — and the staff throughout were courteous, professional, and welcoming. Overall, a fantastic experience and one I would highly recommend to anyone visiting London. Definitely worth it.

Molto bello.

The Shard itself is stunning. The views across central London are absolutely breathtaking. From the moment you arrive, the staff on the ground floor are pleasant, professional and welcoming, guiding you smoothly through the security checkpoint. The automatic lift that takes you directly up to the 32nd floor, where the restaurants are located, is seamless. No stop-start interruptions, just a swift glide into the sky. I always enjoy visiting this spectacular piece of architecture in the heart of the city. It feels undeniably posh walking in… and I cannot lie, it is quite satisfying casually mentioning that that’s where you are headed.

Loved it. Caution to anyone that has a fear of heights though, it was much higher than I anticipated. Please make sure you pick a clear day to visit, unfortunately it was overcast on our visit and didn't experience the attraction to its full potential. Staff were great and definitely worth a visit. Cocktails yummy too.

Mega wrażenia i mega widoki. Warto

Got given 3 tickets for Secret Santa and ashamed to say that I have lived in London for 25 years but never thought of actually doing this experience. The pics taken at the beginning turn out to be really good , we paid £20 for 15 digital photos, decently priced. The experience in itself is really nice , we had a guide that explained few things as we were going up with the lifts and then it’s down to you to go ,explore and enjoy. Water price is a bit ridiculous, £3.50 a bottle for a 500ml and doesn’t justify the price when the ticket price would have costed £32/person. It’s nice for a one time experience and for a tourist I highly recommend it. For a Londoner ,well , once it’s done ,maybe return in 10 years.

Went to The Shard late afternoon, no queue at all and paid around £60 for two. Quick bag check and metal detector, then two smooth, fast lifts to the top. The views were absolutely incredible, and there’s even a bar up there! A bit windy but surrounded by glass. Overall, an amazing experience and well worth it.

Классная смотровая. Вид отличный на весь город. Не очень много места для посетителей, но есть возможность выйти на свежий воздух этажом выше. В ветреную погоду держите при себе головные уборы. Минус только за недостаточное количество мест для отдыха.

A must see for anyone visiting London, at least once in their life. Amazing views, particularly beautiful at Sunset. They also serve great cocktails on the top level and there is a very pleasant atmosphere.

My Visit to The Shard, London My visit to The Shard was an unforgettable experience and one of the highlights of my trip to London. Standing at 310 meters, it’s the tallest building in the UK, offering breathtaking 360° views of the city from its viewing decks on the 69th and 72nd floors. The modern glass design by architect Renzo Piano is a true masterpiece that perfectly captures London’s blend of history and innovation. The high-speed lift ride to the top was smooth and exciting, and once there, the panoramic views were incredible — I could see landmarks like Tower Bridge, St. Paul’s Cathedral, the London Eye, and the River Thames stretching for miles. Visitor Tips: It’s best to book tickets online in advance, especially for sunset visits. Try to go on a clear day for the best visibility, and don’t forget your camera. There are also fine dining options and a cocktail bar if you’d like to enjoy the skyline longer. How to Reach: The Shard is located at 32 London Bridge Street, London SE1 9SG, right next to London Bridge Station (Northern and Jubilee lines) and easily accessible by train or bus. Overall, The Shard offers an amazing way to see London from above — a must-visit attraction that combines spectacular views, modern design, and a touch of luxury.
