Great place — a must-visit! I spotted Indian foxes, bison, spotted deer, blackbucks, and peacocks. The animals most frequently seen are peacocks and spotted deer. There’s also zero plastic inside the forest, and it’s very neat and clean, with beautiful greenery everywhere.

सैलानियों के लिए यह बहुत बढ़िया जगह है। हाल ही में यहां पर सीता नदी उदंती की ओर से भटक कर एक बाघ भी आ चुका है। पहले से यहां पर तेंदुआ सफारी, 28 हाथियों का दल, गौर, चीतल, काला हिरण, तोता, चिड़िया, गिलहरी, कई तरह की चिड़िया, मोर, चौसिंगा, बारहसिंघा आदि हैं। यहां पर सफारी की सुविधा भी उपलब्ध है।

This place is stunning to visit. I had visited 3-4 different places in this wildlife area. Roads are good & so much greenery all around.

Barnawapara wildlife sanctuary was a blessing in disguise for us. We went there with least expectations for a one night stay. We did two safari trips. Animal sightings are not much, except spotted deer, peacocks and peahens and ofcourse, black buck. The forest is beautiful wich rich flora and fauna. We stayed at their Barnawapara Paryatak Gram. The Machan rooms are awesome. The birds sighting within the resort itself was too good. We saw jungle owlet, Grey hornbills, racquet tailed drongos, black headed oriole, rufous treepies, parakeets, Greater coucal, indian roller, shikra, white eyed buzzard, bee eaters, ibis family, purple heron, egret, herons, whistling ducks. This was all in a day. Wish we could have stayed more. The food at the stay was homely, cooked on chulha. I would love to visit the place again.

Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary, located in Mahasamund district of Chhattisgarh, spans 245 sq km of lush forests established in 1976 under the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972. Named after nearby Bar and Nawapara villages, it features flat and hilly terrain (265-440m elevation), bounded by Balamdehi River (west) and Jonk River (northeast). Vegetation includes teak, sal, bamboo, and mixed forests supporting tigers, leopards, gaurs, sloth bears, chital, sambar, neelgai, wild boars, and over 150 bird species. Recent efforts reintroduced blackbucks (now ~190 by 2025) and wild buffaloes from Assam in 2022. Home to tribes like Kondhs and Binjhwar, it draws wildlife enthusiasts for sightings.

As the name wildlife sanctuary the wildest animals are missing in the sanctuary, only dears, birds and butter flies are easily available for site seeing, only the ride is best part of this sanctuary. November to March months time is best for visit. Visit with your family and enjoy the fresh air and feel the green atmosphere...😎🙂

Wow! and one of the must go place in Chhattisgarh. Full of Beautiful Nature with freely living wild animals in their Natural habitat. I loved the place and felt blessed in the lap of Nature.

We stayed at Hareli Eco Resort, Mohda, (Barnawapara) owned and operated by the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, is situated in a completely serene environment with just lush greenery around. All the rooms are elevated in machaan style with cosy interiors. This is an eco friendly resort which completely runs on solar energy. You won't get any mobile network here, again its the best for social fasting but please be prepared for emergencies. You can order Food from their canteen but the cost is a bit at the higher side (also not much food options available outside). Check post for Jungle Safari is only half kilometer ahead (Timings: 6 to 8 AM, 8 to 10 AM & 3 to 5 PM).

One of the most preferred wildlife destinations in chhattisgarh, it is a small sanctuary of around 244 sq km touching jonk and balamdehi river. Many private resorts are here, along with govt run lodges as well, but very few with wildlife essence mostly are on leisure mode. Very difficult for like-minded people to get that choice and ambience. Some rest houses are still good to reflect its old charm and firewood kitchen food. Pakrid is one of the, but now good only in winters because of lack of facilities.

Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary situated in Mahasamund district of Chhattisgarh is about 100 km away from Raipur.  The wildlife Sanctuary is rich of different flora and fauna. The sanctuary offers many activities to do I’m like bird watching, trekking,  jungle safaris, bonfires, nature walks.  The forest also offers some forest reports which let the visitors help in exploring more about the forest and the sanctuary.

They offer safari only in buffer zone. We saw deer,monkey and peacocks only but overall experience was clam & peaceful as we did our safari during sunset. Open Gypsy costed us 1300 + 200 for the guide+25 per person for safari booking.During peak days, it's better to book online in advance. To enter the sanctuary there are many gates.One can choose the gate as per location. If you are coming from raipur, you can reach patewa highway and take 25kms unmetalled road to the nearest gate or if you can drive little extra for good roads you can choose to go till pithora and enter from bhalu gate. There will be no mobile network near to sanctuary.

It's a treat to nature lovers. Loved watching wild herbivores animals roaming freely in wild during the first reunion of college friends.. There are checkposts for entering in the sanctuary Accommodation is available at Bar Nawapara that could be booked online ranges from dormitory to machaan and heritage cottages.. Rush days at weekends.. For safari they charge around 1700-1800 for vehicle and entry fee. Polythene packages are not allowed. It's better to go for safari during evening slots. Food is good charged Rs200 per meal and advance intimation is required. Be aware that at present the uninterrupted mobile network is lacking and one needs to stay at some specific locations to catch the network that too works for Jio and Idea. Within the safari visit a beautiful Ghost tree, also called Naked lady of the forest (Sterculia urens), source of karaya gum is present and adds more scenic beauty...

This is one of the lesser explored Wildlife sanctuaries situated in Baloda Bazar District of Chhattisgarh. It's 150 Kms from Raipur and 25 Kms from Pithora. Attraction - Bear, Peacock, Gaur, Deer, Leopard. Cost - Gypsy (Small)-1500, Gypsy (Big)- 2000, Guide charges - 500. Open timing during Winter - 6 AM to 10 AM and 4 PM to 6 PM Summer - 8 AM to 12 PM and 3 PM to 6 PM One major issue here is there will be no mobile network. There are no mobile towers.

If you are a nature / jungle lover, then this is a very good place to visit. Dense forest surrounded by tall trees and mud roads. No network coverage makes it a very serene, cool and calm place to visit. If you are planning safari, you should book in advance from the govt.site. Offline booking is also available (subject to availability). Don't expect to site leopard here as its seen rarely. One can luckily spot it in summers. Commoly seen animals are deers, peacocks and bisons. The guides have a decent knowledge about the jungle. Also don't expect to get good quality food here. There is only one small restaurent here called paryatak gram which serves limited food options. Also carry some food with you if you are travelling for a day.

This is my one of the favorite places,real nature,peace,forest,water fall, Adventures everything in Barnavapara,tourist can visit from Oct to Jun,there is a Safari tour available which is mana by Forest department, the fare of Jipsy is 1300 Inr,and 200 Inr of guide charges extra u have to pay,there is Government Resort for tourists.the costs of Room is about 2500 to 3000 Inr,it is situated about 110 km from Raipur chhatisgarh, Pls Note- There is no mobile network in Barnavapara forest specially near the safari zone,but there is a one worth full option tourist can have, near the Entrance gate There is a big tower and a thin wire hanging on it,u have to use the wire like just touch with the hand and U have find the network in Mobile,Really it is wortful and I did this thing many times,i suggest to all that go and visit.

It was a good experience. Near Raipur you can go with family stay and enjoy the natural place. You have to book safari and guide through online service.

बारनवापारा अभयारण्य यह अभयारण्‍य, बलौदाबाजार जिले  में स्थित है जो 245 वर्ग किमी. के क्षेत्रफल में फैला हुआ है। इसे वन्‍यजीव अभयारण्‍य के रूप में 1972 में वन्‍यजीवन अधिनियम के तहत घोषित किया गया था। यह अभयारण्‍य, समतल और पहाड़ी क्षेत्र का मिश्रण है जो 265 मीटर से 400 मीटर के क्षेत्र में फैला हुआ है। इस अभयारण्‍य में चार सींग वाले हिरण, बाघ, तेंदुए, जंगली भैंसें, अजगर, बार्किंग हिरन, हाइना, साही, चिंकारा और ब्लैक बक्‍स आदि देखने को मिलते है। यहां पक्षी प्रेमियों के लिए काफी कुछ देखने को है। यहां कई प्रकार के पक्षी जैसे – बगुले, बुलबुल, इरगेट्स और तोता आदि की कई प्रजातियां देखी जा सकती है। यह वन क्षेत्र शुष्क पर्णपाती पेड़ों और अन्य पेड़ों से समृद्ध है जिनमें तेंदू, बीर, सेमल, साक, टीक और बेंत आदि शामिल है। छत्तीसगढ़ के महासमुंद जिले के उत्तरी भाग में स्थित है, बारनवापारा वन्यजीव अभयारण्य क्षेत्र में बेहतरीन और महत्वपूर्ण वन्यजीव अभयारण्यों में से एक है. 1972 के वन्य जीव संरक्षण अधिनियम के तहत 1976 में स्थापित, अभयारण्य अपेक्षाकृत केवल 245 वर्ग किलोमीटर के क्षेत्र को कवर करने के लिए एक छोटे से एक है. क्षेत्र की स्थलाकृति 265-400 लाख टन के बीच लेकर ऊंचाई के साथ फ्लैट और पहाड़ी इलाके के शामिल हैं. बारनवापारा वन्यजीव अभयारण्य अपने हरे भरे वनस्पति और अद्वितीय वन्य जीवन के लिए जाना जाता है. वनस्पति और जीव – बारनवापारा वन्यजीव अभयारण्य बारनवापारा वन्यजीव अभयारण्य की वनस्पति मुख्यतः सागौन, साल, बांस और प्रमुख पेड़ों की जा रही टर्मीनालिया साथ उष्णकटिबंधीय शुष्क पर्णपाती वन के शामिल हैं. अभयारण्य में पाए अन्य प्रमुख पौधों Semal, महुआ, बेर और तेंदु शामिल हैं. अमीर और रसीला वनस्पति कवर अभयारण्य में वन्य जीवन की एक विस्तृत विविधता का समर्थन करता है. बारनवापारा अभयारण्य शामिल हैं बाघ, स्लॉथ बीयर, उड़ने वाली गिलहरी, सियार, चार सींग वाला हिरण, तेंदुए, चिंकारा, ब्लैक बक, जंगली बिल्ली, बार्किंग डीयर, साही, बंदर, बायसन, धारीदार हाइना, जंगली कुत्ते, चीतल, के प्रमुख वन्यजीव सांभर, नील गाय, गौर, Muntjac, कुछ नाम करने के लिए जंगली सूअर, कोबरा, अजगर. अभयारण्य भी प्रमुख तोते, बुलबुल, सफेद पूंछ वाले जानवर, ग्रीन Avadavat, कमजोर kestrels, मोर, लकड़ी Peckers, रैकेट पूंछ ड्रोंगो, Egrets, और हेरोन्स नाम करने के लिए किया जा रहा है कुछ के साथ एक बड़े आकार का पक्षी आबादी है. बारनवापारा वन्यजीव अभयारण्य के दौरे के सभी वन्य जीवन के प्रति उत्साही, पक्षी प्रेमियों और प्रकृति प्रेमियों के लिए एक रोमांचक और पुरस्कृत अनुभव हो वादा किया है.
