**Avoid Mercure Barsha Heights – Terrible Experience All Around**
I cannot begin to describe how disappointed I am with our stay at Mercure Barsha Heights in Dubai. From the moment we arrived, it was a nightmare. Our check-in was delayed by over one and a half hours, which was frustrating enough, but it only got worse from there. They also kept getting our genders wrong and referring to us as Sir and Mr. This was also displayed on the television which is super offensive.
When we finally made it to our room, it was far from ready. It hadn’t been properly cleaned, the floors are grimy and the amenities were sorely lacking. There were only enough drinking glasses and toilet paper for **one person** when we had **booked for three**. Seriously? Not only that, but the **telephones didn’t work** in our room, leaving us completely cut off from the front desk or any assistance.
To make matters worse, we were placed on the **40th floor** (why??), and the lifts took an absurd amount of time to arrive every single time. My mother has a heart condition and physically can’t take the strain of walking up and down 40 floors, so this was both frustrating and concerning. It’s as if they don't care about their guests' wellbeing.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, we had to pay for **ice**. I’ve never stayed at a hotel where they charge you for something so basic. But the cherry on top was when Emil, the staff member who came to try and resolve our issues, couldn’t do anything to fix the situation.
And just when I thought it couldn’t get worse, we woke up this morning to discover that there was no **iron** in the room. Honestly, I’m at my wit’s end. This hotel completely fails to live up to even basic standards of hospitality and comfort.
If you value your time, money, and sanity, do **NOT** stay at Mercure Barsha Heights. This place is a joke.
