The Barzani Foundation is a non-governmental, non-political, non-independent organization operating in the private sector in more than one region of Kurdistan-Iraq. Managing camps for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and refugees, providing aid and assistance to those identified as having special needs, and providing orphans (dear ones) with special needs are among the most important activities of the Barzani Foundation.
The Foundation has been operating in line with Thaniyani's immortal saying, "A new pride lies in serving one's people" since its founding and continues to provide its services.
Established in 2005 in Erbil, the capital of Greater Kurdistan, it is now a member of the European Union and has an official office in the United States. Mr. Masrour Barzani is the Chairman of the Founding Board of the Barzani Foundation.
The Barzani Foundation has been officially licensed to operate under the Kurdistan Region and the Iraqi government, and has also been officially licensed to operate in the United States since 2016.
In April 2016, she served as a United Nations Administrative and Coordination Committee member, before becoming a consultative member of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
