Absolutely horrible and humiliating experience. As an American Soldier, I did not “choose” to come to this country for leisure I answered the call to support an ongoing ceasefire mission involving Israel and Hamas. After completing my duties and attempting to exit the country to return home to my family, I was treated with unnecessary suspicion, disrespect, and incompetence. Airport baggage handlers opened and emptied my bags, as well as the bags of my battle buddies, without regard for professionalism or respect. We were then questioned about why we were carrying military gear despite clearly presenting official orders and valid U.S. military identification. The gear was packed in U.S. marked military bags, making the purpose painfully obvious. This was not a security check it felt like harassment. The lack of coordination, situational awareness, and basic understanding of coalition military movements is unacceptable, especially given the ongoing international operations taking place in this region. Soldiers transiting in and out of country should not be delayed, interrogated, or treated like criminals while simply trying to go home after completing their mission. There needs to be a serious review and correction of procedures for handling military personnel. What happened was inefficient, disrespectful, and completely avoidable. No service member should be treated this way after serving in support of a mission they were ordered to execute.

Leider kann man nicht weniger als einen Stern geben, beim Check in des Gepäcks von Lufthansa, die Damen am Schalter wurden extra von mir vorgewarnt das ich weiter eine Reise anstrebe der Koffer aber doch bitte nicht weitergegeben werden soll, sodass ich ihn selber abholen kann und den Zug früher nehmen kann und nicht erst noch im Flughafen 6-7 Stunden warten muss. Mit nur einer extra bewusst gemachten Sache muss ich jetzt 6-7 Stunden am Flughafen auf den nächsten Zug warten. Nur weil eine egoistische Mitarbeiterin denkt sie würde es besser wissen. Ps: ich habe mich explizit vergewissert ob es die Fluggesellschaft veranlasst hat oder der Flughafen, es waren die Damen der Sicherheit die zuständig waren für „Monitoring of Lagguage“

December 2022 4* Arrival ———- This was my first visit to Isreal so was little apprehended about immigration but I would say that the process was very smooth. It is long walk from the gate to immigration. One need to get the slip from the machine before going to immigration counter. I must say that process was very smooth and quick. If you are landing on Friday (evening) or Saturday night, be ready to experience Shabbat. Public transport (rail) will not be working and less numbers of taxis on the road. This, you will need to wait in the long queue for the same. Departure —————- The departure was smooth as there are couple of security check. You need to first go through security check before getting your boarding card. After collecting boarding pass, there is security check, followed by passport control. Process was smooth but you should keep one hour extra for departure. There are duty free area with multiple options, including toys, books, clothes and other shops. Boarding area is not very clearly segregated and difficult to find boarding sequence.

漂亮的機場~~ 使用以色列的風雲人物作為出境路線的佈置，出入境檢查的人員坐的小房間好狹小，不知道會不會得憂鬱症，機場附近的還租車的廣場有接駁車來往第一、第三航廈，通常不用錢，是個租車完的好選擇。往出境櫃檯的半路上有一面牆是時鐘，是小汽車在跑然後排列成時刻，很有趣可愛。機場的郵局在出境掛行李後往商店小吃部走的最左邊，有要寄明信片的這是倒數第二次的機會，因為聽說進去之後還會有(?)我沒注意到，但小吃部旁邊那個是最順路的了，裡面的免稅價跟外面的打折後再扣稅差不多，差別在於如果之後要再轉機的話，可能不能超過100mL，另外餅乾糖果的話靠近登機門的選擇會比較經濟實惠，退稅的話請市區的店員一定要在明細，還有簽名處蓋店章，任少一個章可能都不能退稅，會產生不必要的話費喔。正常是退17%，但ˋ手續費扣一扣，大概是13%左右。出境的時候會有安全局(?)的人來問妳問題，會問的非常非常細，細到你跟你旅伴是多久以前認識的，怎麼認識的，平常如何維繫關係，各自的工作，職位等等，真的很細節，也不知道是在抓你漏洞還是看你反應的

We were at the airport 3 hours before flight. It went rather smoothly maybe because it is off season. Security check takes a while and we have been asked a lot personal questions like - for how long are we together etc. Also basic ones about luggage. We checked in one bag and went straight to the another security check point and that's that. Airport seems to be very huge, 3 terminals not so close to one another. It is also not so obvious where to go next, better ask each time for guidance.

Ben Gurion International Airport is one of the most beautiful airports I’ve been to. It is a very big airport, with lots of shops, food stands, sitting areas and duty-free shops. The security checks are quite detailed and impressive. One however needs to be careful to follow the signs and directions to avoid missing your way and your flight. The workers are always willing to help with directions. There are lounges for anyone who needs privacy and go-cart for those who need aid in mobility within the airport.

נמל התעופה בן גוריון הוא מרכז התעופה הבינלאומי של מדינת ישראל. אין לנו שדה תעופה אחר. כמעט כל ישראלי שעוזב לחוץ לארץ אחרת מכל סיבה שהיא יעבור כאן. נתחיל בטוב: יש נגישות גבוהה עם תחבורה ציבורית ובדגש על רכבת ישראל, האזור מאוד מאובטח ושמור, המתחם ענקי ויפה, ניכר סדר וארגון ברמה גבוהה גם בהשוואה לעולם. נעבור לפחות טוב: החנייה יקרה בצורה שערורייתית, הנמל על סף קריסה בכל חג או תאריך שיש בו עלייה בביקוש לטוס ונדמה שלא נערכים מראש כנדרש. המחירים, בעיקר של המזון, הם הזויים ובלתי מתקבלים על הדעת.

很有特色的一個機場，出入關的長長廊道很有美感，空間寬敞明亮，廁所也很有設計感且乾淨。 由於是跟團都有領隊提醒相關注意事項，不然相較於其他國家，程序及需注意的事的確有比較繁瑣些，而且不管是出入境，盤問都比較嚴格，而且不讓領隊靠近，不過原以為會很凶，但是意外的親切，雖然全程用英文問答，結束後還特別笑了一下用中文說了“不客氣”。備感親切。 關於物價，由於以色列本上物價就不算低，當然機場裡的東西就貴得嚇人，然後可能是民情的關係，服務人員感覺都比較嚴肅拘謹。

Best major airport in Israel, if not the region. Honestly a delight to see all the art and architecture. Make sure to get Aroma!

המקום מתדרדר יותר ויותר. הוא פשוט מתפרק וזועק לעזרה. לפני חודש היו טיפטופים מהתקרה באולם נחיתות ועכשיו כעבור חודש פשוט מונחים במקומות הטיפטופים קערות וגידרו עם סרטים. השירותים נראים זוועה וזה בתקופה של נוסע וחצי ביום. מקבל פלאשבקים מתחנה מרכזית בתל אביב בכל ביקור שלי בנתב״ג. פעם הייתי גאה שבמדינה שלי יש שדה תעופה כזה מתקדם ויפה והיום מתבאס שאי אפשר לטייל לחו״ל בכרכרה עם חמור

Hayatımda gördüğüm en güzel ve konforlu Havalimanı. Biz ne girişte ne çıkışta hiç beklemedik. Girişte birkaç soru sordular doğal olarak. Çıkışta bavulumuzu teslim edince pasaportumuzu makinalara okutup uçuşu beklediğimiz alana gittik. Kimseyi görmedik kimsede tek soru sormadı. Havalimanında ilk kez sebil gördük. Türkiye’de fahiş fiyatlı olan su orada ücretsizdi. Havalimanının girişindeki alanda kahve ve yiyecekler makul fiyatlarda. Biz dış hatlarda beklerken içeriz demiştik. Oranın fiyatları çok daha yüksek bilginiz olsun. Millet yiyeceğini kendisi getirmiş orta alanda yiyorlardı. Havalimanın da benim için olumsuz olan tek şey tuvaletlerde taharet musluğunun olmaması. Sonrası da gördüğüm birçok kişi elini yıkamadan çıktı. Havalimanı çok modern ve güzel kötü görenlere şaşırdım. Özellikle çanta kontrolü olan alanda kutuların alttan geri dönmesi ve pasaportu makinaya okutup çıkmak havalananının ne kadar iyi olduğunu gösteriyor.

The best airport in central Israel. Good vibes and helpful staff. Don't be intimidated by the security - they are there to keep you safe.

Quand j'y ai passé la barrière de sécurité à un moment je m'étais demandé si j'étais dans une ville ou qw. Tellement l'aéroport est vaste. La construction est époustouflante.. le décor intérieur est digne d'un film hollywoodien 🤩.. pour l'enregistrement des colis et autres je m'attendais à une si longue dure journée mais ça été rapide. On note également une affluence chose normal car l'Israël est une des meilleures destinations touristiques.

In a very simplistic way, airport terminals (at least public, international ones) are a platform business model: where they connect airlines and passengers. These same terminals are therefore measured on the (1) efficiency and (2) quality of that connection experience. For the most part, arrivals are the same at almost every airport: after the plane lands they try to get you out of the airport as fast as possible (i.e., efficiency). Other than a new (June 2023) mural sponsored by the Israel-Latin-America-Network (ILAN) in the exit hall (i.e., experience), and some technology to (unsurprising for Israel) speed the process, this airport treats arrivals like most other airports. Now, their departures are amazing. They place the traveler at the center of the designed experience - and once you're through security (which is a necessary, albeit sometimes frustrating, step) this airport is more like a mall. With things to do to pass the long waiting hours, and even a digital-ordering McDonald's, I have to give this international airport (terminal 3) credit for being, in my opinion, one of the 2-3 best airports that I've experienced anywhere in the world.

The queues at Ben Gurion Airport felt never-ending. Our experience, from stepping onto the long-term parking shuttle to finally reaching passport control, involved navigating a relentless sequence of at least four distinct lines. We first encountered the security check, followed immediately by the check-in counter. Then came baggage screening, and finally, the passport control line. This continuous standing and waiting amounted to a total of two hours and fifteen minutes. It was a truly exhausting start to our journey, spending over two hours on our feet before even reaching the gate.

The airport is easy-to-use and very clean. The staf are not kindly. The checks are many and by unkind employees. When you landed in airport, you self-check in the machine your passport and it prints the visa for entering the country. Then, border police check your passport and what their machine printed and give you a new paper with stamp. You take two steps, and a gum-chewing, grunting clerk takes that piece of paper from you. On take off, they interrogate and ask questions but in unintelligible English. They open checked luggage if they suspect there is a weapon. In my case, it was a nail file. I found a piece of paper inside the luggage with an explanation of why it had been opened. The saw was there, and the luggage was not cluttered. I wouldn't have known they did if it wasn't for the apology note. The good thing is that there are not many shops at the gates and you are not tempted to buy souvenirs or other things.
