Bangalore Palace is a well-maintained heritage attraction that offers a glimpse into the royal history of Bengaluru. The palace architecture is impressive, and the exterior of the building provides excellent opportunities for photography. Visitors can capture beautiful landscape shots as well as selfies with the palace as a backdrop. One positive aspect is that entry is free for differently-abled visitors, which is a thoughtful initiative. Inside the palace, there is a complimentary app-based audio guide that explains the history of the palace and provides information about the various rooms, artifacts, paintings, and royal memorabilia. The audio guide is informative and helps enhance the overall experience. However, I found the entry fee of ₹300 per person to be quite expensive. Another disappointment was that photography is not allowed inside the palace despite the relatively high ticket price. For many visitors, this may reduce the overall value of the experience. The visit itself does not take very long. Around 30 minutes to 1 hour is generally sufficient to explore the palace and listen to the audio guide comfortably. Overall, Bangalore Palace is worth considering if you enjoy visiting historical palaces, learning about royal heritage, and don't mind paying the entry fee. If photography is your main interest, you'll be limited to taking pictures from the outside, where the palace looks most impressive anyway.

One of the beautiful palace I have ever seen. So rich intricacies. The only hitch is excessive crowd. You don't get to see at ease. There's light and sound show as well, though we couldn't witness as it was unfortunately not scheduled the day we visited.

This was the first place i visited post landing in Bengaluru. I visited on weekend so it was a bit crowded but still manageable to exploration. The palace is 19th Century royal landmark owned by Mysore royal family. The architecture mostly looks like England's Castle 🏰. There is a minimal entry fee around 300₹ I don't remember exactly. Upon entering they will provide ipods which contains the audiophiles of the architecture and pictures described properly. They will take out while exiting. I really like this particular feature of audio books. 🎧 The palace is strictly prohibited for any kind of photography or videography. The inside view is pleasing and depicts the history of Karnataka ✨. I particularly liked the outer view of the palace. Overall nice experience. ⛩️

Very good experience to see the inside of palace and it's room and office. The garden outside the palace is also very big and beautiful, but maintenance can be improved. They charge around 300 Rs per person to see the inside of palace. Large car parking also available. Audio guide available with the entry ticket. Entry price can be reduced. No photos allowed inside

Living in a busy city like Bangalore, imagine exploring an old monumental place like a palace. Which is in the core of the city. One of the most beautiful palaces that I have ever seen. The architecture is really preserved as it is very neat and clean maintenance. Especially the first floor, which is full of peace and serenity. The price of the ticket is 300. I feel the price is more. And one more thing you are not allowed to take any pictures or videos. Once you enter the palace. This is also something which I didn’t like. Maybe if you can take permission, photos will be allowed. Have a good time, folks.

Bangalore Palace is famous for its striking Tudor-style architecture modeled after Windsor Castle, featuring fortified towers, elegant wood carvings, and opulent interior decor. It is renowned for its vast collection of 19th-century paintings (including Raja Ravi Varma), chandeliers, and Tudor-style interiors. Key features and highlights of Bangalore Palace include: Architecture: A blend of Tudor and Scottish Gothic styles with Tudor-style architecture. Interiors: Ornate, vine-covered walls, stained glass windows, and luxurious, old-fashioned chandeliers. Artifacts & Art: A curated museum containing memorabilia, old photographs of the Wadiyar dynasty, and paintings. Woodwork: Intricate, high-quality wood carvings and structures, particularly in the ballroom and darbar hall. Grounds: Expansive, well-maintained gardens that host major concerts, cultural events, and exhibitions. The palace was built in the 19th century and remains a major tourist attraction, having served as a private residence for the Wadiyar dynasty. Audio guide available. For that carry physical aadhar card or driving licence. You can keep your mobile with you but photography inside is not allowed. Plenty of parking available. No charge for parking.

Recently, I visited Bengaluru with high expectations after seeing many positive posts and videos online. While the city has its own charm, modern infrastructure, and opportunities, my personal experience was not as satisfying as I expected. Heavy traffic, crowded areas, and the overall pace of the city made it difficult for me to fully enjoy the visit. That said, every place offers a different experience to different people. Bengaluru remains an important city with a unique culture and growing opportunities, but for me, this trip didn't quite live up to the expectations created by social media.

It's a place you can visit if you have a couple of hours spare in your itenary or you if you in architecture and a bit of history. Point to note: was not able to find a online ticket site, I am pretty sure online booking is not there. We went on a Saturday, the crowd was not much and we got a ticket in 5 min. The audio guide comes in the ticket price but is optional, there is a seperate queue for that and it moves pretty slow. The ticket was 300 rupees per adult. The audio guide gives good references and is good to have, reminded me of couple of museums and places visited in Europe. Overall the space they allow tourists is very limited and the palace should have been maintained more for the price they are charging. The wall painting/color has faded, there is a lot of dust every where the lighting could have been better. The bathrooms should definitely be better. There should be a small eatery and definitely a gift shop. There are few Ravi Verma paintings to see there, most of the other paintings are replicas and not originals. Overall go if you have time or are a history or architecture enthusiast if not you can spik this, won't be missing much.

Bangalore Palace is a very beautiful place to visit. The entry ticket costs ₹300 per person. Mobile phones and cameras are not allowed inside the palace, so there’s no need to carry them in. An audio guide is available at the entrance and can be easily obtained by submitting a physical ID card. Make sure to carry a valid physical ID to get the audio guide. It’s also advisable to carry cash for purchasing entry tickets.

Such a vibe. The architecture is gorgeous and the interior details—especially the woodwork—are on another level. It really feels like stepping back in time for an hour just wandering through the rooms. I didn’t even take the audio tour and still totally loved just taking in the atmosphere. So worth the visit!

Bangalore Palace, completed in 1878 by the royal Wodeyar Dynasty during the reign of Maharaja Chamarajendra Wadiyar X, was inspired by grand English Windsor castles and built with strong grey granite stone. The palace grounds also feature a century-old Sacred Fig tree, adding natural beauty and timeless charm to its royal history.

Visited on February 15, 2026. Entry fee is ₹300 for Indian visitors, with different pricing for foreign nationals. Note that only cash and cards are accepted — no UPI payments, so plan accordingly. Audio guides are available with a refundable deposit of one valid ID proof. Photography inside the palace is not allowed. Washrooms are available inside after entry, and there is ample parking space on the premises. The palace architecture and interiors reflect rich royal heritage and offer good insight into Indian history. Worth visiting once, especially for history and architecture enthusiasts.

Bengaluru Palace is a must-visit site in Bengaluru — a symbol of architectural elegance, cultural legacy, and the aristocratic grandeur of the Wadiyar kings who ruled the erstwhile princely State of Mysore for nearly five centuries (1399–1947). The original structure was begun in 1873 by Rev. J. Garrett. The same year, it was purchased by the guardians of the minor Maharaja, Chamarajendra Wadiyar X, and later developed into a royal palace, with major works completed by 1878. Inspired by England’s Windsor Castle, the palace reflects Tudor-style architecture with fortified towers, arches, wood carvings, stained glass windows and an impressive Durbar Hall. The vintage furniture, royal portraits and artefacts inside offer a glimpse into the lifestyle of Mysore royalty. The entry ticket priced at ₹240 may seem on the higher side. Each point inside the palace is marked with serial numbers and explained through an audio guide system. However, to obtain the earphones, visitors must deposit an original identity card, which may feel slightly inconvenient. The sprawling complex is neatly maintained and the well-kept gardens further enhance its regal charm. In short, Bengaluru Palace offers a fascinating insight into royal heritage and architectural splendour — a worthwhile visit despite the slightly expensive entry fee.
