We stayed at Raman’s Airbnb during our year-end trip, especially over the Christmas days. We were here for just two days and truly wished we could have stayed longer—but we’ll save that for the future. The surroundings and views are absolutely beautiful, and the Airbnb looks exactly like the pictures—if not better. It’s truly Pinterest-worthy. On the ground floor, there’s a lovely café where you can enjoy breakfast and coffee. The first floor has a bookstore, and oh my goodness—the collection is huge! It gives such a charming English cottage vibe. The rooms are spotless and thoughtfully equipped with everything one needs during winter. We stayed in a room with an attached balcony, and it was incredibly cozy—perfect for standing there anytime, enjoying homemade Maggi and tea. Raman is a wonderful host—very attentive, well-behaved, and a great guide. MG Marg is just a 7–8 minute walk away, and the road leading there is really pretty. If you walk uphill, you can even catch a clear sunrise. Overall, I would strongly recommend this Airbnb. Trust me, it’s even more beautiful than the pictures.

Beautiful home. Electric blanket for the winter. Everything has been well thought of for our convenience. Loved our stay. Will be staying here whenever we're in Gangtok!

The BnB was at a very great location near to the market, walking distance from MG Marg & Westpoint mall and also serviceable by swiggy/zomato. Room & washroom was extremely clean & hygiene was taken good care of. The cafe below serve freshly prepared snacks/coffee on request. Staff were also friendly n helpful. It was a good experience to live surrounded by nature and books, match perfectly blended together with the aroma of coffee.

Stayed here several times during my time in Sikkim and highly recommend. The rooms were very cozy and clean—plus they had all the amenities including towels, bed warmer, water kettle, tea, coffee etc. The bookstore was a lovely place to spend time and had a great selection of books. The cafe was so nice to have onsite so you had the option of “staying in” for breakfast, lunch or dinner and the food and coffee were yummy! Raman was very accommodating and a huge help with making our time in Sikkim lovely. Highly recommend.

Great place to stay in gangtok. Short walk to MG, and clean spacious rooms. Host is a really cool guy, very helpful and is enjoyable to talk to. What's better than waking up in the morning and walking downstairs to a bookstore cafe with the best tasting coffee in Sikkim?

The room was very cosy, warm and clean. All basic amenities were provided. The cafe and the bookstore below are a perfect place to spend time. The location is great and minutes away from the MG marg and also the handicraft centre. Overall great value for the price.

Located one floor above Rachna Books and two floors above Cafe Fiction, Bookman's BnB is the perfect place to stay when in Gangtok. This property is one of a kind and is so beautifully and thoughtfully designed. Rooms are clean, cosy and comfortable. We had a great time staying here and i mean it ☺️. Our host Mr. Raman was friendly, responsive and welcoming. Thank you so much for this unique and wonderful experience. And we would definitely love to come back.😍

We had a pleasant stay at Raman's bnb. It is right in front of Manan bhawan, 10 min walk from MG Road. We were okay to walk this much so it was not an issue for us. You can easily get around, cabs are available on walking distance. We didn't get a chance to explore the cafe and library. Check-in and check out was smooth. Raman was always a call away. There are clear instructions/manuals in each room - what is available on request, what will be charged , geyser heating time etc. This helps you to plan accordingly! Coming to the room - We opted for red room. Bit small than expected. But everything was neat and clean. As mentioned in listing, room is back facing with no view. The only issue we faced was with the taps! Cold water was coming at snails speed and to get hot water you need to rotate all 3 taps in some different combination. This was bit of a hassle. I hope Raman fix this :) Also geyser takes around 45 mins to heat which was clearly communicated on checkin. Room was cleaned on daily basis so no issues in that department. On our last day Raman was kind enough to upgrade us to a bigger room. If you're not on a budget you can definitely go for their bigger rooms. Bigger room had smaller washroom but came with modern fittings and really worked for us. This rooms was worth the money and better than the one we opted for. Geyser took 30 mins in this room. All in all good experience at Bookman's. Safe for travellers!

Excellent place to stay. Location wise just 5/6 min walking distance from MG Marg. So close to the main market area, still zero crowd. Under one roof you can find a Cafe, a bookstore & a nice homestay. One thing I can assure, all of them are unique by it's own nature & class. Nevertheless Raman Ji is a nice person.

We spent three days at green room of the stay. The room is spacious and clean. The balcony view is comfortable. Other amenities are best suited for Gangtok weather. Location is too good. Just a 10 minutes walk from M G marg. The cafe and the bookstore may be added menu for you. Raman the host is available to help you always. Don't compare the stay as a hotel. Explore Gangtok differently.

We had a great stay. Raman was so kind and offered to make us a dinner when we arrived late. He also arranged a taxi to pick us up in Bagdogra and helped us figure out our itinerary for our week in Sikkim. We extended our stay one night with no problem. Super location; easy to walk everywhere in Gangtok. The bookstore and cafe are an added benefit. We'll be back!

A very comfortable place to be in. Very reasonable and comfortable to stay in. Very close to MG road. They have a very cozy coffee shop, which serves a very decent spread along with a great cup of coffee with a big smile. For book lovers they have a book shop where you can pic up a book and spend a great deal of time with your favourite book along with a cup of hot coffee or cold .

Raman and Rakwsh took good care of their guests. Their USP is undoubtedly the attached bookshop and cafe. The experience is quite romantic and well worth the cost. Their location is also quite enviable - away from the touristy crowd but within a 10 min walk from MG Marg. Rakesh also looks after the cafe but was always available for all our needs. Thanks to the both of you and keep up the good work!

During my All India trip with my adventurous 7-year-old, a delightful twist of fate led us to this hidden gem. As luck would have it, our previously booked stay in Gangtok got canceled, setting the stage for a serendipitous encounter. It was as if the universe conspired to introduce us to the extraordinary host couple, Mr. and Mrs. Raman. From the moment we arrived, their warm smiles embraced us, instantly making us feel at home. Not only were the rooms exquisitely comfortable, but their charming bookstore and café added a touch of magic to our traveler's journey. But it wasn't just the cozy accommodations and delightful ambiance that made this place special; it was the people who breathed life into it. And how could I ever forget dear Sara? My son formed an instant bond with her, relishing in her playful company. Mr. and Mrs. Raman went above and beyond to ensure our every need was met. They left no stone unturned in their quest to make us feel comfortable and cherished. We were honoured when they graciously hosted a dinner for us and prepared a scrumptious breakfast on our final day. As we exchanged tales of our adventures and shared life experiences, the connection between us grew stronger with each passing moment. It was as if the threads of fate had woven our paths together, creating an indescribable bond of friendship and warmth. Every second spent in their company was a treasured memory etched in our hearts. I find myself yearning to return, to revisit this haven of joy if ever fate guides me back to Gangtok. For it is not just a place to rest one's head but a sanctuary where kindred spirits unite. I am eternally grateful for the unforeseen circumstances that led us here, for they gifted us the opportunity to meet Mr. and Mrs. Raman, the epitome of hospitality and kindness. I apologize for putting up this so late here but whenever I count the generosity of Indian people during my all-India trip, this place always stands out among others.

The Rachana Bookstall is a treasure trove of great books.. elegant decor... The cafe has very limited option for vegetarians and almost nil for vegans.. As for the bnb, all amenities in place.. Housekeeping happened 1/2 days we spent there. And a lukewarm host who had a misunderstanding with my mother and was rude to her for no fault of hers. The lights of the common areas and stairway are all switched off as early as 2000 hrs making it tough to find your way back to room after dinner.. Not wheelchair accessible.

I have been this placed while travelling to Sikkim. Iust say that this is one of the best air B&B I have experienced so far. It contains library with huge collections of good books which really we find. They have a good cafe come cookie shop. Owner is very helpful and welcoming. The rooms are also well placed and maintenance.

Thanks to our friend Prayash, we get to know about this awesome place for our Gangtok stay . Near to the M G market, still away from the hustle bustle of the city (10 mins walking).. Its not like the tradition hotel nor like a homestay , somewhat in between giving the pros of both .. I just loved it . Rooms are cozy ,clean and comfortable .Rooms are at 3rd floor , 2nd floor they have the bookstore and in the ground they have the cafe .. The collection of the bookshops is simply mind blowing specially equipped with books from local authors(which is hard to get in kolkata or in flipkart).The cafe was also awesome .. Just take cup of coffee spend your tym around the bookshop , I ensure u will love it .. Raman was a nice and wonderful host .. He helped us out with whatever is required .I loved his concept of combining the bookshop and stay togather. We will definitely stay back here , whenever coming back to Gangtok again .. I would have given half star to this restaurant if that would have been the option. Owner of this cafe Aparna is extremely rude and no manners how to handle a guests. We went to this cafe with our 14 months old baby and by mistake he took their thermacol Christmas snowflake on that she was so rude that my decoration is more important than your kid and this is not done what your kid has done to my thermacol snowflake. We were like really…I think her cafe’s decoration is more important than her customers Highly disappointed Please don’t go to this cafe if you have kids Pathetic
