Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu, The mosque's emphasis on unity and inclusivity is evident in its diverse congregation and community outreach initiatives. Overall, it's a beacon of faith and fellowship, making a significant positive impact on the lives of many. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a strong and supportive Islamic community. My name is Abdul Rehman, and I am from Pakistan. It made me very happy to hear that even in a country like the United States, there are institutions dedicated to spreading Islamic teachings and improving the lives of others. May Allah reward them with goodness. I have completed my Bachelor's in Islamic Studies, and I am also in the final year of my Aalim course. If any brother or sister wishes to learn Islamic teachings from me, they can contact me.

All praise is due to Allah for establishing this masjid and enriching the world with the intellect and wisdom of its imams. Tracing their Islam in America back to African ancestors, and reinforcing their Islam with African-trained hafiz prayer leaders in Ramadan, the masjid offers a wholesome and redemptive experience, especially for those of African descent. All Muslims are welcome though (and yes there are regulars of every shade and background). If you're early enough to get a spot on Jumah Friday, it's better to expect to stay as the kutbas go for a good 45-55 worthy minutes and with the prayer and networking afterwards, don't expect to leave before 2:30. If you can't enrich yourself with the presence of these honorable devotees, then don't miss the kutba on Youtube at MIB Harlem channel.

Small, historical masjid that occupies the first two floors of a residential building. Historically founded in 1968, the place is very clean, and the predominantly African-American congregation of Muslims are very kind and welcoming to visitors. Imam Talib Abdul Rasheed gives very powerful, thought provoking khutbahs. Great Masjid to visit and make Salah whenever you visit harlem.

I’ve been back and forth to this Masjid since childhood. The brothers here respect Islamic culture to the fullest, and their interpretation of Quran has shed light on some of my deepest misunderstandings. I’d implore all my brothers to visit here next Jamah inhalla.

On the contrary to the former review, this musalah is in fact on the corner of St Nicholas and 115th Street. I happened by last month (September 2013). The adhan and prayer can be listened to in the street- which is how we located it. It also has a green awning over the entry with the name printed in white. This place has quite the history as well, originally part of Muslim Mosque Inc, founded by the late Malik Shabazz, a.k.a., Malcolm X, (RA).

In 1964, Malcolm X converted to ‘orthodox’ Islam, changing his name to El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz and performing Haj. While in Makkah, Shabazz was struck by the absence of racial hierarchy under Islam, abandoning his black separatist position and splitting with the Nation of Islam. Back in New York, he founded a Sunni mosque, now called the Mosque of Islamic Brotherhood Inc., located on 113th Street and St. Nicholas Ave.

The place is nice and clean. The place could be closed if you go before or after a salah because they have to work as well as running the place
