Brown's | Avenue Hotel

We just spent 3 days at Brown’s Ave and it was a wonderful stay. The location was convenient, just a block off Avenue Liberdade with easy walking to many shops and restaurants. The breakfast in the restaurant offered a simple but delicious buffet and a short list of à la carte items. The service throughout was prompt, cheery, and helpful. We had one of the suites, room 606 and it’s the only guest room on its floor. I can’t stress enough how quiet it was! Not only could we not hear any other guests, but there was hardly any noise coming from outside, despite being just a block off one of the busiest streets in Lisbon. We slept with the sliding door open each of our three nights. My only complaints, which are minimal, was that there was an overwhelming perfume in the room that was so strong it gave me a headache, but when I asked the front desk about it they said that housekeeping sprays a scent on the duvet cover and they brought me a new one without any perfume on it, which solved the problem. Also, the bed and pillows were both much more firm than I prefer and I found myself tossing and turning. But if you like a firm bed then it won’t be a problem for you. We had a rental car and they provided valet service for a $40 overnight parking fee. Pool deck was very small, but at this time of year it was obviously too cold to use anyway but may be a nice spot to sit out in the summer.

Beautiful hotel with extremely friendly staff. Everything about this hotel screams high standards with a very calm vibe. I loved the little touches like the Marshall Speaker and the Smeg fridge. The library element throughout the hotel is clear and adds to the calm vibe. The Honesty bar is a nice little touch and the rooftop area is a real added bonus. The beds are extremely comfortable and the shower is fantastic, the shampoo and body wash supplied smell amazing!! The hotel is extremely close the Avenida Metro stop on the blue line. This makes it ideal for exploring everything the stunning city has to offer.

Excellent séjour. Nous avons été très bien accueillis et le personnel a été aux petits soins tout au long de notre passage. La chambre était parfaite. Seul petit bémol, le Chromecast de notre chambre ne fonctionnait pas et il nous a été impossible de le connecter, ce qui est dommage. Mais comme vous le voyez, je chipote tant tout le reste était irréprochable. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir dans les hôtels Brown. Bravo également au restaurant ainsi qu’à l’animation, qui ont largement contribué à la qualité de notre séjour.

We stayed at Brown’s, a boutique hotel and overall had a pleasant experience. Most of the staff were friendly and welcoming, especially the team at the restaurant. We had dinner there and the food was spectacular. Gabriel, our waiter, was extremely professional, attentive, and friendly, which truly enhanced our dining experience. The room was very cozy, well decorated, and comfortable. The location is also excellent, close to everything and very convenient. The only point that stood out in a less positive way was the room cleaning after our first night. Some basic amenities were not replaced, and a wet towel was left behind, which was a bit disappointing. As a side note, the hotel restaurant does not have a proper covered connection to the main building. Since it was raining, it was inconvenient that no umbrella was offered and no assistance was provided to open the door when going to breakfast or dinner. This small gesture would have made a big difference to the experience as a 5 star hotel. Overall, it is a charming hotel with great food, friendly staff, and a fantastic location. With a bit more attention to detail, the experience could be excellent.

I had an incredible stay at Brown’s Avenue Hotel in Lisbon. The hotel is super chic and modern, with high-end amenities throughout. The lobby is stunning—beautifully designed with plenty of comfortable seating—and the separate library space is equally stylish and cozy. My room was comfortable, well-equipped, and a relaxing place to unwind. The staff were consistently warm and positive. The highlight, though, was the hotel restaurant. Truly outstanding. I enjoyed both breakfast (buffet + menu) and a delicious steak dinner—all 5/5 meals with excellent service to match. The location is also fantastic: an easy walk to Alfama and other central neighborhoods, and just a quick Bolt ride away from anywhere else in the city. I’d absolutely stay here again—honestly, I wouldn’t even look elsewhere next time!

位於寧靜安全的區域，雖然離車站有點小距離（步行約五分鐘），但是優點太多了，有健康烹飪出的美味清爽早餐，得了米其林的餐廳，提供的食物非常迷人。除此，房間的床鋪舒適可以舒服入睡，整體建築和室內佈置呈現出設計師的品味與創意。最令人激賞的是，有熱情好客的服務團隊，隨時關注我們的需求。整體而言，超越里斯本其他五星旅館的水準。值得我們再次入住！

A minha estadia no Brown’s | Avenue Hotel foi muito agradável. Trata-se de um hotel muito bem decorado, confortável e silencioso. As suítes estão bem equipadas, com todos os utensílios necessários, como chaleira, minibar, máquina de café e até uma coluna “Marshall” para colocar música ao nosso gosto — pequenos detalhes que fazem a diferença. A cama é extremamente confortável e aconchegante. Um detalhe que merece destaque é o cartão de boas-vindas personalizado no quarto, acompanhado pela oferta de duas natas deliciosas. Na receção, o hotel disponibiliza sempre três jarros com bebidas variadas, como limonada, chá e laranjada, de forma gratuita, demonstrando um cuidado extra com quem lá fica. O espaço destaca-se pela limpeza e higiene. Os colaboradores são prestáveis, atenciosos e educados. Sem dúvida, uma excelente opção de alojamento, à qual voltarei com todo o gosto.

Staying at Browns Avenue Hotel was an amazing experience: 1. There was Marshall Speaker in our room. 2. At breakfast, we had blueberries and raspberries every day. I had never seen that before. 3. The staff were very friendly and helpful 4. It was my birthday, and they congratulated me and gave me a bottle of wine.

I arrived late and left for the airport next morning so could not comment on the hotel location. But it is a great small hotel. The room was stunning and the reception staff excellent. I headed to the restaurant with a degree of hesitation. I assumed that because the hotel was small it would be a small restaurant. But I stepped into a bustling lively restaurant where I had a great burger and local wines. Really nice meal. I have been to Lisbon a few times and this is the best value for money I have dxperienced. I will be back!

Excelente hotel, com localização privilegiada, atendimento impecável e acomodações de altíssimo nível. O quarto é amplo, moderno e extremamente confortável. Diogo nos recebeu de forma excepcional, muito solícito, simpático e acolhedor. Ser bem recebido, com aquela sensação de estar em casa, faz toda a diferença na experiência. A localização é simplesmente maravilhosa, a apenas uma rua da Avenida da Liberdade. Fica próximo a cafeterias, restaurantes, lojas e diversos pontos turísticos. É muito agradável sair caminhando e conseguir fazer praticamente tudo a pé. Infelizmente não tivemos a oportunidade de experimentar o café da manhã, mas jantamos no restaurante do hotel e a experiência foi excelente. A comida é muito saborosa, o atendimento é atencioso e o ambiente é lindíssimo. E o quarto merece um destaque especial, extremamente confortável e espaçoso, com um banheiro muito bom, chuveiro excelente, cama confortável, ar-condicionado funcionando perfeitamente e uma decoração linda, moderna e com tudo novo. Ah, e super silencioso. Sem dúvida, voltaria a me hospedar no Brown’s. Hotel de excelente qualidade! :)

It Started at the Door At the door we met Adélia. That changed everything. She has proper manners — the old kind — and she actually looks at you when you speak. She listens. She pays attention. No rush, no fake smiles. Just professionalism done right. She is a real asset to the hotel, and honestly, she set the tone for the whole stay. Because of her, everything felt easier. The hotel itself is stylish, clean, well put together. Rooms are comfortable, modern, and quiet enough to rest after walking the city all day. Nothing excessive, nothing missing. Breakfast was very good. Fresh, well organized, and calm. It did what breakfast should do — started the day properly. Location works. Central, easy to move around, close to where you want to be without feeling trapped in noise. But what stays with you is people. And Adélia made the stay memorable. That kind of professionalism is rare.

Avis très défavorable – Browns Avenue Hotel, Lisbonne Séjour de près de 15 jours en couple, et une immense déception. Le niveau de service est indigne d’un établissement qui se veut haut de gamme. Le personnel de la réception, en particulier, s’est montré impoli, froid, peu serviable et parfois méprisant, sans aucune notion de l’hospitalité ni du respect du client. À aucun moment nous ne nous sommes sentis accueillis ou considérés. Un hôtel qui affiche ce standing devrait offrir professionnalisme, courtoisie et sens du service — or ici, c’est tout l’inverse. Le classement actuel ne reflète absolument pas la réalité vécue sur place : zéro étoile en termes de service humain. Quant à la réputation gastronomique associée à l’hôtel, elle est largement surévaluée et ne mérite en aucun cas d’être associée à une quelconque reconnaissance de type étoile Michelin, surtout avec une expérience client aussi médiocre en amont. Nous repartons avec un sentiment de frustration et de temps perdu, et nous ne recommanderons absolument pas cet hôtel. À éviter, surtout si vous attendez du respect, de la politesse et un minimum de professionnalisme.

Charming Aesthetics, But Some of the Rudest Service I’ve Ever Experienced This was our first trip to Portugal, and we chose Brown’s Avenue Hotel for our first night based on its photos and the promise of a cute, boutique atmosphere in a walkable area. While the hotel is aesthetically charming, it ultimately fell far short of expectations—mainly due to shockingly poor service. The Good The hotel is visually very cute, with thoughtful touches in the room such as a complimentary bottle of wine, a Bluetooth speaker, and interesting books. Breakfast was lovely, with a generous spread of fruit, yogurt, pastries, eggs, meats, cheeses, and more, plus an à la carte menu for additional items. The location is very walkable. The Not-So-Good The room was extremely small—even by European boutique standards. For a five-star property, the space felt uncomfortably tight. The neighborhood, while high-end, wasn’t what we were looking for. Think Fifth Avenue in New York: designer stores like Louis Vuitton and Prada, but not much of the charm we hoped for. The Very Bad: Service This is where the experience completely unraveled. After an exhausting long-haul travel day, we arrived to a doorman who seemed irritated as he moved cones to let our driver pull in. Inside, the front desk staff greeted us with four frowning faces—no warmth, no welcome, and certainly no hospitality. One woman in particular seemed almost delighted to tell me: that our room wouldn’t be ready for another five hours, and which areas of the hotel we would not be allowed to access due to private events. Her tone and demeanor were shockingly rude. I’ve traveled extensively, and I can honestly say I have never encountered service this unfriendly at any hotel, let alone one claiming to be five stars. After reading other recent reviews, it’s clear our experience was not an isolated one. Thankfully, one woman in the restaurant was polite and actually smiled. She was the lone bright spot in an otherwise unpleasant service experience. Final Thoughts We were only staying one night, and we were relieved to move to a four-star hotel in Baixa the next day—one with larger, more comfortable rooms and far friendlier staff. Brown’s Avenue may look like a five-star boutique hotel, but the customer service was nowhere near that level. Unfortunately, the rude and unwelcoming behavior overshadowed what could have been a perfectly nice stay.

Location is convenient and centralised while away from the hustle and bustle. It was a nice stay, reception staff were helpful and experience at the restaurant during our breakfast is great because of the staff. While on our last morning we got to meet Joanne and Claudio who were nice, we were served by Rui for three consecutive mornings and he was amazing.

I really want to recommend this hotel because it’s truly amazing! The rooms are clean, well-maintained, and everything is just perfect. The reception staff are incredibly polite and helpful — honestly, everyone working at the front desk is just fantastic 👌 They even surprised me with a birthday greeting, which was such a lovely and thoughtful gesture 🎉 The location of the hotel is great — it’s peaceful, yet very easy to reach by taxi. Overall, I had such a positive experience here and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting! 🌟

This hotel is stunning. They have a pillow menu!! We ate at the restaurant quite a few times. Amazing every time . One block away from the main strip you’re going to avoid all the noise but be walking distance to everything . also twice a month they have local musicians play live downstairs. You have to reserve a seat as they fill up quickly. we were on our vacation for a while in 3 countries and this hotel was one of the highlights. Totally blown away

Adorámos a estadia no Browns Avenue, um verdadeiro encanto no centro de Lisboa. Desde a simpatia e profissionalismo da equipa da receção até aos colaboradores do restaurante e do bar, tudo foi irrepreensível. O buffet de pequeno-almoço é muito variado e de excelente qualidade. A cama era extremamente confortável, tornando a experiência ainda mais agradável. Parabéns a toda a equipa!

Great hotel to stay in and the location is fantastic. It also has a small but stylish roof terrace. The reception team were great with a warm welcome and were very friendly and helpful .. however the restaurant team did struggle to serve everyone at breakfast, but the reception team were very apologetic and said this would improve

I booked the hotel through booking with Black Friday discount, the rooms are well designed, it feels like a luxurious boutique hotel, they really took care of small details inside the room, the staff are really helpful and welcoming, the hotel is new and relatively small but does offer great services. Would definitely recommend it to you all 🥰
