All I can say is wow, what a fantastic view! If you are in Shanghai you have to see this at night, the view is incredible and the photo opportunities are numerous. The view across the river is spectacular and you can sit for a long time just taking it all in, however the view in all directions is pretty amazing, all buildings are lit up with impressive light shows, do not miss this opportunity if you’re in Shanghai as a tourist.

The Bund is a signature sight of Shanghai. Its where you can really see the new and the old Shanghai. The beautiful European colonial buildings contrasting the modern skyscrapers. Great place to come and walk around both day and night. The night light around here really make it a great photo spots. Good location to view the Pearl tower as well.

The Bund is not just a tourist attraction; it’s an essential, breathtaking chapter in the story of Shanghai and, indeed, of modern China. My visit here was nothing short of spectacular, earning a solid and enthusiastic five stars for an experience that engages the senses, educates the mind, and elevates the spirit. Walking along the Zhongshan Road promenade, you are treated to what is arguably one of the most iconic urban vistas on the planet. On one side, you have the stately, gravity-defying skyscrapers of Pudong—the glittering Shanghai Tower, the uniquely bottle-opener-shaped Shanghai World Financial Center, and the pearl of the Oriental Pearl Tower. This forest of glass and steel embodies the dizzying ambition and futuristic vision of 21st-century Shanghai. Then, with a simple turn of the head, you are transported back to the “Paris of the East.” The majestic historical buildings—banks, trading houses, and customs offices—line the west side in a stunning display of Neoclassical, Gothic, and Art Deco architecture. This powerful juxtaposition of old and new, of East and West, is visually stunning and deeply symbolic. The experience evolves beautifully with the time of day. In daylight, the details of the stonework on the historic buildings are crisp, and the Huangpu River bustles with ferries and barges. As dusk falls, the magic truly begins. The sky transforms into a watercolor palette, and then, as if on cue, the Pudong skyline erupts into a synchronized, dazzling light show. The reflections dancing on the river create a double panorama that is simply mesmerizing. The energy is contagious, filled with the happy chatter of visitors from all over the world and locals enjoying their evening stroll. While it can be crowded, that’s part of its vibrancy. For a more serene experience, I highly recommend a Huangpu River cruise to see the panorama from the water, or exploring the back streets behind the Bund to discover beautiful old buildings and cozy cafes. Whether you’re a history buff, an architecture enthusiast, a photographer, or simply a traveler seeking awe, The Bund delivers on every single level.

A landmark of Shanghai where people like to go sightseeing. The lights of every building make this location so beautiful. It is very nice view of river, taking picture is the top most activity of people. It has tunnel to see under the river but has charge. After sightseeing then able to go shopping, have a meal, or other activities at the roads to People Square.

The Bund in Shanghai is genuinely impressive, with its grand riverfront skyline and beautifully preserved historic buildings. The contrast between the classic architecture along the promenade and the modern towers across the water creates a view that feels both elegant and striking. It is a pleasant place for a stroll, especially in the evening when the lights reflect on the Huangpu River, giving the whole area a calm yet vibrant atmosphere.

Absolutely the most iconic spot in Shanghai! The contrast between the historic European-style architecture on one side and the futuristic skyline of Pudong on the other is breathtaking. It is essentially a living museum of the city's history. The promenade is perfect for a long walk, and the photo opportunities are endless. It gets very crowded, especially on holidays, but the view is 100% worth it. A must-visit landmark.
