I recently visited Charcoal Restaurant, and overall, it was a pleasant dining experience with a few highlights worth mentioning. The ambience is definitely one of the best parts of this place. It has a warm, aesthetic vibe with a beautiful rooftop setting that gives you a lovely viewpoint of Udaipur, especially during the evening. The lighting, decor, and overall atmosphere make it a perfect spot for a relaxed dinner or even content creation if you love capturing aesthetic moments. Coming to the service, the staff was polite, attentive, and quick. They made sure everything was served on time and were helpful with recommendations, which added to the overall experience. Now about the food—I ordered Paneer Butter Masala, Baingan Bharta, Garlic Naan, Butter Naan, and Boondi Raita. The quantity and quality of the food were quite good, and everything was served fresh. However, when it comes to taste, I would rate it 3/5. It was decent and satisfying, but not exceptionally memorable or standout in terms of flavors. Overall, Charcoal Restaurant is a great place if you’re looking for a good vibe, beautiful ambience, and quality food with generous portions. While the taste could be slightly better, the overall experience—especially the view and atmosphere—makes it worth visiting at least once.

We visited this restaurant at 6:45 ish in the evening. The views of pichola lake from the top view were spectacular. On the contrary, the food was extremely disappointing. We tried their Avocado chat and Chicken malai tikka. Avocado chat felt more like masala papad toppings and malai tikka had no flavour at all. Won't recommend this place at all especially considering the premium prices which are getting charged. We paid in total ~850 for mediocre food to say the least.

Had a great dining experience here! * The Chipotle Chicken Tikka was absolutely delicious — super juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Definitely one of the highlights. * The Mutton Seekh Kabab was decent, not bad but nothing very special. * But the real star was the Laal Maas with roti — hands down the BEST dish we tried and an absolute must-have if you visit this place. Rich, spicy, authentic, and full of flavor. Would definitely come back again for the Laal Maas alone!

Ristorante al 4 piano di un hotel. Location molto bella e con vista sul lago Pichola. Servizio di qualità e molto veloce. Ambiente curato e moderno. Cibo di grande qualità ma porzioni non troppo abbondanti quindi se si arriva da una giornata in giro, probabilmente 1 solo piatto non basterà. Ottimo anche per sedersi e fare aperitivo o una bevuta post cena.

Delicious food with authentic Rajasthan preparation, terrific service and an UNBELIEVABLE view of both lake and city. I had the yummy laal Maas (mutton curry with just the right amount of spice) with jasmine rice and a sweet and salty lime soda. Perfection.

벌써 두번이나 옴. 돼지고기와 양꼬치 추천합니다. 갈릭새우도 맛있었구요. 탄두리 치킨은 오버쿡되어서 좀 아쉬웠어요. 망고라씨도 맛있으니 꼭 같이 드셔보세오

뷰도 좋고 날씨도 좋고 다 좋았습니다. 음식도 새우 구이가 맛있었고 맥주도 300루피 정도로 괜찮았음. 타고+돼지고기 조합도 맛있었어요

I wish we’d found this place sooner! The food was an amazing meat fest. We had kebabs and satay, gin and tonics and even frozen daiquiris. Everything was made fresh to order. The best peanut satay sauce I’ve ever had. The atmosphere was beautiful. The restaurant does not close at different times of the day, and reservations are not needed, despite some reviews. There is also an elevator.

The food was very delicious and the staffs were very kind. The view is great when you come at sunset and stay until evening! Especially the shrimp skewers are really perfect.

Super Service, guter Glühwein (für mich könnte weniger Wodka beigemischt sein) mit Cardamon & Zimt Note, gutes Tiramisu. Essen war sehr gut - Preis wie in anderen guten Dachterrassen Restaurants. Ca 1000 Rs/Person. Vorteil: Lift bis oben in den 4. Stock!

Terrazza molto bella con una vista splendida. Abbiamo ordinato degli spiedini: il satay era davvero ottimo, mentre l’originale aveva un sapore leggermente acido e, purtroppo, ci ha fatto stare male durante la notte. Vi invitiamo a controllare con attenzione la qualità e la conservazione dei vostri prodotti, perché situazioni del genere rischiano di compromettere l’esperienza di viaggio dei clienti.

Charcoal was an experience in itself. The moment you step on the rooftop, you are taken aback by the excellent views of Lake pichola. Very peaceful, very calm and very instagrammabke vibes. The food was delicious and left us with craving more. The staff was extremely polite and cared for us. Overall, a must visit spot for tourists and Udaipurites.

Nice calm atmosphere! Fine food. Had the best chicken bbq breast here. One of the best views with nice sunset over the city of udaipur!🤩

Super restaurant ! La nourriture est super bonne, les produits sont frais. Le service est assuré par un serveur très amusant. Les plats sont servis avec une légère attente car préparer à la demande (mais cela en vaut largement la peine) Le rooftop à une vue imprenable sur le lac Pichola et le city palace… Super adresse si vous souhaitez manger de la viande cuite au barbecue. Je recommande !!

I love it here. I came back here 3 times of all restaurants in Udaipur. Smoky, well-seasoned bbq. Nice location for the rooftop view. Good vibe, comfy seating and great choice of music. Great staff got everything covered

Fabulous roof top restaurant. Incredible views, lovely ambiance and very attentive staff. Lots of noise coming from other restaurants and the street but all added to the charm. We had half tandoori chicken, an aloo gobi, rice and a couple of rotis- all delicious. One of the best meals we’ve had. Serve alcohol Would definitely recommend.

What a lovely food & vibes. View from this rooftop restaurant is amazing plus the food here is finger licking. I totally loved the tandoor items they’re serving. I tried Prawns , Paneer Chiptole , Asado Tacos & Mocktails. Mr. Mahipal never fails to host you. He’s always there taking dish reviews and everything. A must try restaurant near Lal Ghaat , Udaipur. Highly Recommended

Fuimos a cenar hace dos noches y solo puedo decir que la comida era espectacular. El sitio era muy bonito, estaba muy bien cuidado y muy limpio. La verdad es que cumplió perfectamente con la expectativa que teníamos. Os recomiendo mucho probar los hummus y los nachos

During our second trip to Udaipur, we couldn't resist returning to this charming spot to savor their renowned Dal Bati Churma. I must say, the experience was mostly delightful, though with a few surprises. Let's start with the highlight—the dal. It was absolutely divine, bursting with flavors that truly transported us to culinary heaven. However, I was a bit disappointed that the batis, which are usually soaked in ghee, arrived a little dry this time. The absence of that rich, buttery goodness did affect the overall experience. Another change we noticed was in the churma. They've tweaked the recipe by adding a hint of coconut. While some might enjoy this twist, I personally preferred the earlier version that had a more traditional taste. On the brighter side, the hospitality at this place remains commendable. The staff is warm and attentive, making sure you're well taken care of. And the rooftop view—oh, it’s simply breathtaking! Whether you're a photography enthusiast or just someone who enjoys a good view, you'll find plenty of photo-worthy moments here. We also tried a few other dishes this time—specifically, the aloo paranthas and the machow soup, along with the hot and sour soup. Both the paranthas and soups maintained the high standard of quality we've come to expect from this place. Overall, despite a couple of minor hiccups, it was a wonderful experience. The food is top-notch, the service is excellent, and the view is spectacular. It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in Udaipur!
