Just in awe of the meticulous way the entire campus functions..right from picking the patients from the main campus and dropping them to the ranipettai campus by bus free of cost..the registration and help desks .the sample collection areas..consultation with doctor..everything was happening without any hazzle. But always crowded and the appointment may be delayed. Loved the chapel where we can spend sometime quietly in prayer and the ELS store for quick shopping where we can buy souvenirs..a mighty example of how Dr ida scudder obedience has blessed the entire world.

I visited CMC Vellore Main Campus as a patient, and overall my experience was positive but not without challenges. First, the medical care is genuinely good. The doctors are knowledgeable, experienced, and take time to explain the condition and treatment plan clearly. I felt confident in the diagnosis and the approach they followed. The hospital has advanced facilities and handles even complicated cases efficiently. However, the biggest challenge is the crowd. Since it’s a highly reputed hospital, the patient load is very high. Waiting time can be long — from registration to consultation and even for certain tests. The process requires patience. The staff is generally helpful, though sometimes they appear rushed because of the heavy workload. The campus is well organized, but for first-time visitors, navigating different blocks and departments can feel confusing. Overall, as a patient, I would say the quality of treatment makes it worth it. You need patience and proper planning, but the medical care is reliable and trustworthy. Would recommend, especially for serious or complex health issues.

I recently visited Christian Medical College (CMC) Vellore for my ongoing health issues, and as a 69-year-old, I would like to share my honest experience. CMC has long been regarded as one of the most elite and reputed medical institutes in our country, and I must say that in many aspects, it truly lives up to that name. The senior doctors, especially from the Geriatrics Department, are exceptionally knowledgeable, patient, and sincere. They take the time to listen carefully to every concern, explain the treatment in detail, and reassure us with compassion. Their experience and humility make a huge difference for elderly patients like me, who often feel anxious and fragile. The senior consultants truly embody the values that make CMC a respected institution. However, my experience with some of the younger doctors and supporting staff was not as pleasant. Many of them appeared hurried, impatient, and at times even dismissive. It was disappointing to see that they were often away from their desks, leaving patients and attendants waiting or confused about where to go next. At my age, such lack of attentiveness can be quite stressful. On a positive note, the security guards deserve special mention. They were courteous, alert, and always ready to help elderly patients find their way or carry their bags. Their kindness stood out in contrast to the indifference of some staff members. Overall, CMC Vellore remains a top destination for quality medical care, especially because of its senior doctors. But I sincerely hope the administration emphasizes better discipline, empathy, and presence among the younger medical professionals to uphold the true CMC spirit.

Have visited for treatment of my wife, its genuine place where everyone is equal and treatment as similar. Everyone there is guard so they treat everyone very well. It is very big and celebrating 125 year to this year.

We came to consult Dr. John Mathew from the Rheumatology Department, and like many others, we had to face a long waiting time before the actual consultation. The waiting period can feel tiring and stressful, particularly when a patient is already dealing with ongoing illness and uncertainty. However, once the consultation process began, our perspective changed completely. What truly stood out for us was the human approach followed by the medical team. Even before meeting Dr. John Mathew, the examiner and supporting doctors who interacted with us were extremely kind, calm, and approachable. They showed genuine interest in understanding the patient’s condition in depth. They patiently listened to the entire medical history, without any rush, interruption, or dismissive attitude. Every symptom, concern, and detail that we shared was given importance. Another highly appreciable aspect was how carefully they went through all our previous medical reports. Instead of giving a quick opinion, they checked each report point by point, connecting past findings with the present condition. This level of attention made us feel respected and confident that the case was being handled with seriousness and professionalism. Their patience in listening itself felt like a form of treatment, bringing mental relief and trust, which is equally important for any patient. Dr. John Mathew was also very understanding and professional. He took time to explain the condition, possible causes, and the way forward. His calm demeanor and willingness to listen made us feel safe and supported. In contrast to some other hospitals where we had bad experiences—where doctors seemed rushed and unwilling to listen fully—CMC Vellore stood apart. Here, the focus was clearly on the patient, not just on reports or time limits. In conclusion, while the waiting time at CMC Hospital, Vellore can be long, the quality of care, patience, empathy, and thoroughness shown by the doctors make it truly worth it. The hospital upholds a strong culture of compassionate healthcare, and for patients with chronic or complex conditions, this approach makes a world of difference. We left the hospital with renewed hope and confidence, grateful for the care and understanding we received.

The God of Medical care in India. Best qualified and highly trained doctors across all departments. This should be your hospital of choice for everything. Great crowd management, and greater Queue management. No hope patients, patients will complications have found new life here. Doctors and Nurses are very very polite and helpful. A doctor here took time to explain my doubts for 20mins even though he was done seeing 60 patients. Don't fall for touts or agents, book your appointment online in advance to avoid delay on arrival. 1-2 cases of patient dissatisfaction is there, still then this hospital scores 90% plus

This has been one of the worst hospital experiences for my family. My father was admitted for just 2–3 days, yet we received a bill of more than ₹1 lakh, which felt completely unjustified for the care provided. There is no proper handover between nurses during shift changes. This caused serious confusion and delays, especially during the discharge process. We were charged for a CT scan that never actually happened. When we tried to cancel it and request a refund, the process was extremely hectic. The attender had to chase doctors for signatures, and the nurses offered no help at all. Most of the doctors we interacted with were 4th-year residents. Senior or experienced doctors rarely came for consultations, which was very concerning given the high costs. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this hospital to anyone. Many nurses and staff members were rude, unprofessional, and unhelpful, which added unnecessary stress during an already difficult time. Overall, the hospital did not live up to its reputation. The lack of coordination, poor patient support, and high charges made this experience deeply disappointing.

Amazing Christian Medical college serving the nation with the best medical facilities. I am stunned to see more than 9000 daily patients coming in for treatment. It’s so well organized that there is no chaos. The security is well trained to manage the crowd and guide the needy. The bus service is just fabulous. The Doctors, nurses, lab technicians, staff are professional. I haven’t encountered a single staff who wouldn’t guide me when I have any doubt. They are ready to serve. Even Western countries can’t match this brilliance.

It sounds like you went through something incredibly frustrating — especially in a moment when you needed urgent help. Five hours in an emergency department with no doctor, no labs, and no treatment would leave anyone feeling ignored and unsafe. When you’re in pain or worried about your health, that kind of delay feels unbearable. Emergency care is supposed to prioritize the most urgent cases, but that doesn’t excuse a lack of communication or basic attention. Even in a busy hospital, patients should at least be assessed, updated, and treated with respect.

The hospital is good in terms of medical facilities and doctors, but the time and appointment management is extremely disappointing. OPD doctors are available only on Mondays and Thursdays. If you visit on Monday and the doctor asks for further consultation or reference, you are usually given the next available appointment on Thursday, which is very frustrating—especially for patients coming from outside Vellore. Accommodation near the hospital is very expensive, which is liveable. There are few cheap hotels as well but you will not be able to live there properly and there is hardly anything to do in Vellore. There are only 2–3 places to visit, and even those feel overpriced and disappointing. The medical care is good, but better scheduling, patient coordination, and support for outstation patients would greatly improve the overall experience.

Really bad experience with the staff specially in Ortho department. The security guard at ortho department doesn't follow rules pretty often and let anyone enter the doctor's room without their token number shown. Where as normal people with token have to wait for hours just to get consultant of the doctor. the staff team should be fair to everyone and abide by rules. They are rude to people who ask for help. Everything else is pretty good but the staff team makes the experience pretty bad for patients who comes for their treatment

One of the best hospital in India subcontinent. The staffs, doctors and nurses are polite and helpful. The rules are strict. They do not accept any bribe. There are many middle man around the hospital who offer early appointment. Don't trust those person. A huge amount of patients are taking treatment from here. So, you should come here with online appointment which will help you to get early treatment.

The medical treatment itself is good. However, the overall behavior and environment are extremely disappointing. There is absolutely no respect shown to patients or attendants; the staff often behaves in a rude and unprofessional manner. Security guards act more like police officers than support staff. The nurses’ behavior is extremely poor, and many doctors display excessive ego, behaving as if they are above everyone else. Even the housekeeping staff is disrespectful, and cleanliness is completely neglected. The entire hospital has an unpleasant odor, making the environment uncomfortable and unhygienic.

If you speak in any regional language, the staff treat you with rude and dominating behaviour. Very disappointing for a hospital of this level. They charge ₹1000 for private patients but make you wait 4–5 hours, with no proper queue system or communication. Patients are forced to walk between different buildings for lab tests, pharmacy, doctor consultations, and radiology — causing huge physical and mental stress, especially for elderly and weak patients.

CHRISTIAN MEDICAL COLLEGE is one of the most reputed and very organised hospital in India. Here, I visited for my cousin treatment in neurology department. The security guard is well mannered and helpful if you have any problem. This is one of the best Hospital in entire south India due to their facilities. If you go here first time make sure you need to stay about a month with patience because they diagnose disease deeply. Here multiple tests taken for best diagnosis. Doctor is also very helpful and supportive nature. The main problem for North-Indian People is water availability because I tested at many spot water quality but looks like some salty. They also built new campus 12 K.M away from main campus due to heavy load. Treatment is not cheaper but also not expensive. Must visit here If you have any Neuro or chronic type disease. They diagnose very deeply and provide treatment. Overall Total experience was Fascinating. Note :- This Is My Personal View 😊

We had a scheduled diabetic endocrinology appointment at 12pm today. Dr khusboo agarwal (room no T134) was assigned to us. We have been sitting for 1 hour 30 mins and now upon enquiring at the Private Reporting counter We were told that the doctor will come after 4pm after completing her class. What kind of negligence and pathetic behavior is this? As far as I am aware, the hospital is not doing charity over here. We are paying for your service, the staff and doctor should bear that in mind
