مسجد الأنوار الكبير، هو مسجد تاريخي ويعتبر أكبر وأقدم مسجد في أديس أبابا بإثيوبيا، يقع في ميركاتو ضمن منطقة عرادة. تم بناؤه من قبل الإيطاليين حوالي عام 1922 وتم الانتهاء منه بمساعدة أموال المسلمين.[2] يعد المسجد أكبر وأقدم المساجد في أديس أبابا. يتميز المسجد بهندسة معمارية فريدة من نوعها ذات اللونين الأبيض والأخضر.

It was built by Italians occupation time in c. 1922 and finished. The Grand Anwar Mosque, also called Al-Anwar Mesjid or simply Mesjid, is a mosque located in the Merkato or marketplace of Addis ketema district in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Grande e com muitos fies. Na porta de saida havia de haver 1 organização dos que estão a pedir " ficarem encostados da parte de fora" porque atrapalha a saida e entreda, mas ha muita paz neste lugar , esta inserido na zona do Mercato só artistas

المسجد انور الكبير بناه الإيطاليين، وهو يقع في. ميركاتو ماركت يجب الحذر على الأغراض الثمينة خارج المسجد صليت فيه صلاة الجمعة، وكان المسجد ممتلئ. ما شاء الله تبارك الله

مسجد مزدحم بالمصاين رغم كبر مساحته ويحتاج مظلات خارجية بسبب كثرة الامطار

مسجد جامع يصلى فيه الجمعه موجود عند سوق ميركاتو مباشره ،، يرجى الحذر خارج المسجد من احتمالية سرقة الجوال لان المكان عشوائي لكن أمن

Lovely Masjid within a bustling area of Addis. Very busy and lively area of Addis within the market area.

A national holey worshiping place for Ethiopian Muslims

I liked the overall outside appearance of it. To be honest, I haven't been inside, so I can't say what it's like on the inside. Great structure is what I can say, for now. Hope to review it more someday after seeing the inside.

Its best place for prayer

Grand Anwar Mosque is located in Merkato, in Arada district of Addis Ababa. It was built by the Italian government around 1922. The mosque is the largest and one of the oldest mosques (masjid) in Addis Ababa. The mosque has unique architecture with white and green colors. After the Italians left unfinished, Muslims collected money to resume the construction. When the construction completed, 16,000 ETB were not paid to the contractor, which led to closure for couple of days by court order. The mosque then reopened as an individual covered payment. During fasting periods, thousands of people gather in the mosque compound and man can carry incense to smell inside the mosque. A portable podium placed to the middle of green pillars supporting the white outer walls and domes that form spectacular façade of the mosque.

So big mosque

Great place to check out before a venture into Mecato. Leave the hustle of the outer rim of the market to find peace and tranquility by very inviting and kind hosts. Gladly give you a walk around for a few birr and if you’re really lucky you’ll get to see the giraffe!
