It is located in a large park that you can stroll around, enjoying the air, jogging, or just simply having a picnic with your family or friends. The location is strategic. There are also many food and beverage sellers inside.

I found it very beautiful park. It is huge and very quiet. You can do sports activities, just walking, sitting and enjoying the sight or whatsoever. Recommended for relaxing only.

Very nice park. There is wildlife there, please beware and be courteous to the animals! Also, don't sit on the walls in front of the statue. Theres a sign, but I didn't see it. Great park!

The 15-foot tall brass cast Samadhi statue of Lord Buddha at Viharamahadevi Park opposite the Colombo Municipal Council was installed at its site on 26 May 1972. Viharamahadevi Park is one of the gems of the Colombo city which is situated amidst the hustle-bustle. The Viharamahadevi Park is the oldest and the biggest park in the port city of Colombo in Sri Lanka. Located near historical places such as the National Museum, Town Hall and the Colombo Public Library, after receiving recent renovations this place has become a central location in Colombo.

Nice park and a quite place to just chillout in.

The only real attraction in the Park. The vegetation is beautiful but nothing extra, we walked through it but it didn’t give a special experience. And the elephants tied with an iron chain provided a sad sight.

Most beautiful thing in the park is this statue, you can relax your mind with some meditation if you know about it. statue is magnificent if you can watch at night. Please remember, as this is a buddhist statute you batter walk in the path or visit the place with respect as buddhist respect lord buddha

Bel Parco Urbano tranquillo e curato che collega l'edificio del Consiglio Comunale con il Museo Nazionale. In testa ai percorsi un'imponente statua del Budda nella posizione del Loto. Gradevole luogo per una passeggiata ombreggiata da essenze tropicali e frequentata da scolaresche e impiegati in pausa.

Very calm place and beautifull. Officers keep it clean and so it makes the vihara maha devi park, colombo beautiful .

Free entry to this park and this gigantic Buddha statue is very iconic! It’s huge and shiny. You can take some pictures and videos too but make sure your back is not facing the Buddha while taking a picture because it is disrespectful apparently in Sri Lanka. You can also go around the park after visiting this statue. It’s definitely a good place for you to go for a jog or run.

Good park for relaxation. Seeing Buddha statue at dawn is quite a view. As it can be lit in different colours. It is a well preserved monument that is surely worth a visit if you're in the surrounding area. Got here somehow accidentally but was happy to do so.

Good park for jogging and enjoying with greenery golden boddha statue. Very nice place for photo shoot and fun with friends and family. Atmosphere is very nice and peaceful. Beauty of old construction with nature. This place look more beautiful in monsoon season. Greenery is everywhere. Picnic place fully time pass. There is to much open space for playing different games in group so group trips is also good for this place. I like because it’s well maintain.

Very wonderful place, with big trees,fountains, animals, where you can rest , enjoy the nature and romantic place.
