Egmore Railway Station is maintained very well and clean. The refreshment shops to buy water bottles and snacks are very few and hence there was a huge crowd just few minutes before the departure of Trains. So plan accordingly.

Very good and clean, but there are no signboards indicating where the train coaches will halt. This is pathetic in a metro city like Chennai. Even in small-town railway stations, we can find coach halt signboards, but there are none at Egmore Station. The lift is not working, and although the battery cars are free, they are not available as they are charging. Older people rush at the last minute; sometimes they fall down and are unable to board the train. Authorities, leaders, and politicians should be ashamed of this.

Chennai Egmore railway station is one of most busy railway station of Chennai city and its walking distance from Chennai central railway station. Many yummy food options are outside station and it’s very cleaned throughout the day n night.

Too much difficult to park the vechicle and to pick up others. And gets lot of traffic. Place was maintained well

This railway station shall soon become one of the best railway stations in India. Lot of work has been happening on this station. Escalators, lifts, exclusive parking complex and of late catering to passengers from all over India. It's taking off load from our beloved MGR CHENNAI Central station.

Redevelopment happening for long Recent experience happened on 31st circar express with a senior citizen.. no train information, arriving platform information not informed till the last min.. made senior citizen run from one platform to other Not escalators.. it's step which then need to climb.. no indication of coaches.. which made people run from one end to other.. everyone wer enquiring where will ac coaches stop someone enquiring about b7 someone s8.. no guidance at all.. I saw a a woman in late 50s running to reach her coach her biggest mistake that she book ac class 2 tier.. which is at the far end.. the train stopped in platform 4 where there was no roof .. scorching sun which was blazing directly.. without roof on the top , sweat pouring, people struggled to reach their compartments. it's not about the distance it's about the information guidance communication indication announcement.. if u don't have any of such it's a chaos.. egmore currently in that situation. Wish the redevelopment extension infrastructure at egmore happens fast and people have a peaceful journey.

Egmore Railway Station: Great Hospitality with Scope for Better Hygiene ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ Recently, I had the opportunity to travel through Egmore Railway Station, and overall, it was a very smooth and pleasant experience. The train timings are highly accurate, and the management of the station is quite commendable. Even inside the coaches, the cleanliness was well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable journey. Exceptional Help for Tourists & Outstanding Hospitality The absolute highlight of this station is its staff and the local people. For a tourist coming from outside, navigating a new place can be challenging, but the staff at the help desk/helpful section are incredibly supportive. They guide you with patience and respect. I want to extend a huge thank you to the government and, above all, the local people who are always ready to help with a warm smile. The care take of passengers is truly top-notch! Premium Services vs. Common Areas (Areas of Improvement) While the high-class procedures and premium facilities are meticulously maintained, I noticed a stark difference when it comes to the common areas. The Issue: The washrooms meant for the common public definitely lack hygiene and proper upkeep. It felt neglected compared to the rest of the station. The Request: I sincerely request the authorities to pay close attention to the common washrooms and public utilities. Hygiene should be equal for everyone, and maintaining these areas properly will make a massive difference for everyday travelers. Final Thoughts & Future Expectations Everything else is on track, and the station is already doing a wonderful job. However, a few changes and better maintenance in public areas would make it perfect. I really hope that under the current government administration, we will see these positive changes implemented soon. Historic station with good connectivity and decent facilities, but always crowded. During my visit, the foot over bridge was heavily packed, maybe because of ongoing construction work. Basic amenities are there, though cleanliness and crowd handling could be better.

The prices that are shown do not correspond to the tariffs that they applied to me: more than 600 roupies for a big backpack for a week. They told me that the cloak room is open 24 hours but when I arrived to collect my backpack early in the morning it was closed and nobody answered to the indicated phone number. After about half an hour a lady finally arrived and gave me the backpack. They have cameras which film the cloak room which is helpful to avoid robbery which is a good point

Chennai Egmore Railway Station (MS) also known as Ezhumbur is another important railway station serving the Chennai Metropolitan Region. With 11 platforms, it also caters to various suburban services across the region. Operated by Southern Railways, this NSG-1 station also reflects the architectural style of the past. Also, surprisingly for the first time I saw an AED device installed at a railway station. As far as connectivity is concerned, this railway station also has dedicated metro connectivity named as Egmore.

Excellent connectivity: One of the main railway hubs connecting South Tamil Nadu and other states. Top Rated Central location: Easy access to buses, autos, and metro nearby. Top Rated Historic architecture: Beautiful old-style building with a classic look. Top Rated Basic facilities available: Waiting halls, retiring rooms, shops, and security systems like CCTV.

No car park for private vehicles, all space encroached or allotted to either taxi operators or auto and parcel companies. Pathetic. If u come with your aged parents better come in auto or taxi else you may skip a heart beat thinking much on where to park your car

Clean station. Station has many facilities and stalls for your convenience. The people here are very cooperative and helpful. Policemen are available here who are very helpful and will guide you if you face any problem here. There are escalators in every platforms which helps us to carry all heavy luggages. Free vehicle is available for kids, women and senior citizens to move around the station. Auto stand is available just outside the station.

Cleanliness: Platforms and waiting areas are moderately clean. Cleaning staff are active, but during peak hours cleanliness could be improved. Facilities: Drinking water facility available Clean restrooms (needs better maintenance at times) Waiting hall is spacious Electronic display boards for train timings are helpful Announcements are clear and audible Accessibility: Easy access to autos, buses, and taxis outside the station. Foot overbridge and ramps are available, making it manageable for elderly passengers. Security: Railway police and security personnel are present, which makes the station feel safe even during late hours. Food & Shops: Small food stalls and snack shops are available. Food quality is average and prices are reasonable. Overall Verdict: A decent railway station with all basic amenities. One of my favourite railway station from my childhood days. It connects all Southern Tamil Nadu and AP & Telangana. The only issue is railway station is most of the time under maintenance. Other than number 1 all the platforms doesn't have even the basic amenities. The place is always crowded but commutation is good as you can get all kind of transportation very easily from here. It will be great if railways take some measures to make this historic place even better with added amenities.

When we visited the railway station, we planned to kept our luggage in the clockroom. The station is under renovation. Staff told us to scan the bags and lebal them. And they told us to buy locks . We locked out bags and kept it in the clock room. No cctv cameras in the clock room. If you lost the receipt they gave , you need to wait for a long time. The minimum charge is 20 per bag.

Elmore Railway station as is well known is one of the oldest stations in Chennai along with of course Chennai Central. I really love this Railway station 🚂🚋🚃 because they are still maintaining those unique architecture which gives unique look for this station It has still those unique remnants of vintage architecture that give the station its unique look. This station has always been crowded,This station has a parking🅿 lot You guys can see 👀 there are already so many bikes and cars have parked. Now this station has also has Metro 🚇 so it is easy for so many out there if you don't know to reach out this place.I love Chennai.
