Bhubaneswar New Junction

Bhubaneswar New Junction is a modern satellite railway station located in the northern part of Odisha's capital city. Opened in July 2018, the station operates under the East Coast Railway zone and has 7 platforms and 9 tracks The blue-roofed platforms, clean environment, and relatively low crowd levels make it stand out from busier Indian railway stations. Several major trains including the Konark Express and Visakha Express now operate from here, shifted to reduce congestion at the Bhubaneswar Main Station.However, bus connectivity and development of the surrounding area still need improvement. Overall, a promising and well-maintained station — one that looks set to grow into a key transit hub for the region

A new renovated station that is in a remote location and requires further development. Public transportation options are essential for accessing the station, or individuals can opt for their own transportation. The station offers the advantage of easy train access with minimal crowding, allowing travelers to comfortably settle their luggage and manage their belongings without hassle

Very quite and clean. No issues in parking your 2 or 4 wheeler for couple of hrs. Instead of going to master canteen this station is far better if you have your train starting from here. But no lift.

Quite, very low passengers. Ample place avaiable for car parking, no outside stall or food aviable near the station, in case you need to carry for food better take it on the way. Clean platform.

More facilities needed. At present only three trains starting here

The Railway Station was inaugurated by Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon'ble Cabinet Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Govt. of India, which commenced it's operation from 07.07.2018. Initially, only three Passenger Trains (to and fro) as given under, are scheduled to have stoppages at this Station. 1) Cuttack - Berhampur (Memu Passenger Train). 2) Puri - Santragachhi (Passenger Train) 3) Rourkela - Puri (Passenger Train) # Proper approach Road to the Station has not yet been constructed. # Being the Bhubaneswar's satellite Station, the area is not covered under the Bhubaneswar Municipality. # Hence, the surrounding areas of the Station is neither maintained nor developed. # City buses have not yet being connected to this Station. Few Auto rickshaw are likely to serve the six (3×2) Passenger trains. # Since, the Station is only one and half Kilometers from Nandankanan, the visitors to Nandan Kanan may be benefitted from this Station.

It's one of the upcoming major railway stations in Bhubaneswar. As of June 2025, it's not considered a major one.

New station. Most of the people don't know about it. Approach road is not good and need improvement and signage.

Water supply is provided in ticket counter. New ration of bbsr junction. Good , normal and just fascility area like bhubaneswar station road

Only local train stay here. Not completed. Still work is in progress. Low quality work of the floor. The roof is damage in fani but still no repair. Platform are not ready only 3rd and 4th platform is working. Staff are less only 2 staff is there. There is a ticket counter but not working. Connecting road between new bhubaneswar Railway Station to main road is not wide.

As per estimation it should have been completed by now I.e end of 2016. But due to negligence if IR and state govt. it's still under construction. And it will take another 10 years to become completely functional with all the facilities. So don't hope more from this. Anyway if it is getting completed within 2/3 years then it will be good for people of Odisha. But...

World class amenities should be provided keeping in view next 20 years down the line. Like able parking space, good connecting roads, separate vending zones etc.

Cleanliness: Big Issue. Pathetically maintained. Security: Very Bad. Basic facilities are available but again when it comes to maintenance, IR needs to work a alot to make it look like a station of state capital.
