One of the oldest Catholic churches in Chennai. It is located Perambur. It’s two tier church. We can easily reach the upper church by the long ramp, otherwise steps are available to reach. It’s also open stage for the functions. One can silently pray during day times. Regular English service mass also in the church.

This church is one of the most Majestic and beautiful churches in Chennai. I had the privilege of visiting this church today. The church is very large and they have a separate chapel for the sacraments outside the church. This chapel is very serene and peaceful for prayer. The church can be visited anytime of the day. I was informed that there are 5 holy mass in English and Tamil every day. The atmosphere is so clean and hygiene. Even in the weekdays, there are good numbers of people visiting this church and attending the holy mass. This is a must visit church in Perambur, Chennai with wonderful atmosphere to spend some quality time with your family.

1879, in commemoration of the silver jubilee of the proclamation of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception, Fr. H. Hennessey, Parish Priest of St. Andrew’s Church, Vepery, Madras, built a chapel at Perambur. This chapel was blessed and dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes in 1880 and served the spiritual needs of the catholics then residing in the locality. In 1903, Perambur was raised to the status of an independent parish. In 1903, with a catholic population of 5000 people and a church capable of accommodating only about 500 it was obvious that any scheme to enlarge the existing church was not at all feasible. Legionaries of Mary reported many instances of lapsed Catholics who had regularly stood out the Sunday masses for years. It was this juncture that the First Salesian priest, Fr. Michael Murray, arrived in December 1953. The privilege, however, of making Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine at Perambur into a famous place of pilgrimage fell to the lot of worthy sons of Don Bosco.

Very beautiful church in the city. Established in 1900. Biggest salesian church in Chennai. The campus is kept very clean and hygienic. Mass is held here everyday morning and evening in both Tamil and English in upper and lower chuch... Every month 11th is commemoration of Our Lady of Lourdes.On those days there will be special mass and adoration. Annual Feast Agenda:- 1st Thursday of February - Flag hosting of our lady of Lourdes 9th day of the feast (Saturday) - Holy Eucharistic procession and Grand mass service (Evening) 10th day of the feast (Sunday) - Feast of our lady of Lourdes Grand car procession and Grand mass sevice ( Evening) 11th day of the feast (monday) - Thanksgiving mass and Flag lowering (Evening) Very spiritual and peaceful place,I felt good possive vibes in this church... my most favorite place

Church is located in 300 meters from Perambur Railway Station, Chennai. Calm place to pray & calm your mind. Environment is Hygienic and that need to appreciated.

Majestically beautiful place! My first time in Perumbur and the locals call it the ‘famous and big’ church. Easy to get here. Lovely Architecture. Vivid culture of people can be met here.

Hi guys This church is quite famous because Mary madha has opened her eyes and gave blessings to people. It's a big church. Masses are conducted in mrng and evening. There is a separate room for Narkuranai and all can go and pray for their needs. There is a school which also located nearby. Garden and play ground are there. There is place for parking too.

In many respects this majestic shrine is a replica of the basilica of Lourdes. It consists of a church upon a church. The main altar of the lower church, or crypt, is dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary, as at Lourdes. Entrance to the upper Church is by means of two imposing ramps; their graceful curves not only add beauty, but also serve as an enclosure for open-air services. The upper church with its magnificent towers has a majestic appearance. The interior is simple and beautiful and creates an atmosphere of peace and devotion. Also has a chappel filled with peaceful ambience!!

More than hundred years old, Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine is a Central landmark of Perambur area. Such nostalgic memories whenever I go to this Church. My entire childhood revolved around this Church. Church has daily mass services and very good atmosphere all around with Divine Chapel, Don Bosco Primary school and lots more.

Our Lady of Lourdes Church is a Catholic Church. Every Sunday morning in 6:30 English mass in 8:30 Tamil mass every Sunday evening 5:30 Tamil mass. South Campus includes marriage hall as well. The parking place is very huge. This is located in Madipakkam.
