Courtyard by Marriott Chennai

Wonderful Christmas stay at the Courtyard Marriott. The beautiful Christmas decorations created a festive and welcoming atmosphere from the moment we arrived. The buffet was impressive, offering a wide variety of dishes, and the chef took special care in preparing kid-friendly food, which we truly appreciated. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, making our stay delightful from reception through dining. Every detail reflected top-notch service. We also loved the location—it’s very convenient and made getting around the city easy.

What a great place to stay! I have been at other hotels including the Taj in the north but this has by far exceeded all expectations! Thank you to Ansh Sood, Susmita, Bijay and the whole team as well as housekeeping Feni, Anwait and colleagues. And not to forget the incredible chefs and waiting staff! Mr Praveen and Mr Prasant and your teams have made this trip brilliant despite our delicate medical circumstances! Words are not enough to thank you! We look for ward to visiting again.

The buffet breakfast menu is excellent. Continental, North Indian and South Indian cuisines. Tasty food and interesting choice of food. Varieties of juices, flakes, milks, yogurts, cheeses, fruits, bakery items, sautéed veggies, live counter with Dosa, Parathas, omelette, waffles and pancakes are all an option. Exquisite coffees and teas too. It is defintely worth the 1299 plus 18% tax. Yes, the price has increased steeply due to the recent deficits in LPG and other issues. But still it is a good option for a laidback Sunday breakfast. One exclusive discount of 40% if booked and paid through swiggy is a bountiful gain. Susmita stands with the thank you and good bye cake for the guests who are checking out (in the picture).

Excellent Stay in the Heart of Chennai! The Courtyard by Marriott Chennai exceeded all expectations. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything you need. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive, making us feel genuinely welcomed throughout our stay. Breakfast offered a wonderful spread of both South Indian and continental options — absolutely delicious! The location is unbeatable, with easy access to business districts and city attractions. The pool and fitness center were great added perks. Outstanding value for the quality delivered. Will definitely be back — highly recommended for both business and leisure travelers!

I had the best experience at Courtyard by Marriott and it will always remain unforgettable. Mr Ansh Sood, the Executive Officer, has been helpful even before I came to the hotel. I was in touch with him from Mauritius as I had a package to be shipped to the hotel. He has been of superb assistance by tracking my parcel everyday. Whenever I needed his assistance, be it with transport, or any other hotel facilities, he has been responsive throughout our stay.The staff at the hotel has also been so professional but most importantly kind. And what a selection of breakfast they offer, from local to international, you can get everything suited to your palette. The rooms were a delight and all the amenities provided have been helpful. I will miss courtyard but I hope I can come again. Thank you for the amazing journey. I will not forget Courtyard any soon. Love from Mauritius

The room was not properly cleaned upon arrival. The floor appeared to have been treated with a surfactant, which made it both sticky and slippery, creating discomfort and a potential safety concern. We informed the front desk, but unfortunately, no corrective action was taken. My husband is a Platinum Bonvoy Marriott member, yet the response time was noticeably slow and did not reflect the service standards we would normally expect. At the coffee area, staff members tended to gather near the machine, and it often required repeated effort to get their attention. The team appeared tired and overworked, which may explain the lack of attentiveness, but it nonetheless affected the overall experience. Overall, the stay fell short of expectations, particularly in cleanliness and responsiveness of service.

I had a very nice experience Banquet Courtyard Chennai. The food was really good, fresh, and full of flavor. There was a good variety of dishes, and everything was well-prepared and served hot. The quality and taste made the meals enjoyable. The staff were also polite and helpful, which added to the overall pleasant experience. Staff was also very assisting and cared very much specially Mr. Suraj Kumar Singh. I truly enjoyed the food and would be happy to dine here again. Keep up the great work! 😊

After a disappointing one-night experience at a nearby so-called 5-star Indian chain property, my spouse and I booked Courtyard by Marriott Chennai — and what a welcome change! As Marriott Bonvoy members, we truly appreciated the clean, comfortable rooms that met international standards. The staff were courteous, room service was prompt, and the food was tasty and reasonably priced. Worth every penny! This is now our go-to hotel for all future stays in Chennai.

Had a great stay! Ansh and Arushi at the Front Desk were welcoming and efficient, making everything smooth from the start. Shubham, the Restaurant Manager, ensured excellent service, and Chef Vicky served some truly delicious food. Thank you all for the lovely hospitality!

Staff behavior especially Mr Saikat or something, is very rude. Misinformation on the charges like u take buffet but a'la carte bill would be presented instead. Billing surprises and be ready for arguments on billing correction. Bad n sad experience. Being a gold member, will never recommended this hotel at all. Better next door Hayatt. NOT AGAIN AT ALL.

We recently booked the banquet halls for our Business meeting at Courtyard by Marriott Chennai. The hall pricing was very reasonable and good value for money, especially for central Chennai — the space and setup werent spacious and functional for our meetings. However, the food quality and banquet service were major disappointments. The food didn’t meet our expectations for the price point, and the service team was slow and disorganized, which affected the overall experience during the event. The hotel is constructed around 2005-06 and while some parts are maintained, several areas really need renovation and modernization to reflect the actual Marriott brand standards. Overall: Banquet hall pricing – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Food quality – below expectations ⭐⭐ Banquet service – needs improvement ⭐⭐⭐ Property feels dated and could benefit from renovation to match guest expectations.

Property is 40 years old. Dated and need a fresh design. Compact surrounding with many pillars across property. Location isn't great. F&B can be better. If a Hotel Cafe can't prepare a good Club Sandwich, they aren't worth the effort to visit.

I had a wonderful dining experience at this hotel! The food was exceptional—fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully prepared. There was an excellent variety of dishes, all served hot and perfectly executed. Special thanks to Mr. Suraj Singh for outstanding service!

Your basic lower tier Marriot but the staff and their management was top class. Very responsive and proactive, we needed cold storage and they supported us in every way they could. Room (basic twin) was a wee tiny and congested but tidy and well kept. Would stay again!

My room was damp and dusty. When I went to the bathroom my toilet seat was wet and had hair from previous guest on it. Overall did not feel clean and taken care of. Shower did not work right and drain floods bathroom within a couple minutes. Staff and amenities were okay but nobody seems to care about my issues. They simply charged me and sent me on my way.

Key cards will never work. Have stayed there since 2019, same problem every time everyday since then to 2026. Phone in room will not work. A/c in some rooms have issues. Very old property. Location is idle and food is good

It was a great stay after all the staff did their best to do their best to make my stay comfortable. Staff and service was the best. Room abit old but toilet refurbished. Miss Avantika was very very helpful. Thanks to her. Meals were very good.

Was there for consulate work and it's in perfect proximity of the American consulate. The stay was comfortable and the staff was very kind and caring. Would recommend anyday of you're looking for a spick and spam place with good upkeep. The breakfast buffet was elaborate. Overall a great experience.

I’ve dined at several Courtyard by Marriott properties, but this experience was unexpectedly subpar for a 4-star hotel. I visited as part of a corporate event with over 80 members. The Positives: The organizing team was very effective and clear about the arrangements. The ambiance was pleasant and well-maintained. The Negatives: Poor Preparation: The buffet started at 7:00 PM, but even by 7:30 PM, the Dosa live counter was missing chutney. We were told it was "being prepared," and it didn't arrive until 8:00 PM. Food Quality: Some of the dishes were excessively salty, particularly the Tawa Fish, which was disappointing. Lack of Variety: For a group of 80+, the number of live counters was surprisingly few. Zero Service Engagement: Surprisingly, not a single staff member or manager came to our table to ask for feedback. In most 4-star hotels, this is standard, but here, the service felt indifferent.

We are frequent visitors to Chennai and stay at this Marriott each time. The folks here are super friendly and ensure we have a pleasant stay. Rooms are great. Spacious and clean. The best part is the dining service. Besides the sumptuous breakfast buffet, what makes it enjoyable is the personal care by the staff. This trip we had Rudra, Astha, Sajal and Sumeet who ensure we didn't lack anything in the dining room. Benif and Logesh were excellent as room service hosts. They custom prepared things we asked for that were not on the menu and remembered our choices for the following day. I highly recommend this place for a comfortable stay while visiting Chennai.
