A Joke of a Resort — Isolated, Incompetent, and Totally Deceptive
Oasis Resort in Skardu should be renamed to “Nowhere Lodge,” because that’s exactly what it is — a lonely, empty building dropped in the middle of absolutely nothing, masquerading as a resort.
The photos online are pure fantasy. They sell you serenity, comfort, and service — what you actually get is silence, confusion, and a staff that has no idea what they’re doing.
You’re completely cut off. There are no shops, no food options, no access to anything nearby. Once you’re on the property, you’re stuck. Want food? Be prepared to wait over an hour while someone runs into town to get takeaway and tries to pass it off as “room service.” No kitchen, no menu, no clue.
The staff are painfully untrained — polite, maybe, but totally unequipped to run a resort. Most don’t speak English, which makes communication exhausting. Basic requests turned into twenty-minute guessing games. There is no sense of hospitality, structure, or professionalism.
There’s also no information — no welcome briefing, no area guide, no instructions. You’re basically left to figure everything out yourself. There’s no help, no suggestions, no offers to assist. It feels like they built a hotel and forgot to hire anyone who knows how to run it.
This place isn’t peaceful. It’s dead. It’s not a retreat — it’s a stranded experience with four walls and a view. If you enjoy standing around wondering what’s going on while your food is lost in delivery limbo, then this is the place for you.
Do not waste your time or money. You’ll leave frustrated, disappointed, and more exhausted than when you arrived.
