Regional institute of opthamology. Government eye hodpital , Chennai. This government hospital is located in Rukmani lakshmipathi salai , egmore. With an age of 200+ years this hospital is with a difference, contrary to the belief that govt hospitals are not clean,they dont offer good services this one is opposite of that belief. Clean environment, very good doctors, excellant service and sbove all it is totally free. When you drive from Rajarathinam stadium after 500 mtrs on your right you will see a red building with a iron gate with two eyes that is the old british period 200 year old building , diagonally opposte to that there is a building built in 80s where the hospital was functioning and still functioning however a new bicentenary building was built a few years back from where the hospital now functions.opp the the old red building there is a modern entrance with a board regional institute of ophthalmology and ophthalmic hospital. Once you take this entrance it will take you to bicentenary building where you register in OP and proceed for your Excellant free treatment.some improvements required in bathrooms and toilets.

One of the best Govt. Hospitals in Chennai, unlike other govt hospitals this hospital is far better in terms of infrastructure, ambience, cleanliness, Spacious parking facility, Treatment wise also its good, Out patient timings Morning 7am to 12pm.

நான் என் தங்கையின் மகன் ஒரு கண் தெரியாது. அதனால் டிசேபிலிட்டி சர்டிபிகேட் வேண்டி கவர்மெண்ட் ஐ ஹாஸ்பிடல் எக்மோர் சென்றோம். டெஸ்ட் பண்ற இடம் எல்லாம் முடிந்து டாக்டர்ஸ் பார்க்க சென்றோம். அங்கே ஜூனியர் டாக்டர் என்கிற போர்ட் பக்கத்தில் இருக்கிற ஒரு ரூமில் கண்ணாடி போட்ட ஒரு இளம் வயது லேடி டாக்டர் பார்த்தோம். அவருடைய பேச்சு மிகவும் rude கடினத் தன்மையுடன் இருந்தது. ஏற்கனவே எனது தங்கை தன்மகன் ஒரு கண் தெரியவில்லை என்று மிகவும் வருத்தத்துடன் வந்திருந்தால். இவர்களுடைய அலட்சியமான பேச்சு பிச்சைக்காரர்களை விட கேவலமாக நடத்துகிறார். நான்தான் அலைந்தோம் ஐந்தாவது நாள் சர்டிபிகேட் கேட்கும் பொழுது எங்கு கொடுக்கிறார்கள் என்று எங்களுக்கு தெரியாது என்கிறார்கள். அவ்வளவு தூரத்தில் இருந்து நாங்கள் மூன்று பஸ் புடிச்சு வருகிறோம். அவர்கள் மிகவும் அலட்சியமாக பதில் சொல்கிறார்கள். யாருக்குமே எங்கே டிசபிலிட்டி சர்டிபிகேட் கொடுக்கிறார்கள் என்று தெரியவில்லை. மிகவும் அலைந்து திரிந்து ரொம்ப கஷ்டப்பட்டோம். என்று என்று அவர்களுக்கு தெரியவில்லை.வெள்ளிக்கிழமை வந்து பாருங்கள் இல்லையென்றால் செவ்வாய்க்கிழமை வந்து பாருங்கள் என்று செல்கிறார்கள். ஏழ்மையில் இருக்கிறவர்கள் வேலை விட்டு அதனால் அலைய முடியுமா. வரிப்பணத்தில் சம்பளம் வாங்கும் அவர்கள் இவ்வளவு அலட்சியப்போக்குடன் இருப்பது மிகவும் வருத்தமாக உள்ளது. அதுவும் நோயாளியை பிச்சைக்காரர்கள் போல் நடத்துவது மிகவும் அனேகர் வேதனையாக உள்ளது. உரிய அதிகாரிகள் இதுல தலையிட்டு நோயாளிகளுக்கு உதவி செய்யும்படி கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறோம்.

This is the difference between Private and government..There is no response in this hospital they wasted my 3working Days they told me to come next day next day after that said here we don't have that machine to check...Try some other Trust aided/Private eye hospital instead of this hospital... Great hospital. Very good treatment don't hesitate that it is a govt hospital , it is no less than any big private eye hospital in chennai . 200years of treatment. Cleanliness, filter water, good washrooms, inpatient beds are cleaned regularly

Some room Doctor leave before 9 am and some room doctor leave before 10 am and some room doctor leave before 11 am only few doctors stay until 1 pm. if you come after 10 am or 11 am they tell you this room doctor duty timing completed so come next day before 8 am or 9 am. Even to people coming from long distances. No proper service.

Really so surprising from the Myth about the Government hospitals... Checkups and Doctor consultations went well and staff are really caring and supportive... On par with any private hospital.. Outpatient visiting time is morning 7am to 12pm..

Gud government hospital, waiting time moderate. But we need to go before 11am

லேன்ஸ் வந்த உடன் கால் செய்கிறேன் என்றார்கள் ஒரு மாதம் வரை கால் செய்யததால் நேரில் சென்ற உடனேதான் லென்ஸ் வந்திருக்கா என செக் செய்து அட்மீட் செய்றாங்க. ஸ்டோர் ரூம்ல லென்ஸ் வந்திருச்சா என டாக்டர் செக் பன்னி சொல்ல சில மணி நேரம் ஆகிறது. இது எங்கள் அனுபவம். மற்றபடி மருத்துவர்கள் கடுமையாக உழைக்கின்றனர். அட்மீட் ஆன பிறகு நல்ல முறையில் மருத்துவர் கவனிக்கின்றனர். கூடுதல் மருத்துவர்கள் தேவை.

Very clean new building and the students are very loving and caring. Treatment is excellent. But the experience we have with one lady doctor is not appreciated. She is answering rudly, not respecting people and not listening to our concern too.....we have to ask several people to find out and proceed next step......

Seriously its time waste… treatment is nothing but walking from old building to new building like here and there.. i know the reason why people consulting private hospitals.. toilets r not hygiene… doctors dont value patients time … they r late in attending room…

Recently I was admitted for COVID-19 in Egmore Eye Hospital Corona Isolation Wards for 1 week . I tried for all private hospital did not get Oxygen bed and response was bad , later called 108 Ambulance , they immediately picked up in 15 mins with oxygen fitted Ambulance , later they provided oxygen fitted bed , all Staff members / Doctors /Nurses 24 / 7 took very good care for me in 1 week in Hospital , Hospital and toilets very hygienic maintained , very good quality food packed nicely and served morning , lunch and dinner. Thanks to the Chef for taste and equal to home food. I and my family thank from bottom our heart all Staff members / Doctors /Nurses of Corona Isolation Ward and Tamil Nadu Government for Excellent professional care given to COVID patients , far better than all private hospital in chennai city and very safe . I will highly recommend Egmore Eye Hospitals Corona Isolation Ward to get recovered in 1 week 100% from COVID-19 , all staff members will make sure.

It's a very good hospital. Absolutly free of cost. My aunty was treated here. Quick treatment is available. In 2 to 3 days everything will be done perfectly.

Doctors and nurse are timings and very very poor supporting to patients and serious patients also in 1st floor room no-104 on 16.aug.24
