The kondapally fort is on a small hill with frequent hairpin bends. It is a beautiful and thrilling experience. Tickets per person in rs20/- and for a car is rs 40/-. The fort is in ruin stage and is not well maintained, but it is still a good spot. The visit involves a lot of walking, so keep enough water, and it is better to avoid visiting the fort at noon time especially in summer. There are three lakes in the fort and boating is available. There is a small children's park available in the fort. There is also an old Masjid in the fort. Please refer to the map of the fort in the image session so that you will get an idea. There is a parking lot for the vehicles. Camera and photo shoots are charged extra, but there is no one to supervise. Also, there is no strict checking. The hill road is tricky as there are chances of falling stones onto the road. The fort was built in 1360 CE by Anna Vemareddy of the Kondaveedu Reddy dynasty after he captured Kondapalli from Mudigonda Chalaukyas. The fort were in pocessions of many kings, nizam and sultan and finally to British East India Company Kindly note the fort itself is in a remote place so suggest to carry enough water and food if required

Decently maintained fort. Currently, the road to the fort after u take exit from main highway is in bad shape due to some work going on in that area. Fort is clean. Not much original structure is remaining now. But some of the part is restored now. Will take an hour to cover the complete fort.

Kondaplli Fort is a Heritage fort and it's called as Kondapalli Quilla and Kondapalli Kota. It's located in Kondapalli Village (now it's Municipality), NTR District 24 km from Vijayawada. Kondapalli has railway station and buses also available from Mylavaram, Vijayawada. From this village we can go to Glonduri, Mylavaram, Bhadrachalam.... Kondaplli Fort was built in 14th century by Kondaveedu Reddy Dynasty. From Them upto Britishers Mughals, Chalukyas, Britishers used this fort. Britishers used this fort as military training center. We can reach Kondapalli fort in two ways. One is ghat road way from Jupudi side (on NH65 Vja-Hyd NH)and another one is trekking path from Kondaplli Village via Kondapalli artisans street. Kondaplli Artisan street has World Famous Kondapalli Bommalu, made by White Poniki chekka. We can see our culture, festivals, traditions, our life styles, military, war, marei rituals etc., in the form of kondapalli Bommalu. We can visit Toys making center to know how they make toys. We can purchase toys in shops. From this street straightly we can teek to kondapalli fort but trekking path is not developed. Path is difficult to trek especially in summer and rainy season. In few months Trekking path will be develop. Recently Kondapalli Toys festival was held in this street in occasion of World Heritage day. Fort was developed, tkt price 20/- @per person and parking is 40/- @car/auto. We can reach on bikes also but it was ghat road, so landslides can happen in rainy season. We can see so many money on the way, they will try to take things from your hands, be aware it. Fort was destroyed in war times but Govt. was developed some programs to attract people like walking paths, parks, lake, museum etc., In summer season better to visit before 9am.

Good place to visit. It opens at 10.30 AM. It is maintained by AP tourism. Every thing is okay. Need more development in fort regarding cleaness. Also the road from town to fort need more development to have a clear access. If developed and maintained well regarding cleaness, it can attract more tourist. There is entrance fee. Also it is suggesged to have some food shooe at entrance of fort. Overall its good place to visit.

The place has so much historic value in itself, but I am disappointed to see that it is not really maintained. People are throwing garbage here and there there is not proper dust beans installed inside the area. The application about which they have mentioned in all the posters is not even working so you won’t really understand the history behind the ruins, neither there is anybody to explain it. The view outside the area is quite good and it is very green.

Road leading to the fort from the highway is narrow, one should be careful while driving car. Great historical importance without much publicity.

Trecking enthusiasts can also visit this place from Kondapalli side instead of taking road to reach. Took 40 min to reach, as this is not a planned path, rough stones and slippery stones are along the path.

Not a worthy location to visit particularly😮‍💨, my expectations got grounded after visiting the kondapalli fort🤐. No particular monuments/statues or a best scenari to have a look. Don't know why authorities are not developing the tourism for the such historical places which represent fame🤷🏻. Kondapalli fort -- kondapalli toys are great....what we learnt from studies but didn't find that after visiting the location. Location is useful for couples, pre wedding shoots(only few spots). Top view is fine, every hill/mountain will be having a top view. Fort is present on the top the hill, riding on to the curves of hill gives us some chills and thrill. We can see small small hair pin curves. Plants and trees covers the entire road and make the curves even danger for people. Other than that nothing interesting seen in the fort or mountain. My whole lot experience is worst🥲 Note: visiting hours- 11am to 5pm No parking fee... Fort entry ticket per person: 30₹

Good but after travelling so much I expected a beautiful view. Great ambience but it was not up to the mark. Just the remains of a destroyed fort was there.

Away from town, through a winding road, hidden in the forest lies this dilapidated fort. We can see Vijayawada town from this fort and is beautiful.

I walked from the trekking point at Kondapalli to the top using the stairs. It is a nice place for trekking. You need to be careful with the monkeys though. It took 20 min for me to reach the fort. The entry fee is 30 Rs. At the entrance you find the history and glory of this old fort. I spent around 4 hours here. I really enjoyed this place. There are many places to discover, don't forget to visit the Jail. Truly adventurous for kids who like archeology and some history. Far from the city noise and people and pollution this place is a nice escape from your routine life. You want to keep exploring the hills around. There are no hotels or restaurants at the forst, I recommend to carry some food and water with you. There is a small shop over here that seels cool drinks, water and some chips and toys. But they are really really expensive. I wish you a wonderful time at this special place.

Visiting the fort was very interesting experience for sure. Several centuries of history adds to the enigma of the fort. The first has been well maintained and snippets of historical information have been displayed throughout the interiors of the fort, which also houses many heritage artifacts of centuries old. The biggest drawback is the road to the fort which is in poor condition and the areas surrounding the fort, which are supposed to be forest areas, are heavily littered with plastic bottles and polythene bags. It seems like a cleanup of the surrounding areas has not been done for a long time.

Kondapalli Fort, near Vijayawada, is a magnificent 14th-century hilltop fortress that beautifully blends history, architecture, and scenic charm. Originally built by Prolaya Vema Reddy of the Kondavid dynasty, the fort later served under various rulers—including the Gajapatis, Vijayanagara Empire, Qutub Shahis, Mughals, and British—each leaving their mark on its legacy
