Galle Face Terrace Hostel by Tourlux

Stayed here for 2 nights in a 4-person bunk. The owners definitely knew how to make you feel welcomed and ensured that you had what you needed. Also had the chance to befriend some of my bunk mates. The host was also gracious enough to let me come back after my 2-day stint in Kandy and let me store my luggage since I had a flight at 2:45am. Definitely a great selection if you are traveling on a budget:)

Ho soggiornato qui per due notti e mi sono trovata davvero bene. Letti comodi, camere pulite e grande zona comune. Nella camerata erano presenti gli armadietti C’è anche una cucina comune che puoi utilizzare, e una terrazza al piano superiore

A really nice place! Pros: - Affordable - WiFi is reliable (I suffered in every other place) - they're helpful - got to meet many people - nice location Cons: - Room is a little bit small (in Ella, I was in a hostel where the rooms were really big. But maybe that's because the cost of land is high in Colombo) - Guests make it a bit noisy. So tough to join meetings or sleep early.

One of the great hostel ever, I stay in Colombo, safe for solo travellers ,aesthetic living room, silent environment, you can walk every where u want, city center located. And host very friendly, and assist, respectful customer care , highly recommend 🥰

Le personnel est très gentil, l’emplacement est bien. L’auberge est propre, cependant nous avons eu des punaises de lit dans notre chambre (dortoir mixte).

Awesome location and fabulous staff + The manager is what makes this place what it is! He's so kind and helpful no matter what time of day! Hostel is in a great location within walking distance of all the mains attractions and about 3 minutes walk from Galle Face Green where you can watch the sunset and sit by the sea. A little further (10-15 mins walk from hostel) is a huge modern mall. Comfortable beds. Tiny washrooms but a larger common washroom with hot water is available. Kitchen facilities so you can cook/makes drinks/store food in the fridge is also a huge bonus. Good AC in rooms

Galle Face Terrace Hostel Review The hostel is extremely close to the bus stand and very convenient to reach Galle Face Beach. The staff were friendly, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. I totally enjoyed my stay here — great value and perfect location!

The location is really good just a short walk from public transport, shops, and a few local restaurants. The staff were super friendly and always willing to help with directions or recommendations. The dorms were basic but clean, and the beds were surprisingly comfortable for a hostel in this price range. I appreciated the personal lockers a. The shared bathroom was kept tidy and the hot water facility is available in the shared washroom .

Although the facilities were not perfect, the place was still very comfortable, clean, and met all my needs. Galle Face is an amazing area - peaceful, yet vibrant and with many diverse options for eating out and enjoying the sunset. However, what made this a hostel I would easily recommend are Chamindu and other staff, who were so welcoming and helpful that I extended my stay. The only real downside was lack of proper anti-mosquito measures.

Comfortable beds, clean, working ACs. Weird location, you have to take a bus or PickMe to go anywhere that isn’t overpriced tourist spots, but otherwise a good experience. Kitchen could use a filtered water tap, but they sell bottles at a very fair price.

Location wise, it's perfect ,close to major attractions, restaurants, and public transport. I always felt safe and well taken care of throughout my stay. A very friendly staff who was always ready to help. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Overall we had a pleasant stay here, however we booked a four bed female dorm with an en suite. The door did not shut fully and there was no lock or any security. This was a major let down during our stay, as the minimum we would expect is to be able to fully close a door and lock it. In addition, the en suite dorms do not have hot water and lack water pressure. You have to go to the one main common room bathroom to technically have a reasonable shower. Staff were friendly but maintenance needs doing to ensure rooms meet the minimum standard.

The location is pretty close to Gangaramaya Temple and Galle Face Beach. The rooms are very clean and tidy. The staff is very friendly and nice. They let you checkin early if you reach early morning too, just reach out in advance. Con The neighborhood isn't very active and can be slightly scary if you are walking back. The rooms were slightly small for 4 people with their backpacks, given that the lockers are pretty small. Lot of mosquitos in the common areas especially.

Amazing place, great host. Clean, air con, hot water, friendly atmosphere. Shared kitchen. Fast wifi. The location is good: it is not a busy center, quite place, but close to main road. Just few min on foot from Galle waterfront, 10 min with a taxi from the center. Safe area. We enjoyed the place and stayed there even a week instead of 2 days.

Great hostel for what we needed. Clean and with A/C. The staff was very helpful and answer all our questions. We only stayed one night but easily could have stayed a few more. Each bunk has outlets and reading lights. Beds were pretty good and linens were clean .

Probably the best hostel I've ever been to.
