Lovely garden, with extraordinary variety of tulips in vibrant colours. In season it is crowded but the space is enough to walk around and enjoy the arrays of Tulips with mountain peaks on the horizon. There is a lake at the end of the garden. One can leisurely walk around, there are some benches to sit on, photo spot is there, a small souvenir shop (sells pressed Tulip flower) and for reel enthusiasts, there are good views as well as vendors who will charge Rs. 150-200 for a reel. This place is definitely worth it and can be enjoyed only until mid-Apr, so plan the dates well if this is to be experienced. Highly recommended.

I recently visited the Tulip Garden during the 2026 festival, and it honestly felt like walking through a dream. The endless rows of tulips in shades of red, yellow, pink, orange, and purple were beautifully arranged, creating perfect lines stretching toward the mountains. With the misty hills in the background and blooming trees around, the whole place felt incredibly peaceful and scenic. I loved how every section had a different pattern and colour combination—some areas had vibrant straight rows, while others had more artistic floral designs. There were plenty of spots to pause, take photos, and just soak in the beauty. It did get quite busy, but the atmosphere was lively and enjoyable. There are also several handcrafted stalls inside and around the garden where you can explore local Kashmiri items, souvenirs, and handmade products, which added a nice cultural touch to the visit. Another highlight for me was discovering the Kashmir Chocolate Factory, one of the first chocolate factories in North India *Blicks* They offer bean-to-bar chocolates and unique flavours, and it was refreshing to see such a modern addition alongside the traditional experience. Definitely worth trying something from there 🍫 💰 Ticket Price: Around ₹100 per person 🚕 How to Reach: The best way to explore is by hiring a cab for the day, which usually costs between ₹2000–₹3000. It makes travel very convenient, especially if you’re planning to visit multiple places nearby. Also, keep in mind that the entry and exit gates are different, so plan your walk accordingly. Tips: • Visit early morning for the best views and fewer crowds • Wear comfortable shoes as there’s a lot of walking • Take your time every section is worth exploring Overall, it was a beautiful blend of nature, colour, and local culture. A must-visit if you’re in Kashmir during spring!

The Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden is an absolute sensory overload. As Asia's largest tulip garden, it transforms the foothills of the Zabarwan Range into a vibrant, terraced sea of millions of blooms. Overlooking Dal Lake, the seven terraced slopes offer a dreamlike backdrop for photography. It is only open for a brief window during spring (typically late March to April). If you are visiting Srinagar then, it is an unmissable, bucket-list experience.

The entrance fee to the Tulip Garden in Srinagar is around 50 INR per adult, with parking located about half a kilometre away. Nestled against the Zabarwan mountains and Dal Lake, it attracts nature lovers and photographers. The garden is meticulously maintained in terraces, showcasing a stunning array of tulips, especially from late March to mid-April when they bloom vibrantly. It's advisable to avoid weekends and afternoons to sidestep crowds, as it can become quite busy with limited seating. Walking through the garden offers a picturesque experience akin to a painting, ideal for capturing memories.

Lovely garden, well managed, very clean and blossom in it’s swing… Fountains and flower beds with different colors of tulips are amazing.. Garden is open now since 16th march and expected till 2nd week of April. A must visit and even drive around the Dal lake to reach is really scenic. It’s a very well managed garden with ample space for parking. Further if someone is stating at dal lake or hotel on boulevard road, it’s easier to reach by an auto instead of carrying your own vehicle.

"Visiting the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden was like stepping into a living painting. It’s easily one of the most breathtaking sights in Srinagar, especially with the Zabarwan Mountains serving as a dramatic backdrop. We saw rows upon rows of vibrant tulips in every color imaginable—the scale of it is just incredible. It’s the perfect place to get lost in nature and, of course, take some amazing photos. Even though it can get a bit crowded, the sheer beauty of the blooms makes it feel serene. People often ask why we’re short on class attendance; honestly, it’s because we’re busy being happy out there in places like this. If you’re in Kashmir during the blooming season, this is a non-negotiable stop. It’s a reminder of why they call this place paradise. A true 10/10 experience!" Best time to visit: Try reaching by 9:00 AM to beat the heavy crowds and get that perfect "clean" shot of the flower beds. Look for the fountains in the center; they provide a great symmetrical lead-in line for your photos!

I visited the during peak bloom, and honestly, it felt like stepping into a completely different world for a few hours. The first thing that hits you is the sheer scale of the place. I knew it was supposed to be big, but seeing it in person is something else. The garden is spread across multiple terraces, and each level opens up to a different mix of colors and patterns. There were rows and rows of tulips—reds, yellows, purples, whites—arranged so neatly that it almost looks unreal. And the backdrop just makes it even better: you have the Zabarwan mountains on one side and glimpses of Dal Lake on the other. It’s one of those rare places where even a random phone photo turns out great. That said, it’s not a quiet, peaceful garden like you might imagine. It gets very crowded, especially during peak bloom and weekends. At times, it felt a bit chaotic with people trying to take photos everywhere. If you’re someone who enjoys calm spaces, I’d strongly recommend going early in the morning. I went a bit later in the day, and while the colors looked amazing in sunlight, the crowd definitely took away some of the charm. Walking through the garden is actually quite enjoyable if you take your time. There’s a slight uphill climb because of the terraces, so be ready for a bit of walking. But every level gives you a slightly different perspective, so it never really feels tiring. There are also other flowers like daffodils and hyacinths mixed in, which add more variety beyond just tulips. One thing I appreciated was how well-maintained the place is considering the number of visitors. The pathways are clean, and the flowers are clearly taken care of. Still, I wish people were a bit more respectful—there were a few instances of people stepping into flower beds just for photos, which was disappointing to see. Overall, I’d say it’s absolutely worth visiting—but timing is everything. If you catch it during peak bloom and manage to avoid the heavy crowd, it’s genuinely one of the most beautiful places you’ll see in India. If you miss the peak or go at a busy time, it’s still nice, but not as magical as people hype it up to be.

We enjoyed the beauty of several varieties of Tulip. The Tulip Garden is a stunning garden located on the foothills of the Zabarwan Range in Srinagar, overlooking the Dal Lake. It is the largest tulip garden in Asia, known for its vibrant display of millions of tulips and other flowers. Best Time to Visit: The garden is a seasonal attraction, open only during the spring season. The peak blooming season is from late March to mid-April, when the tulips are in full bloom for the annual Tulip Festival. The exact opening and closing dates depend on weather conditions each year. Hours: The garden is generally open daily from around 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with slightly different hours on Sundays (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM). Getting There: The garden is approximately 8 km from Lalchowk Srinagar and 22 km from International Airport Srinagar. Tickets: The entrance fee is around 50 INR per adult and 20 INR per child, with online and offline booking options available. The garden was opened in 2007 to boost floriculture and tourism in the Kashmir Valley. It houses over 1.7 million tulip bulbs of 74 different varieties, in addition to other flowers like hyacinths, daffodils, and ranunculus. The stunning backdrop of the Zabarwan mountains and Dal Lake makes it a popular spot for nature lovers and photographers.

Visiting the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden during the Easter holidays was like stepping into a literal magic land, defined by the breathtaking sight of 1.8 million tulips in full bloom. Beyond the stunning floral display, the experience is enriched by the onsite availability of authentic Kashmiri fabrics, intricate handicrafts, and charming pottery shops that showcase the region's artistic heritage. The garden’s location at the foothills of the Zabarwan Range also offers a spectacular long view of the historic Pari Mahal perched high on the mountain slope, adding a sense of ancient grandeur to the vibrant landscape. At a very reasonable entry fee of 100 Rs for adults and 50 Rs for children, it offers an unforgettable blend of natural beauty, history, and local culture that is a must-see for anyone traveling through Srinagar in the spring.

Nestled at the foothills of the Zabarwan Range, the Tulip Garden offers a mesmerizing spectacle of nature. Designed in the classic Mughal style, the layout features symmetrical pathways, serene water channels, and elegant cascades. The garden truly comes alive in March, when a vibrant tapestry of tulips in every imaginable hue begins to bloom. Beyond the tulips, visitors can explore a diverse array of other flowering species set against beautifully manicured lawns and artistic flower beds. Arranged across gentle terraces, the garden offers a more accessible stroll than the nearby Chashme Shahi. Visitor Notes: • Entry: ₹75 per person. • Parking: A shared parking facility for both the Tulip and Botanical Gardens is located approximately 500 meters from the entrance.

Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden is now one of the best attractive visiting places in the month of March and April at Srinagar,Kashmir. We are the luckiest guys to visit this place in 20th march,2026 when generally this garden not open to other year.We have seen different colours of tulip in this garden. The entry fees of adult for garden Rs 100/- per person. This garden have separate paid toilet facility but toilet generally dirty all times because of not maintaining timely. I think this is the best garden in India for natural beauty and presence of tulip flower.

The Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden during tulip bloom is nothing short of magical. Endless rows of vibrant, perfectly arranged tulips set against the backdrop of the Zabarwan hills create a breathtaking and serene experience. The colors, the fresh mountain air, and the overall atmosphere make it a must-visit during spring. The only downside is the heavy traffic congestion around the area during peak bloom time, which can be a bit tiring. But once you step inside, it’s absolutely worth it.

Tulips are spring-blooming, bulbous herbaceous perennials in the Tulipa genus, famous for large, showy, cup-shaped flowers in diverse colors. Belonging to the lily family, they originate from Central Asia and are heavily associated with Dutch culture, where they sparked "Tulip Mania" in the 17th century. They are easy-care plants often grown in gardens.
