The one & only cinema in Dubai with art house movies. Atmosphere, vibes... impossible to describe.. you have to experience it. Not your regular cinema. Trust me .

What a lovely experience, it was so nice to have experienced a film here it was such the ideal spot for movie lovers. They had popcorn nachos and so much other options. The theatre itself was sooooo nice, but the couches were a bit uncomfortable, the screen and sound system were great tho. Overall great experience.

Amazing place with a chance of watching old movies on the big screen. One small detail; the sofa's frame was hard, it wasn't a comfortable seat. But I can change seat! Another small thing; parking is a nightmare.

We stopped by Cinema Akil just for a coffee. Mine came out cold at first, but the lady was really sweet and made me a fresh one. We also had a look at the movie theater, it was nice but had a bit of an off smell.

I visited this place forna coffee, I've never heard of this place until a friend of mine informed me that I should give it a try. It is a new idea as a cinema cafe, I didn't try the cinema, but I tried the coffee shop outside. If you decide to visit this place, you will like it for the below reasons: 1- The atmosphere is nice where they have photos of old singers and old photos. 2- The employees are nice and provide good service. 3- They have a small, calm outdoor seating, which you will love when the weather gets better. 4- The area is nice where it's full of restaurant and coffee shops. 5- The Karak and the coffee are good, but not the best. I can give it a 6/10. I will visit the place again to try the cinema experience.

Amazing unique cinema for who wants different experience, especially film gurus Go there if you wanna travel in time. Good service, good food and drinks .. etc No complicated procedures and everything seems like you are visiting a friend’s home The only cons that we faced are : 1- The area is bad specially for parkings the district security didn’t allow us to park inside the district so we had to park too far outside in the main street and walk to it. 2- I don’t recommended to watch black and white or very old movies because the audio system is calibrated for modern movies with clean audio .. our experience with audio was loud , distorted & bass is exaggerated ( 12 angry men ) Definitely will come back.

This place is such a vibe! If you haven't been and you like retro artsy places this one os for you. Project Chaiwala has great drinks and bites and is even better now with their collaboration with Lipton. You can try some unique tea blends that you won't be able to get anywhere else!

My fav movie theater for the quality of the movies proposed compared to the commercials one you can find in the city. The deco is also very beautiful. Feels like a jump back in the time (in the past century). It’s a must do if you pass by Alserkal Avenue.

An ansolute gem of a place in Dubai. Cozy, laid back and retro, perfect spot for an escape from Dubai's fast pace lifestyle. Film choices are also a big plus. Staff and restaurant are friendly. Have to book in advance for the popular films, best to visit during weekdays since parking outside can be a bit of a mess.

Small anti-Hollywood cinema in the heart of Dubai cultural life. Fantastic programmations. Currently the event of the year not to miss. A series of Palestinian movies everyone need to watch. I started with The Clown Of Gaza. The heartbreaking story of the real life of a wonderful human being…A MUST!

Nice casual ambiance for a mini cinema in a cosy home like setting. Shows more cultural movies and steers clear of commercial Hollywood like movies. Truly nourishing for the soul and widens ones perspective. Has a delicious selection of contemporary Indian street food. Tried the butter chicken and iced karak tea, simply great.

For the love of god change the very old musty sofas and seatings in the cinema!!! 7-8 yrs of it is enough for the already old used vintage style sofas. Uneven and lumpy and god knows what on these sofas in the dark of the warehouse cinema.

Cozy art house cinema. Good to have this in Dubai. The snacks are great too. Beware that, unlike virtually every other cinema, the movie may actually start exactly at the announced time! 🙂

Parking situation is not ideal, not enough Rta spots particularly during peak hours. Valet parking is extortionate 30 Aed per HOUR! It’s so stressful and uncomfortable. Dingy tiny one screen cinema, uncomfortable sofas, poor facilities, terrible toilets. Extremely overpriced for a “hipster quirky” type cinema and what it offers.

This is one of my favorite, go-to spots in Dubai, the brainchild of the endlessly-talented and gorgeous Buthaina Kazem, which was a splendid getaway from the glitz and consumer-crazed hotspots and the concrete jungle that litters the dubai skyline. This is a welcome respite from all of that. It is a chilled, laid-back hipster art house cineplex that harkens to a bygone era that recreates the charm and thrill of going to the theatre. I love the period-shabby posters covering the entire length of the walls as you walk into this quaint little campy joint with plush sofas and delectable food that instantly teleports you back a few decades. They tend to have screenings of indie movies and classics too not the usual fanfare of hollywood blockbuster movies which I love. This is definitely more for the cultivated niche crowd and for those looking for something more original.

this place is genuinely one of the coolest places in dubai. the diner concept at the front is amazing. the theatre itself is equipped with dolby surround sound which surprised me. the seats themselves are also very comfy. 10/10 if you love watching classics on the big screen. I also spoke to the person in reception and he seems very passionate about films.

I loved the place. It’s clean and the atmosphere is very nice. They show unique, interesting movies (I recommend Al Lyd movie), but I don’t understand why the cinema is so expensive. The parking is an issue as well, parking inside alserkal avenue is considered valet parking (50aed), or you park outside (couldn’t find a close one and the weather is really hot).

A lovely and cosy old fashioned cinema for classical movies fans with a variety of food and drinks. The interior is really unique and giving the old classy vibes, full with vintage film posters displayed in a modern way. The staff is incredibly nice and friendly.
