I honestly don’t understand the one-star reviews. I’ve stayed at several high-end hotels around the world, and this one ranks very high for me. After a last-minute flight cancellation, they were able to accommodate us on extremely short notice, which immediately set the tone for the stay. From the moment we arrived, every single staff member approached us with a genuine smile and made sure my wife and I were comfortable and taken care of. The level of attentiveness was remarkable—time and time again, the staff went above and beyond without being asked. The hotel itself is stunning. The views are amazing, the design is flawless, and the cleanliness is impeccable throughout. The buffet offered a large variety of food, all of it delicious and well presented, and the pools were a standout—beautiful, relaxing, and very well maintained. What truly sets this place apart is the customer service. It’s top-notch in every sense, and honestly, it doesn’t get better than this. We felt genuinely welcomed and valued as guests, and that made all the difference. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxury experience done right.

I had an wonderful stay and felt truly taken care of from the moment I arrived until I left. Every request was handled with genuine care, and the level of hospitality clearly shows that customer satisfaction comes first. A very special thank you to Mr Gayan from the Bell Service. He kindly accompanied me during check out and patiently waited with me for quite some time until my taxi arrived. His warmth, attentiveness and dedication made a lasting impression on me and truly represent outstanding service. The in room dining was also excellent and of very high quality. Unfortunately I caught a cold during my stay and could not explore everything, but I will definitely come back. A true five star experience. Highly recommended.

I had an absolutely fantastic stay at Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams. The rooms are incredibly comfortable and luxurious, offering the perfect blend of style and relaxation. Every single one of the amenities is excellent, from the pool areas to the dining options—there is clearly a lot of attention to detail here. I stayed for two nights at Cinnamon Life and experienced the very best hospitality from start to finish. The reservation process was so easy, and from the moment I arrived, every member of the team welcomed us with genuine warmth and the true Sri Lankan smile. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. I have travelled to many countries, including Dubai, and I can honestly say I have never experienced service like this anywhere else. One of the most beautiful people I met during my stay was the lifeguard — he shared his experiences, spoke with us for a long time, and we even took some photos together. At the front desk, Yenuli and the entire team were incredibly kind and supportive throughout my stay. The experience I had here is something I have never received in any other hotel around the world. Every Cinnamon property reflects a high standard of service, and Cinnamon Life truly sets the bar. Thank you, City of Dreams. I had stayed at the skyline suite twice and my experience has been wonderful. From the top management to all staff has. Den very professional and accommodating. We had an amazing stay at the Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams during our one night stay in Colombo. The staff were amazing and we are extremely grateful to Natasha Arumugam who helped us check in. She organised for some complimentary snacks on arrival which were very tasty after a long journey from Galle and to top it off arranged for a late check out which was extremely helpful ahead of an evening flight. The only small negative was the infinitely pool was unexpectedly closed for an event which was a shame as we were looking forward to some pool time enjoying the view of the ocean. The alternative pool has some nice city views, however it is shaded in the afternoon. The breakfast buffet was also a highlight with a very extensive selection of foods. Overall we had a lovely stay and a big thank you to Natasha again.

We had a lovely dinner this evening and overall it was a very pleasant experience. The food was fresh, well-presented, and full of flavor, especially the main course. The portions were generous and good value for money. The service was friendly and attentive, and the staff made us feel welcome throughout the meal. The atmosphere was calm and comfortable, making it a nice place to relax and enjoy a family dinner. We would happily return and recommend this place to others looking for a good meal with warm hospitality

Cinnamon Life was, without question, the worst so-called five-star hotel I have ever stayed in. It falls well short of expectations in both service and quality, especially considering the price. There are far better options available in Colombo at the same or lower rates. Service was slow and largely incompetent. When we raised a legitimate complaint about a room issue, it was poorly handled. The room itself was entirely standard, poorly prepared, not particularly clean, and had faulty shower fixtures. Housekeeping was extremely delayed—our room was only cleaned around 7:00 pm, despite multiple calls. Reaching staff was a nightmare, with phones often unanswered or calls automatically disconnecting. The pool was underwhelming, and the buffet breakfast was bland and poorly managed, with unfriendly staff and little sense of care or quality. While there were many staff members visible in the lobby, room service and guest assistance were clearly lacking. Cinnamon Hotels has always been a brand I trust, and I have stayed at almost all their properties multiple times. Ironically, this was the most expensive Cinnamon stay I’ve had—and by far the worst. This is the only time I have been genuinely disappointed by the brand. Management seriously needs to review customer care and service standards, as this stay felt more like a budget hotel experience rather than a premium five-star property.

The food was amazing, with great variety and quality, and every meal was a pleasure. Overall, I had a very good time and felt well taken care of throughout my stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would be happy to stay here again.

Hosted an office event here recently and was thoroughly impressed by the atmosphere. The location is incredibly modern with some truly creative design elements the lighting, in particular, creates a fantastic mood.The food was nice and well-presented, and the service was professional, friendly, and kept the space very clean. Location is great. Rooms are very nice. Very nice view of galle face beach. There is a mall downstairs, which you can walk around, though there isn't much of interest in the mall. Quite isolated in location, no supermarkets within walking distance. Ideal for those who don't want to leave the hotel, and wish to go to the casino.the rooms were reasonably sized, but rooms very quite pricey. Especially when compared to other places in colombo.

This is by far the worst, and I will stress on Worst, the worst food I have ever had at any place in my life. Everything was horrible. Everything. They manage to make even simple dishes that are the easiest to make tasty like pizza, burgers, sandwiches etc. completely horrid and tasteless. The rooms were clean because the hotel is new but the staff is not good. The hotel does not have five star service. It functions like a three star hotel. The good part was the rooms were fine in size, clean. Any room service takes 30- 40 minutes minimum. You might have to call multiple times for the same. The hotel has no greenery, no plants. They had sirens for scaring of birds on the roof. Very unnatural and very technical hotel. Just made of concrete and glass, no life, no natural ambience, no personality. The entrance is ugly also. Probably this hotel was made after cutting down many trees and harming wildlife because it discourages both. The hotel has no charm because it has no sympathy for nature or plants. Very mechanical hotel. I will not recommend staying here at all. People have probably made this hotel to gain profit and have no regard for nature around. They dont have anything for stray animals like food donation or anything. They waste all their food probably. Lifeless place with horrible food.

Had an amazing stay at Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams in Colombo! The hotel is modern, luxurious, and perfectly located in the heart of the city. We, a team from WSO2, were at Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams for several work-related sessions. It is located in a unique area, and the building design is quite attractive. There is ample parking space available for vehicles. The staff provided exceptional service during our sessions and throughout the meals. It is highly recommended for corporate activities. The food was also tasty, with a wide variety of options available at the buffet. Overall, I had a very good experience at Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams.

I’d like to congratulate and truly appreciate Bhāgya for her amazing service. She has been the main reason I became a Cinnamon Life member, and I also encouraged most of my friends, who are now Life members as well ,purely because of the experience she creates. I decided to spend Christmas Eve dinner at the Cuizine restaurant with my family and friends, and there were 13 of us altogether. I must also sincerely thank Eranda, who was exceptionally efficient in arranging a great table right in the center of the restaurant. The food was excellent, the ambiance was great, and the overall vibe was really enjoyable. The complimentary cake arranged by both Bhāgya and Eranda was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture, and we truly appreciated it. All in all, we had a wonderful experience at Cinnamon Life, and thanks to Bhāgya, for sure.

Now that I have your attention, here is an honest review for normal people. Anyone giving this hotel one star clearly lives in a different reality, probably one where they have never held a broom in their life and believe that flawless service is an automatic right. The hotel is extremely well run. The staff work hard, are genuinely friendly and do an excellent job. Ironically, this seems to upset a certain type of privileged, snobbish guest, who then feels compelled to invent problems instead of appreciating real quality. The view is fantastic, the pool is excellent, and the buffet is absurdly large, it feels like 200 metres of food. There is so much choice that it is literally impossible to eat everything, unless complaining burns more calories than dining. And honestly, who the hell smokes in a hotel room? What kind of manners is that? The fact that this even needs to be explained says more about the guests than about the hotel. All those one-star reviews are proof that there are people who have completely lost touch with reality. Tax the rich.

Perfect location with a cozy room and a great view of Colombo city. Gatz Bar was excellent and will definitely be one of my regular spots in Colombo. It made me purchase a membership too. 🙈 The main restaurant, however, was a complete letdown. It felt like a crowded Sunday market; loud, chaotic, overcrowded, and clearly understaffed. Food was served cold, and staff appeared indifferent. We had to hunt for a table, then ask three times just to have it cleaned and set up. Rewrite If you’re planning a Sunday cheat meal, I’d strongly suggest skipping this restaurant. You’ll be terribly disappointed by both the lack of variety and the poor quality of food served cold, no less. It’s definitely not worth the money or the calories. The staff at this hotel were surprisingly unwelcoming. It genuinely felt as though guests were seen as an inconvenience, almost as if we were staying there for free. Even at reception, I had to wait while the receptionist carried on a casual 15-minute conversation with a gentleman, despite a line of guests waiting to check in. Cinnamon Hotels have always been a brand I trust, and I’ve stayed at almost every property multiple times. Ironically, this was the most expensive Cinnamon stay I’ve had and by far the worst experience. This was the only time I’ve been disappointed by the brand. Management seriously needs to review customer care standards, as this stay felt more like a budget hotel than a premium one.
