City Central Library South Zone

Very irresponsible management. I lost some money from my bag which was a quiet huge money ,in the bag area where the library has a CCTV camera so we thought of keeping our bag there, but later we were told that the CCTV is not even working. Even the lady staff said many students have complained about missing money and she has also lost her money, yet they still haven’t fixed it. Staff were extremely rude and unhelpful when we reported it. If you value your belongings, be very careful before trusting this place. So next time anyone is keeping their bag in the bag area keep it at ur own risk😒.

There are not many references books there. They haven’t updated the books but it’s very convenient for people to read,study and prepare. You can carry your own laptops and books.

Good infra, old though and one needs recommendation from MLAor MP, member of library, govt. Gadzetted or head of an educational institution, to get a membership to borrow books. Sitting and reading is allowed.

I have been visiting this public library ever since my 2nd puc time , the atmosphere is calm and there is always silence inside the library , the staff are just okeish type , it is just 150-200 meters or approx from South End Circle metro station (green line), the junction of this circle is very large as there are 5 roads at a single circle , so if you are coming from metro , get down at the signboard displayed as 'Vijaya College side' and get down there , walk towards the circle and cross the circle via petrol/gas station and then just turn slight left with the blue board naming 'Bangalore Central Library - South Zone' displayed and just go inside the gate , and yes , note the timings of this library - it is from 8 am to 8 pm fyki. I like this library , even ALLEN students also come here to study too!!

The atmosphere in library is good, everyone is busy with their work, no disturbance. Such atmosphere encourages to study more diligently.

Difficult to find the novels of authors. Government is not oriented to keep good books of social, ancient history books published by learned scholars. Government authorities give importance of their choice and self interest. Library staff are also not cooperative with regular readers.

PLEASE NOTE - Second tuesdays of every month are a holiday Fourth Saturdays are also a holiday. Government holidays = library closed. Monday - opens around 10am closes around 5pm. Remaining days - 8.30am to 8pm. If library washroom is closed, use the South end circle metro washroom. Good study space. Electronic devices allowed. Charging ports present but not allowed to use (can't help library rules) Baggage deposit shelf available and it is compulsory to leave your bags in the shelf. No tokens will be given. It's solely your responsibility, but don't worry nobody will misplace your stuff. It is usually very safe. Drinking water available. Toilet available(behind the librarian/reception desk) No canteens, you can eat from nearby places. Great staff, very polite and approachable in general but particular staff members are strict so maintain behavior(especially that lady librarian is kinda strict) Categorised space. Newspaper readers ground floor. Self study/students sit in first floor. Nobody bothers you, just sit when you want and leave when you want. Great place if you're an introvert too. Please be mindful while using phones and laptops, use it for studies only. Don't disrespect others studying. Space is limited and if you are sitting there and wasting time then it's better you leave the space for others. Seats are comfy and even few writing pad made out of wood are available but you'll have to be there early to grab it for yourself. If you are new to the place and don't know anything, just tell the staff that you're new there and they'll help you. They are approachable. You can eat small snacks like chocolate in the library but just out of respect you can consider going outside and sit anywhere in the library premises under a tree and eat if you are hungry between study sessions. Drinking water/RO filter available in ground floor. Please make sure to switch on the RO filter before taking water as it might be off at times. Both gents and ladies washroom available inside library as well(located behind reception/librarian desk entrance is on right side of news paper reading area). If for any reason the washrooms aren't accessible, you may use the SOUTH END CIRCLE METRO STATION washroom (5mins from library by walk). Everything is free, only pay when you need to take a book home.

Incompetent as hell Trying hard to get a membership to borrow books but the sperate limited working hours for it was not mentioned at all Been very bureaucratic and hard to get a membership

Cool and calm place for students for their studies, also daily newspaper readers

You can take ur own books as well as laptops for study purpose. Very quite place to study. There is a garden as well, opp to the library which is opened from 4PM-8PM, place to park vehicles, hotels & shady place outside the library. On an average basis mrng n afternoon are peak hours in library.

If you are aspirant, this is a good place to study what I liked the most is the environment and the facilities of drinking water, restroom for men and women.

It's an excellent place to study , total silence people here often prepare of ias , neet pg , neet up etc . On Mondays 10:30 to 5:30 is the timing and every first Tuesday + second Saturday of the month is a holiday

Great atmosphere for study and reading news paper. Most of the news papers are available here. Malayalam books are not there but Mathrubhumi paper is there. Good quality chairs and tables also. Every month 2nd TUESDAY is leave.

Big public library located near to south end circle metro junction

Very good collection of literature and neatly maintenaned facility with all basic amenities in place for general public. Kudoos to the staff and management

It's very quiet nd clam place to sit and study. Separate sections for papers nd magazine. In the ground floor separate section for senior citizen. Well maintained place.

I would give 0 star for it because receptionist was rude 😡😡 and she was angry
