Coney Island Beach & Boardwalk

The Polar Bear Plunge which happens every January 1st is fantastic. And there's not a better place for it than the Coney Island Boardwalk and the beach there. Not only do they have a plunge into the water but they have DJ's very good ones who are playing music on the boardwalk. And there are large numbers of people dancing. It was just so much fun. Even though the temperature was 25 degrees and the wind was 25 mph. This is the happening place every New Year's day!

Coney Island, c’est une très grande plage avec un immense chemin pour se promener. L’ambiance est sympa, avec le Luna Park juste à côté et plein de restaurants et snacks à emporter. Par contre, attention aux petites bestioles sur la plage, ça peut être embêtant. Niveau équipements, il y a quelques douches, mais pour les toilettes, c’est vraiment limité : prenez vos précautions. Le métro est pratique, la station est juste en bas de la plage, donc c’est facile d’accès. Globalement, une expérience agréable si vous aimez les grandes plages animées et les attractions à proximité.

Coney Island is a must-see stop to include among New York’s attractions. Easy to reach by subway, first with the express and then the local line, it welcomes you with a truly unique atmosphere. Walking along the boardwalk brings back memories of so many movies filmed here and gives a feeling of nostalgia and magic. The amusement park, one of the oldest in the world, still has incredible charm: even if a bit rundown, it has an authentic soul that makes the experience unforgettable. Definitely worth a visit!

cool to finally see this place. beach is freezing, overcrowded, dirty, and a bit boring with like zero parking. the amusement park looks cool but pricy. food has lots of offerings and lots of cool vendors around as well as artists and performers. worth a stop on your tourism bucket list.

Der Coney Island Beachwalk ist eine sehr schöne Promenade und ein spannender Kontrast zum Großstadt-Dschungel New York. Die Shops und die besondere Atmosphäre wirken fast wie eine kleine Zeitreise – wirklich interessant. Es gibt gute Verpflegungsmöglichkeiten, dazu einen schönen Strand. Toiletten sind einigermaßen öffentlich, dafür aber kostenlos. Mit der Subway ist Coney Island außerdem sehr gut erreichbar.

Beautiful place but could be more cleaner and safer after 11pm. From beach to Luna Park there is plenty of attractions

Semplice arrivarci con la metro. Di fronte la stazione. Il parco è molto datato e si respira aria anni 80. Musiche dell'epoca. Un luogo mitologico. Comprende 2 parchi piccoli con molte giostre e un Acquario. La spiaggia è accessibile dal parco. Ben organizzata. Le giostre non si pagano singolarmente ma devi acquistare il braccialetto valido per le attrazioni.

Coney Island Beach & Boardwalk is the ultimate NYC summer spot! The beach is wide, sandy, and perfect for lounging, swimming, or just soaking up the sun. The boardwalk itself is iconic—wooden planks, the smell of fried dough and hot dogs, Nathan's right there, and that endless ocean view. People-watching is unreal: families, street performers, cyclists, everyone having a blast. Rides at Luna Park and Deno's are steps away, restrooms are available (and decent for a public beach), and it's super dog-friendly on the boardwalk (leashed pups everywhere!). Pure nostalgic fun—never gets old.

I love this place! I did not have a chance to try any ride but i still had a fun and enjoyable time there! I stayed there from the afternoon to late at night. The available restrooms till night makes it available for a longer stay!

Fun free fireworks summer Fridays until Labor Day. Bring a blanket, listen to the waves, and have a pre-fireworks picnic. Then, watch the awesome fireworks right on the beach. Perfect summer night activity for the whole family!

Coney Island is an absolute must-visit if you’re looking for a getaway that fills you with joy and warmth. I had the most exhilarating experience riding the oldest roller coaster here—it was super fun, and seeing my nieces let loose and share in that excitement made it even better! Although the food options here may be limited, you’ll always find something delicious along the beachwalk to satisfy your cravings. I’m giving it a full five stars because visiting Coney Island has been a childhood dream come true for me. But the magic doesn’t stop there. Beyond the attractions you see posted everywhere, there’s an endless array of unique experiences you won’t find anywhere else. Every corner of this vibrant destination is brimming with surprises that make you feel like you’re living in a fun-filled wonderland. I wholeheartedly recommend bringing your kids and teenagers along for the ride—they’re guaranteed to have one of the best times ever. Coney Island truly offers a one-of-a-kind experience that will leave you smiling long after you leave.

very windy with lots of people & musical artists. roses are a bit sketchy but very fun. Food is expensive but more available on the boardwalk.

Classic Coney Island Beach & Boardwalk—still the heart of Brooklyn summers! Walked the full stretch from Stillwell Ave down toward Brighton on a crisp early 2026 day, and it's holding up well: the boardwalk planks are in good shape overall (well-maintained by NYC Parks, no major tripping hazards or rot spots I noticed), sand is wide and mostly clean (some litter near high-traffic areas, but crews seem to stay on top of it), and the ocean views with the rides in the background never get old.

summer is right around the corner yall !!! We all know it ... visited Coney Island this past week for the 1st time and it was fun so many different things to do ... fun for the family for sure. Bringing the kiddos to the roller coasters next time

Coney island is a MUST visit for any au pair (and tourist, and honestly locals should give it a go as well). So many rides, great food and it's not very expensive. Remember that you'll get wet during the water rides (I assured my friend it looked like everyone stayed dry and boy was I wrong 🤣)

Beautiful beach, nice sand, a little chilly. I would return and recommend that others visit. It's probably best in the middle of the summer. I went during late September.

Coney Island Beach and Boardwalk transforms dramatically between peak season and off-season. In summer, it’s a bustling adventure with vibrant sights and sounds during events like the the Mermaid Parade or the 4th of July celebrations. But during off-season, it takes on a whole different character. You really must experience both! 🏖️🎡🌊

Der Strand besteht aus 2 Teilen. Wenn man am Rummelplatz vorbei zum weiter zu laufen. Da, wo die "russische Kolonie" anfängt ist es wesentlich gepflegter. Es gibt kleine Restaurants und Bars. Wir waren im Oktober dort und haben einen sonnigen Tag genossen.

I can't say enough about Coney Island. Everything about this place is fun and nostalgic. I've been visiting Coney Island since I was four years old. Now that my son is the same age, coming here stirs up so many memories. The boardwalk is so awesomely crowded with a diverse blend of people. Luna Park has great rides and some coasters, too. My favorite part of Coney Island is the food. Everything is here to eat within walking distance. All the games are fun to play, and the prizes got a lot better. When I was young, I traveled here on the D train. Now I get here with my car and I have to say that parking around this area is challenging. Overall, I highly recommend coming to visit Coney Island with the family and create some amazing memories.
