We recently stayed at Areca County, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. We had initially planned to stay for just one day, but after experiencing the warm hospitality, beautiful ambience, and amazing food, we ended up extending our stay by two more days. Their brochure mentions that “this is not a commercial venture -it’s a passion project,” and after staying there, I can truly say they live by this philosophy. The staff—Satish, Madan, Ganapathy—were exceptional. They were always available, caring, and added a personal touch to everything. The room was thoughtfully arranged with guides, brochures, and information promoting responsible tourism. Even small details like donation options and eco‑friendly practices were impressive and showed genuine intention. Overall, our stay at Areca County made our trip incredibly memorable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Honavar!

Totally loved this place -such a serene beauty and best find in Honnavara. Thanks to owner Pallavi for assisting n being kind from the day of booking. Staff- Madhan makes really cool food , service is great and we really enjoyed the home cooked meals & amazing plantation walk there. Extremely clean cottages and even the food hall is sparkling clean. I truly recommend this stay to anyone visiting Honnavara.

Stayed for 4 days, location, service , food all were excellent. They have limited cottages inside the farm which makes your stay even more relaxed and comfortable. Food make you feel like home. It's nearer to most of the tourists spots around honnavara, Murudeshwara, Yana, Jog falls, Gokarna..

This is one of the finest resorts I have had the pleasure of staying at. The food was simple yet perfect, and the location offered a peaceful and beautiful environment. Areca County is one of the best vegetarian homestays I have ever visited. The stay is completely vegetarian, offering delicious homely food that is less spicy and prepared just the way we requested. The meals were both tasty and reasonably priced. I stayed here with my family for four days, and we truly experienced wonderful hospitality and a peaceful stay. The cottages were very clean and beautifully located amidst lush areca plantations. The place is also conveniently accessible to several nearby attractions such as Murudeshwara, Yana, Apsara Konda, Sharavathi Valley Bridge, Jog Falls, Eco Beach, and many other scenic spots around Honnavar. A heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Pallavi, Mr. Sandeep Hegde, and the entire staff for their excellent hospitality. If you’re looking to escape city pollution and crowds, this is the perfect getaway — with just five cozy cottages surrounded by nature, it offers tranquility, comfort, and a true home-away-from-home experience.

Good and big rooms with seating area outside the room too. Good resort for couples to chill out. Helpful caretakers too. Very good homely made food. Good playroom to play carrom, chess. The road to the resort is well marked. A few recommendations 1) The price for dinner could have been slightly less. 2) There could have been a curtain to separate the dry and wet area in bathroom. 3) Please have the water body near the well fenced properly for added safety.

I stayed at this Areca County for 3 days. I was here with my family, 2 young kids, was looking for a place which is not filled with Alcohol and loud music, Areca county served us with blissful nature, silence, only heard birds chirping and kids playful sounds. This is the place if you are with a family and looking for an excellent company of people. Hospitality is excellent. Food is great, place is awesomeeee. Going to miss this place now .. The cottages are very spacious and pleasant to stay in. It is very picturesque, with its rustic, heritage-style design. The huge areca plantation is a joy to walk through. For those looking to escape the city for a vacation, it's a perfect place to stay. This is a gem of a place.

We stayed at Areca County, Honnavar for 3 nights and had a wonderful experience. This trip was very special for us as I was taking my parents and in-laws, along with my husband and daughter, to my maternal grandmother’s hometown for the Ganapathi festival. Planning wasn’t easy with a long road trip (350+ km) and coordinating everyone, but choosing Areca County made it all worthwhile. The private cottages are spacious, well-maintained, and equipped with all modern facilities, yet the place retains a homely warmth. The food was a highlight — freshly prepared, healthy, and delicious home-style cooking that made us feel cared for. A big thank you to Mr. Sandeep Hegde, the owner, who personally ensured our stay was comfortable. His team — Madan and Prashanth — were excellent, always attentive and responsive to our needs. Despite the unusually heavy rains during our stay, we barely felt the inconvenience thanks to their outstanding hospitality. Areca County is more than just a stay — it’s an experience of genuine care, warmth, and comfort. Highly recommended for families looking for a peaceful yet well-serviced getaway.

It was a wonderful stay beyond expectations. Lovely and luxurious cottages with all modern amenities and touch of heritage. The service provided by the staff was great and they took excellent care of us and were always there at any time of the day. Highly recommended for family especially with senior citizens.
