University of Peshawar is the 2nd oldest University in Pakistan, inaugurated on 30 October 1950. It is situated on Jamrud Road, in front of Khyaber Teaching Hospital locally called Sher pao hospital. This university offers BS, MS, MPhil and PhD degree programs in more than 40 subjects including Basic sciences, Social sciences, Natural sciences, numerical sciences and languages etc. It is considered one of the best seat of learning in the province and among top 10 universities of Pakistan. University campus is a beautiful place to reside with hostels for males, females, residential area, schools, colleges, vast playgrounds, parks and lush green environment.
