Had a wonderful experience at Daaura Thakali Restaurant! The staff were extremely welcoming—from the entrance security guards to the service team inside. The restaurant has a wide and comfortable space, making it perfect for relaxing dining. Loved the authentic Nepalese food, and the service was impressively quick with almost no waiting time. Staff were always available and attentive, ensuring everything was served on time. The balcony offers a beautiful city view, which adds to the overall experience. We visited as a group of 8, and they kindly arranged a separate room for us, making it even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for family outings and dinners!

The food was served impressively fast, within just five minutes of ordering. I tried the veg thali, and it was delicious with well-balanced flavors. The ambience is warm and inviting, complemented by a beautifully designed interior that enhances the overall dining experience. It’s a great spot in Pulchowk for anyone looking to enjoy genuine Thakali cuisine in a comfortable and friendly setting.

Great experience! I ordered the dhido thakali set and it was really good! The drinks were pretty good too! Very impressed with the ambience- they did a great job with the decorations. It really does give you the experience of dining in a fancy thakali place. The staff there were super friendly and tended to us extremely well! They were smiling throughout and were very attentive to what we wanted. 10/10 experience!

The food was delicious, though a bit on the expensive side. The ambiance was truly mesmerizing, and the service was warm, welcoming, and friendly, creating a wonderful overall experience. The service is quick and efficient, but I feel the value could be improved either by adjusting the pricing or increasing the portion sizes. Btw had a great time there

The starters were the highlight, especially the sadheko chicken, pangra fry, and grilled pork, all tasted amazing. The atmosphere and ambiance were also excellent. Unfortunately, the local chicken thali set was disappointing and didn’t feel worth the price or hype. To make it worse, there was even hair in the papad during the meal. Expected much better for the reputation and pricing.

We visited Daura Thakali for my birthday and ordered quite a variety of dishes. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the expectations we had for a place carrying the Thakali name. The mutton sukuti felt more like deep-fried meat with a very basic café-style preparation rather than the rich, smoky, spiced sukuti flavor you normally expect. The grilled pork was also quite plain and lacked character. The pizza was decent, but nothing memorable. Most importantly, the Thakali set itself tasted fairly basic and didn’t really deliver that authentic Thakali experience or depth of flavor. That said, the service and ambience were genuinely nice. The staff were attentive, friendly, and even sang happy birthday for us, which we truly appreciated and made the moment special. The restaurant also has a pleasant atmosphere. Overall, a great place in terms of service and ambience, but the food — especially the Thakali items — was the main letdown. Hoping the flavors improve in the future because the place definitely has potential.

I had an incredible dining experience at Daura Thakali! The food was authentic, flavorful, and hit all the right notes for a perfect Thakali meal. A special shoutout to Suhana, who was hands-down the best staff member. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure our dining experience was seamless from start to finish. It’s rare to find such high-quality service paired with great food. Highly recommended

We had Thakali food and drinks. The atmosphere was great, and the overall vibe was really enjoyable. However, I didn’t like the Thakali set that much—i felt is cheaper for the quality compared to other places. That said, the ambiance was excellent, and the live music at night made the experience much better.

We recently visited Dauri with high expectations and ordered Mustang Aloo, Thakali Sukuti set, and Chatamari. The Mustang Aloo was decent, but the Sukuti was disappointing. Instead of the traditional style, it felt like the meat was simply deep-fried, almost like crispy fried lamb, which took away the authentic sukuti flavor and texture we were hoping for. The Thakali set overall didn’t meet expectations either. The chicken curry was very basic and tasted like a regular curry rather than the rich, homely Thakali-style preparation that makes this dish special. We were also excited for the Chatamari, but unfortunately, it didn’t taste authentic. The flavors and texture were quite different from the traditional version. Overall, the food was okay, but not as authentic or flavorful as we expected, especially for dishes that represent such strong cultural roots. We hope the kitchen can improve the authenticity and preparation in the future.

Such a nice decorative place and lovely evening with family members. Food was amazing. Very friendly and cooperative staff service, great communication and explanation of food that they would provide. Please reserve prior coming in so you have a table ready for you. Don’t forget to visit the roof top.

Wonderful place with amazing staff members. The food was a delight, staff is well aware and helpful. Good place and well curated interiors giving touch to Nepalese cuisine at a great range. Visited for dinner, seating on the terrace area gave good views of the city. Multi cuisime options and elaborate menu. Portions sizes are big. Multiple seating options available including traditional styles. A huge place and very well designed. Highly recommended.

First and foremost, the food was great. Thakali Set was top notch. You could have add-ons of any item you wanted. It was really value for money. Our server Dipen dai was so sweet. He made the outing a bit more fun with his hospitable nature, always had a smile on the face and well mannered. All the staffs were very responsive too.

Well there is nothing much to share, we were able to taste true thalaki food with plenty of varieties and service was truly genuine. There is something I want to share a small suggestion that made me feel slightly uncomfortable. When customer have paid triple charges than usual rate than you shouldn't be greedy much. Everything was add-on except mutton where mutton add on request we only get gravy not the pieces. My suggestions was adding 2 pieces will not impact the company but it's perception. Mutton was made as Indian curry style not the authentic thakali style. Overall everything was good fully satisfied with service and location.

Daura Thakali Pulchowk【硬い砂肝とミルクティー】カレー外 ◉チア(マサラチャイ) 175Rs. ■パングラフライ 440Rs. カトマンズ南部のパタン旧市街を楽しんだ後に、古い街並みの裏通りの風景を楽しみつつ北上すること30分くらいで、随分とひらけたところに来ました。 これ？車のディーラーのビルです。今朝がたカレーの学校仲間から2〜3週間前に印度カリー子さんが来た店だよとおすすめされて、頑張って歩いてきたんです。 ここの7階は室内、8階はルーフトップというお店ですが、暑い中歩いてきたので7階を選びます。 若い印度カリー子さんならここでダルバートが正解なのですが、私は2倍の年齢で胃袋も小さいながら、課題もあるので他の選択をします。 カレーの学校卒業生のビンゴというかスタンプラリーみたいなネパール料理課題。未達メニューから店員さんにおすすめしてもらって、パングラフライとチアを注文しました。 パングラって鶏の砂肝のことなんです。ネパール料理の標準的肉料理はだいたいみんな超合金レベルに硬く焼き上げるのですけど、そんな砂肝が30個くらい入っていそうなボウルを見て、これは良い顎のトレーニングだと心得ました。自分の親が固いものを食べられない年寄りになったことを思えば、日々ネパール料理で鍛えておけば、80歳過ぎても好きなものを食べられることでしょう。味はかなりいいです。ただ硬い。 チアは、ミルクたっぷり甘いマサラチャイのことを言います。これでほっと一息つけたのでした。 ２つ攻略しました。 めでたしめでたし #DauraThakaliPulchowk #パングラ #チア #ネパール料理 #パタン #カトマンズ #ゴーグル仮面

Had a wonderful experience at Daura Thakali. The food was authentic, delicious, and served fresh with great quality. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable, making the whole dining experience even better. Special appreciation to Suhana sister for her kind hospitality, friendly behavior, and excellent service. Reallyhad a great time here. Very cozy and staff are very accommodating. The vibe here is really refreshing. Had a very stress week due to work, but coming here made me relax and fooooood was great. Definitely would recommend to others.

Today i went to Daurali Thakali Pulchowk , and i was astonished with the ambiance. Not only that , the staff were too humble and polite , especially Dillip Gurmachhan Magar who was serving us for entire dinner . I love to go again and highly recommend to visit atleast once.

The food was really authentic, and all the service employees were very friendly and professional. We were served by Suhana; she was absolutely great, as her customer service was very good. We will surely visit again.

After the fire incident, I visited Daura Thakali again and I’m happy to see they are back. The food was delicious as always and the service was warm and welcoming. Wishing the team great success and a strong comeback. Highly recommended for authentic Thakali taste
