Drop Inn Hostels

This hostel was honestly amazing probably the most happening hostel I've ever stayed at. I met so many random and interesting people here. I only planned to stay for one day, but every night I kept extending my stay for the next day because I was having such a good time that I didn’t want to leave. I didn’t even feel like going out much, I just enjoyed being at the hostel itself. The morning ginger tea was definitely a highlight. I have to head to Negombo for some work, but I'll probably be back the day after tomorrow because I really want to stay here again. I loved everything about this place the staff, the people, the vibe, and the surroundings. Easily one of the best hostels I've stayed at, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting Colombo.

My partner and I were brought from the airport to here on arrival, so simple! Taxi driver was great! We booked a yoga class through the hostel the next day and everything was taken care of including the tuktuk to and from the yoga studio. Just what we needed after a long flight haha...The lady at the front desk ( Beenu) was great help with any questions we had... We are Aussie and this was a great first experience for us in Sri Lanka

This is a great hotel in Colombo if you are traveling alone. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. Everything is clean, especially the bathroom, which is extremely clean and comfortable — something I really appreciate. The bed is clean, and the air conditioner works perfectly. I had a very good night’s sleep here. The price is very reasonable for the quality of service you receive.

Had a really cool experience staying at Drop Inn Hostels in Colombo not long ago — what a vibe this place has! Relaxed, social, and not too hectic, with a really pretty courtyard and garden area out the front that creates such an inviting common and dining space. Definitely a top spot to meet new people. The dorm rooms were very clean and comfortable, as was the private room I also stayed in for a few nights. Working A/C in the bedrooms, well-kept washrooms, a great selection of food, juices, and coffee from the hostel café, plus a convenient location and positive attitude from the staff all made it a sweet stay. 5 stars to the whole team, and to Beenu at reception as well — she was genuinely kind, super friendly, and helpful the whole time, which made it a really welcoming stay. If you’re looking for a hostel in Colombo with good energy, cool people, and a homely atmosphere, and all for very reasonable prices, this is it. Would definitely stay here again!

Me encantó hospedarme aquí! Encontré muy conveniente que tuvieran un dormitorio solo para mujeres. Me pareció muy cómodo y suficientemente privado. El baño solamente tiene acceso desde el dormitorio lo cuál me pareció ideal. El espacio común es lindísimo! Tienen muchas plantas e incluso un estanque. Todo el personal de servicio fue excesivamente amable conmigo. El servicio de cocina es eficiente y delicioso. Siempre tuve contacto con Beenu, quien resultó ser una maravillosa persona, dispuesta a hacer de tu estancia algo muy agradable. Tienen muchas recomendaciones acerca de Colombo e incluso un programa semanal de actividades. Muchas gracias por recibirme, pasé un tiempo muy especial.

Hola! yo quiero compartir mi experiencia que he tenido con Drop Inn. Desde que llegue a Sri Lanka, he estado con ellos cada vez que tuve que venir a Colombo, hace dos meses que estoy en Sri Lanka y siempre que vine a Colombo, he elegido Drop Inn. El personal es muy bueno, gentil, noble, y respetuosos. Siempre con una sonrisa, y predispuestos ayudarte en lo que necesites. Los managers, tambien, como el personal, siempre cuidando cada detalle, y atentos a solucionar cualquier inconveniente. Beenu es una increible hoster, desde el primer dia, su energia me hizo ver que Sri Lanka era un lugar al que tenia que venir. Yo estuve en habitaciones compartidas, y todo impecable. Habitaciones limpias, frescas, camas comodas y practicas, con enchufes universales para conectar lo que necesites. Es un ambiente de viajeros, hay gente que se queda mas y gente que se queda un dia para empezar su travesia, pero siempre conectas con las personas que estan, y con el lugar. A veces musica en vivo, movie night, quiz game night, y las tardes son muy amenas. La locacion es muy buena, esta a 15 minutos de Havelock City Mall, y a 200mts tiene un market completo. Buena comida, buen cafe, buena gente. Si tienen que estar en Colombo, Drop Inn es la mejor opcion a mi parecer. Dios bendiga a todas las personas de Drop Inn, gracias!

Just wowwww. The cleanest hostel I have ever been to with clean washrooms and bathrooms. Had a amazing experience. But if you are going there in summers the dorm that has 6 beds would be hot as AC is only one and beds are covered.

Stayed here upon first arriving into Colombo and what a wonderful comfortable little place this is. The staff were excellent, and the place had a really relaxing atmosphere. England V Sri Lanka cricket was on so we organised a tour from the hostel who put mini bus on for us all and got us a beer to travel with! Our bags were lost at the airport so we had no luggage, the staff phoned around and helped secure our bags which was a relief! Evening time was such a social event, staff putting on entertainment, which got everyone involved. Brilliant place for travellers, particularly if you are going it alone! Definitely recommended.

Thanks so much for a great stay. This was our first stop on our month long trip of Sri Lanka and we left with a great impression. The rooms, bathrooms and common areas were always kept clean. Great showers, comfortable and private beds. Lockers available. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful. I especially want to mention the male member of staff with glasses (sorry I didn’t get your name) who went over and above to help me when I got sick. He got me a tuk tuk and took me to the hospital (very close by) and checked in on me when I got back. Thank you so much, you made a horrible situation a lot better. I won’t forget it!

A bit further south than colombo center. If you're looking for a quiet and cozy place that's the place. Great vibe and amazing people. Staffsuper kind and available. Dorm is good, beds are comfy, terrace is very cozy. Great value for money!

If like me u want to stay a night in Colombo before beginning your travels around Sri Lanka this place is about 30 mins from the airport but if ur catching a bus or train ur going to have to head back in the direction Of the airport so more centre Colombo could be better. The price is really the only thing and other travellers if u really want to Chat to others it’s good. But it’s one of the loudesy hostels I’ve stayed in. It’s sooo hot and stuffy and u have to ask yourself if saving some money on a hostel is worth how tired u will be the next day. Park road is a good Main Street though, which ester is off. If ur a light sleeper stay clear though.

¡Muy buen hostel en Colombo! Nos volveremos a hospedar. Un hostel súper acogedor, con todos los servicios disponibles. Es tanto relajado como social, la perfecta combinación, para lo que te apetezca en el momento. Los servicios están muy bien, destaca mucho su limpieza y orden. Eso se agradece muchísimo. Tiene un patio con un jardín y un bar, servicio de consigna y lavandería a buen precio… Es completísimo!! Son muy flexibles con todo lo que necesitas, sea del tipo que sea! Te ayudan siempre y quieren que tengas la mejor experiencia. No tienen opciones veganas, pero puedes pedir que cambien un poco las comidas que ofrecen como de desayuno, y sin problema. El avocado toast estaba muy bueno. Cada noche tienen planeado algun evento. Y es perfecto! No hay mucho ruido si quieres dormir, pero puedes socializar si tambien te apetece. Muy cerca tiene un supermercado con montón de cosas. Gracias, nos vemos pronto!

To be honest it’s really bad for the price not clean at all lot of cockroaches and rats at night! They are charging very expensive prices for everything the bed had no curtains and they didn’t want to function the air conditioner! It’s a bit similar all over Sri Lanka they are really taking the peace of tourists and try to milk every single one of them until the last penny! Just to give you an idea 1.65€ for 1 expresso in this even more expensive than Paris or London! I loved the beach in this country but the social experience is 0! Lot of scams all over the country!

The hostel would have been okay, if it weren't for the fact we had bedbugs in our dorm. At least 3 out of 6 beds had them including mine. I told the staff and they changed the bed curtains where I found them, but really, they need to deep clean the whole room and mattresses. The hostel itself seemed nice, it's basic, but for the price, what I expected. The staff seemed nice.

Il personale è di una gentilezza unica! Mi hanno aiutato per qualsiasi cosa anche dopo essere stata loro ospite in ostello. La struttura è pulita e accogliente, ristorante e cibo ottimi. Isola felice nella busy Colombo. Raccomando vivamente❤️

Great service and amazing food!! Location also very nice and quick tuk tuk drive to the city center. Unfortunately low rating, because of bed bugs in our dorm room. We recieved a refund, which was nice, but unfortunately we had to spent more money on the laundry - washing all of our clothes and personal items to get rid of the bed bugs. And unfortunately it seems like the staff already knew about the situation with bed bugs.

Good start for visiting Sri Lanka. We had a double bed room, AC, fan and bathroom. Location is good, you can walk to most important places or catch a tuk tuk. The food they make is also really good and fairly priced for a hostel in Colombo. There is an ATM and a store around the corner.

I only stayed here 1 night for a pit stop. The staff are lovely, the bed was comfortable, most beds have curtains but mine was in the wash. Its a great location and good value for money.

Wonderfully chill place! Fantastic vibe: sitting under very big mango tree, mear the koi pond, feeding a sqirrel by hand. It's a great place to meet people - I've been here for 3 weeks! Highly tecommended!

The hostel really has potential but has bedbugs. I had over 40 bites on body after two nights there. I didn’t sleep for the two nights as I was woken up all night from the bites. When i told them about it, it was clear that they already knew about the issue and quickly offered a refund. The staff was really nice and food was great.
