Erode Amman Mess after hearing a lot about their traditional South Indian non-veg meals and biryani. The place definitely has a local mess-style vibe and attracts a decent crowd, especially during lunch hours. If you enjoy authentic Tamil-style flavors with a homely touch, this place may appeal to you.
The food was decent overall, but the experience felt a bit inconsistent. Some dishes had really good flavor and spice balance, especially the gravies and side dishes, while a few items felt average and slightly oily. The biryani had a nice aroma, but the taste didn’t completely live up to the hype for me. Portion sizes were fair, and the pricing was reasonable considering the location in T. Nagar.
One thing that could definitely improve is the service and dining management. During peak hours, the place becomes very crowded and a little congested, making the experience less comfortable. Waiting time for tables and food was longer than expected. Staff members were managing a heavy crowd, but service felt rushed and not very attentive.
Cleanliness and maintenance were acceptable but could be better, especially considering how busy the restaurant gets. Parking nearby can also be difficult, which is common in the T. Nagar area.
Overall, it’s an okay place if you want to try traditional Tamil-style non-veg food in a busy local setup, but there’s still room for improvement in consistency, service, and overall comfort. Some dishes were enjoyable, but the experience as a whole felt average compared to the expectations. I’d personally rate it 3/5.
