What a great and lovely couple to be hosted by! In the end we ended up staying 4 days with Mehi and Mahmoud, we just didn't want to leave. The Friendly Hostel is a home stay for up to 6 guests, breakfast is eaten together in the morning, we also had several other meals together (thanks for such fantastic food!). 3 double rooms in their apartment, shared bathroom and shower. Mahmoud is also a great guide for Persepolis and other activities around Shiraz, we had a lot of fun going towards the mountains. Both of them helped us with everything imaginable, they know the best times to visit places, got some hints on great food places and most important they are just great, hospital people

The Best hostel where we stayed in Iran. Friendly hostel really deserves that name It was the best hostel of our 4 weeks trip in Iran where we stayed. We felt like home after short time because they are so unbelievable warmhearted, kind, lovely, funny and totally nice people. We made some trips with them what was really fun They are super cute couple and make everything that you feel comfortable. You can laugh with them so much, however also serious talks... If you need something they do everything to help you. For me this is the perfect and friendliest hostel and I can recommend them to 1000% They are just great!! Hope I will see you again Missing you

From the first second you enter the hostel, you feel like home. The two hosts are really hearty people, that make your stay special. I enjoyed the time a lot, having tea and deep conversations in the living room. You experience a lot about Iran and the Iranians and also the history about Persia, the two are guides though. I booked the tour to Persepolis, which was amazing. The room is simple but homely, the bed is comfortable. Breakfast is nice with egg.

I really enjoyed staying with Mehi and Mahmoud in Shiraz. They are both really friendly and easy going people. The accommodation is humble, but pretty much everything you need. There's plenty of restaurants around the area and it is walkable distance to the majors sits. Breakfast was nice and enjoyed together in a common area. There are 3 rooms in their apartment that can accommodate up to 6 guests. What really stands out is taking a trip or talking with them. Do go to Persepolis with Mahmoud! It is a strange feeling when you are leaving as it really feels like you are leaving old friends though you have just met. It was fun staying with them!

Mehrane & Mahmoud are both super hospitable, helpful and kind, they are also both professional tour guides so they know all the useful information you need to know in order to have a great stay in Shiraz. They are super open-minded and willing to share about their culture and curious about the guests' cultures. We had a lot of interesting conversations that gave me a deeper understanding of Iran. It was like staying at an old friend's place. I recommend it to anyone who wish to have a real and enriching experience of Shiraz.

Staying at Mahmoud and Mehranes place, "Friendly Hostel Shiraz", was one of the best decision of our entire trip. It felt like home, just abroad. Mahmoud do great trips around the area, and Mehrane makes it cozy to stay at the place. I will definitely stay there next time im in Shiraz. I visited Shiraz during the winter of 2018/19.

Friendly Hostel made our stay in Shiraz amazing. They make you feel at home as soon as you walk in the door. They were very accomodating even allowing us to check-in in the middle of night. They help with recommendations and helped us book the remainder of our trip in Iran. Highly recommended staying here, will be recommending to any of my friends who visit Shiraz

It was such a amazing hostel. Couple who runs this hostel is very helpful for everything. They arranged my itinerary perfectly. Furthermore, I couldn't stop laughing in the hostel with the people at all. They are so kind and active. If u want to find the right hostel in Shiraz, Friendly Hostel is best option for u. One more thing, there are several different locations of hostel on maps.me, because they moved few times. So call the hostel first. :)

Hosts are extremely nice, kind, interesting and helpful people, if it's all possible in this country :) This lovely couple treated us like family, so we were able to ask about everything, and spend quality, mind-opening time together. If you're shy don't be nervous, they won't be pushy or undiscreet if you prefer to get some rest. Mehrane offered heart-melting hospitality, everyday meals and many activities, we truly recommend guided trip to Persepolis with Mahmoud.

Mehrane and Mahmoud are very kind, interested and hospitable hosts who will do their best to make you feel comfortable. They gave me very good tips about places to visit and even came along to some of them. Through them I met other locals and travellers, too. As a solo traveller I never felt alone in Shiraz. Mehrane and Mahmoud picked me up from the bus when I arrived. We had some very interesting conversations and they shared personal insights into their daily life in Shiraz. I can recommend friendly hostel to anyone looking for a homestay!

I highly recommend you to stay at Friendly Hostel. Mehrane and Mahmoud are great hosts and helped me a lot with buying a new phone after I lost my old one. Mahmoud who picked me up at the airport is also a great tour guide. I visited Persepolis and had a great tour with him there. You won't find a better accommodation in Shiraz!

My brother and I had such a nice time with Mahmoud and Mehrane! They are the friendliest hosts, always taking care of us, sharing treats and hints about Shiraz. Their knowledge about the surroundings is impressive and you'll be able to get the best guided tours if you want. Highly recommended.

Thank to our lovely hosts for having us! In their hostel, you may get a good feeling about how the great and famous Persian hospitality works! :) We can also warmly recommend their tour to Nicropolis and Persepolis! We hope to come back to Shiraz again - and visiting Friendly Hostel! :)

We spent a couple of nights in friendly hostel in March 2017 (old location). This was our best experience in Iran! Simple and cosy but most important: 100% welcoming with full heart and friendship! The lovely couple is helpful with everything, and we felt cared for like at home. If you finally need a great birthday cake: Mehrane knows where to find it ;-). Thanks so much!

The last time I was in Shiraz was two years ago. That time wie stayed at M&M’s hostel. After this experience it was clear to me that I’m going to stay with these two again if I should be back in Shiraz. I love how they take care of you, organise everything for you, how fun they are. The apartment itself is located pretty much in the center of the city. Everything is nearby and the Vakil Bazar just 15 minutes by walk. The rooms are clean and you get a very nice breakfast in the morning. I hope to see them both for a third time, I would recommend this accommodation to everyone.

Excellent people, it makes feel like home. It's the perfect place to be part of Iran and to discover the Iranian culture. Both hosts are tour guides and enjoy to share their knowledge. After 4 nights, it has been difficult to leave. I highly recommend.

Our second family in Iran! I stayed with Mehrane and Mahmoud back in March in their last home and it was simply marvellous! They were absolutely lovely hosts. They came to pick us up at the airport in the early hours of the morning when we arrived and took such good care of us during our time in Shiraz. We felt at home at their place. We even returned to their house while we were passing by Shiraz again at the end of the trip before going home just to see them and have another cup of tea with them. Mahmoud also organises tours to Persepolis which is great! We'll be back to visit their new place which looks even more lovely.
