Ginger - MG Road, Kochi

I have stayed at Ginger Kochi twice over a year in March both times, in 2025 and 2026. The biggest advantage one has with the Ginger Kochi is its location, which is off the busy M.G. Road. The hotel is a re-badged property and the age and need for better maintenance shows right at the entrance, though the interiors including the rooms are good. In my most recent visit I stayed in a corner room on the sixth floor. The lobby is big and the restaurant is on the ground floor at an elevated level. Check in and check out was smooth though the property has few employees at the front desk. I ordered food for lunch on the day I arrived and it came swiftly. The order of fruit chaat and dal khichadi had right portion size and both dishes were well made. On the day of my check out I found out the hotel had no a la carte menu likely due to the shortage of LPG gas across India at that time. So, I decided to skip the buffet which was the only breakfast option. The room was mid sized and had good amenities. The shower did not deliver hot water fast though. The room was quiet at night and made for good sleep over two nights in my Mar 2026 visit. There are numerous restaurants of different types in vicinity of the property which one can approach by foot. Also, the hotel is close to the Maharaja College Kochi Metro station for transport options I recommend Ginger Hotel as a budget hotel in the heart of Kochi though they could improve on the maintenance of the exteriors to make it look cleaner and newer.

Ginger Kochi, MG Road gave me a really pleasant stay. I had a great day here overall. The rooms were extremely clean and well maintained. The service was very good, and the team was quick to respond to any request. Everyone was friendly, courteous, and supportive, which made the stay comfortable and stress-free. The breakfast was very tasty, hygienic, and well organised. Overall, a smooth and positive experience—definitely a place I’d recommend for a comfortable stay in Kochi.

This Ginger hotel is one among the budget segment of IHCL. Located in Doraiswamy Iyer road at MG Road kochi. Nearest railway station is Eranakulam junction and nearest metro station is MG road. It can be reached in less than 2 km from both stations. Staffs are very polite, professional and helpful. Rooms were good and meat and comfortable. Room keeping services were also efficient. Check in time is 14:00 and check out time is 12:00. It's also one of the best stay option near to Kerala High court and Marine drive area. There is a restaurant inside named Cumin. Pool, wifi, laundry etc amenities are available.

My family stayed here for 2 days, we had a great time , great location , amazing staff and clean room, Monika at the Qmin restaurant went above and beyond to take care of my kids while they were having breakfast , all the staff were Curtious, Helpful and welcoming, will highly recommend anyone to stay at this property in Kochi.....

Probably the worst management I’ve seen for a hotel chain ever. Keycard machine doesn’t work so they needed to escort me in and out of the room each time. Can’t generate a receipt when I check out. Power failures multiple times. This is beyond bad. Worst of all, house keeping seems to disregard making the bed.

Pathetic hotel, they are situated in the corporate place and having check-in timing like a resort 2pm. How will corporate companies will book this hotel, if they have this timing. All my meetings collapsed, no alternate place to freshen up. Unfortunately I booked for my employees as well.

Had a pleasant stay at Ginger MG Road early this month. Friendly staff, clean room, sumptuous breakfast. Worth the money.

Rooms are not the level of ginger tata brand .At par with the local lodges and guest house type or can say type of oyos.Room service is very poor they can't able to give sleepers for two hours.Reception is not answering the calls and restaurant is also not answering the calls after taking the order and food is also not received as it's been ordered

⭐ 1/5 – One of the worst “4-star” hotel experiences One of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in under the 4-star category. The bed sheets were unchanged, rooms looked like old 2005-era Bangalore hotels, and the bathroom had a strong smoke smell. The overall condition and cleanliness are nowhere close to 4-star standards. We couldn’t even stay there — left the property within 10 minutes. Complete waste of money. Very disappointing experience.

A decent hotel to stay and enjoy a the scenic beauty of Cochin. Rooms are good enough and worthy. Still room for improvement is there!

Poor service. literally they are not entertaining any service request from customer. Room is spacious and good but… they failed to provide extra bed and early packaged bf request. No assistance to keep our luggage to room.

A value for money pit stop for all visiting Ernakulam. Located adaject to MG road and Ernakulam Junction Railway station. Rooms and spacious, comfortable and neat. Can be booked on hourly basis which is very convenient for those making a short trip for business and shopping

⭐ Poor Service Experience at Ginger MG Road, Kochi My recent experience at Ginger MG Road, Kochi was very disappointing. The hotel has a poorly managed parking facility, and there was no one to guide vehicles into their narrow parking area. The security staff were unhelpful and did not provide any assistance, making parking unnecessarily difficult. There was also no support offered to carry luggage from the car to the reception, which is a basic service guests expect at any hotel. Additionally, the breakfast was far below expectations. The food options were very limited, and items like dosa, idly, and others were served cold. The overall quality and variety of breakfast definitely need improvement. Overall, the service experience was not satisfactory, and the hotel needs to significantly improve its parking assistance, guest support, and food quality.

Hotel at good location and facility rooms are very good as per standard rates. staff behaviour are cooperative.

Everything was fine with the hotel. The rooms were smaller than expected. once we kept our three bags, there was hardly any space left. However, the cleanliness and staff service were good. The only issue we faced was after our 3 day stay. Once we checked out, we had around 3 hours before our train. We requested a room just for 15 minutes so my wife could change before heading to the railway station, but they didn’t allow it. Usually, other hotels are considerate and at least offer a room bathroom for a quick freshen up.

Nice rooms and extremely friendly staff. We especially got great service from Mr Tanzeel who helped with transportation and booking our next hotel. We visited in high season and really needed his help. Thank you.

Today we visited the ginger kochin wich we book for rest it was very good and familiar experience first the room are very comfortable second thing is the food was very delicious and the staff was very friendly. Overall it was good experience thank you ginger kochin

I'm thoroughly impressed with this hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm and welcoming. The dining experience, in particular, was exceptional, largely thanks to Mr. Manuraj, the Food & Dining Manager. His personal attention to our table and his dedication to accommodating dietary requests truly set the experience apart. He is a genuine asset to the Ginger Kochi team.
