Its a very Small Cave but very beautiful. Its on the way to Kudle Beach. The entrance is bit tricky and you need to take help for Direction. Its just on the opposite side of road to Kudle Beach Resort. A small temple of Shiva Inside. Road to the cave is very rocky and one must drive very very carefully. Car preferable. By walk from Road Parking to Cave it only takes 5 min max.

Gogarbha Shiva Cave – A Peaceful, Mystical Spot in Gokarna 🕉️✨ We visited Gogarbha Cave during our trip to Gokarna, and it turned out to be one of the most unique and divine experiences of the entire journey. The cave is located on a small uphill path from Kudle Beach, surrounded by lush greenery and rocks. It’s not easily visible from the road, but there are signs and friendly locals who’ll guide you to the spot. The Shiva Cave (Gogarbha) holds great mythological significance — said to be associated with Lord Shiva, Ravana, and Lord Ganesha. The moment you step inside, you can feel a deep sense of calm and energy — the kind that instantly connects you to something ancient and sacred. The cave is dark and naturally lit only by diyas, just like traditional garbhagrihas in old temples, which adds to its spiritual aura. A few tips if you’re visiting: • Carry a torch or use your phone light, as there are no artificial lights inside. • It’s a bit slippery, especially during monsoon, and you’ll need to remove your shoes before entering. • The place is quiet and serene, but do be careful — it’s inside a forest area, so there could be bats or small wildlife. The walk to the cave takes just about 10–20 steps downhill, but once you’re inside, the stillness and vibration make it feel timeless. Whether you’re religious or just seeking peace and reflection, this spot is a must-visit in Gokarna.

Lovely place. Around 5kms from Gokarna. You can take a auto or go by your own vehicle. Free street parking available. Walk around 300 mts from parking area. The place is beautiful. Very cool. Lots of smaller caves inside which are unexplored. Could be dangerous too. Good for photoshoot. Less known to people. Crowded a bit. So cant sit here for meditation. Free entry. No priest. It is an open Shiva temple inside the cave

It's ok place. Very remotely situaled and roads leading to it is in very bad shape. Very slippery in rainy days and if u have any elderly people travelling better avoid this. Entrance is small and stairs are there. There are bats inside but if young u can explore the same. The temple is peaceful inside but there are small caves inside as well. Overall ok and needs renovation.

This place is 300 m from the road. You have to take left from which is going towards Kudle beach. You need to do 200-300 m of hiking and they have given proper arrow mark to reach to that place. It is little dark while entering the cave, but when you reach they have hole on top to get light inside the cave.

Exactly like what I was expecting!! Only takes 50m trek to reach here, needs to use torch inside, beautiful Mahadeva’s temple inside. Be aware, do not use torch too much to other places and I heard the bat 🦇 voices too.

Gogarbha Cave Gokarna. The cave is an uphill climb from Kudle Beach and near the autorickshaw stand near the flight of steps from Kudle. Though the cave is not visible from the road, some signs point towards the cave. Also, there's always a good local willing to show you the way. The Shiva Cave has a myth associated with Ravana and Lord Ganesha. Traveller's tip- Carry a torch or use your phone torch as there are no lights inside the cave. The place is also a haunt of bats (though I didn't see a single one). It is also slippery and though no one is there to monitor, you are expected to leave your shoes Har Har mahadev🤲..

Beatutiful place for spiritual seekers and nature lovers alike. Unfortunately, we did not get a chance to sit down and enjoy stillness as there were people and groups coming in and out, but it is a must visit place to witness this ancient geological formation, see life inside it and a temple 🙏✨

This place is near to kudle beach. This place is shown correctly on the map. You have to walk 50 metres. Just follow the mark on the rock. This cave is nice. It has the shiva temple located inside. Place is very cool. It is very dark you need a flash. There are bat and honeybees but no need to worry just was silently. It has a ray of sunlight coming inside. Must visit place.

The Gogarbha Cave, hidden amidst the verdant landscapes of Karnataka, is a hidden gem that beckons explorers and history enthusiasts. This cave, though lesser-known, holds secrets of the past and offers a unique adventure. The journey to Gogarbha Cave is an adventure in itself, as it requires traversing through dense forests and rocky terrain. The excitement of discovery begins even before you reach the cave's entrance. The entrance to the cave is unassuming, and as you venture inside, you are greeted by a series of chambers and passageways. The cave's history is shrouded in mystery, and its ancient carvings, inscriptions, and rock-cut architecture are fascinating to behold. The cave is believed to have served as a hermitage for ascetics in centuries past, adding to its historical and spiritual significance. One of the most captivating aspects of the Gogarbha Cave is the sense of isolation and tranquility it offers. Far from the hustle and bustle of modern life, it provides a serene environment that invites contemplation and connection with nature. The surroundings of the cave are equally enchanting, with lush vegetation and the sound of flowing water adding to the natural beauty of the place. In summary, the Gogarbha Cave is a hidden treasure in Karnataka that beckons those seeking adventure and a glimpse into the past. It's a unique combination of natural beauty, historical significance, and an aura of solitude that makes it a compelling destination for explorers and history buffs.

Лучше приходить рано утром, когда нет людей. Возьмите арома палочки, тк в пещере стоит не очень приятный запах

The cave contains a Shiva Lingam surrounded by stunning scenery. It is believed there was a rivalry among the Trimurtis before the Cosmos was formed. The creator was to be the Tapasvi, followed by the preserver and then the destroyer. At the time, neither land nor water had been created. After intense tapasya, Brahma and Vishnu emerged a hundred years later.Maheshwar had not yet returned to Tapasya. They waited a long time before beginning to create the cosmos. Eventually, Lord Shiva was confined on Earth. He then appeared, harnessing his third eye's abilities. Thus, the cave-like edifice was discovered when emerging from the dirt. After doing penance at Mount Kailash and reciting a self-written Shiva-tandava-stotram, Ravana, the demon-king of Lanka got the Atma linga from Shiva. Shiva told Ravana that the holy Atma linga should never be set on the ground because it would take root wherever it was placed. As Ravana neared Gokarna, Vishnu veiled the sunlight with his Sudarshana Chakra, knowing that Ravana was prompt in executing his daily rituals (Sandyavandhana- Wheel). Ravana paused at Gokarna for his evening prayers.Because he had to be careful with the Atma linga, he wondered what to do. He spotted a Brahmin lad (in disguise as Lord Ganesha) and ordered him to carry the Atma linga in his hands till he returned after the procedures were completed. Lord Ganesha consented to keep the linga solely on a single condition: he would be doing so till he could handle the weight of the linga and then summon Ravana 3 times, and if he did not appear before, he would cast the linga on the ground. When Ravana was executing his ceremonies, Lord Ganesha hurriedly summoned him three times, laid the linga on the soil, and fled. The Atma linga became firmly embedded in the soil almost immediately. Ravana realized that the Gods had deceived him.Ravana attempted to free it, resulting in the Linga's covers being thrown to the temples of Surathkal, Dhareshwar, Gunavanteshwar, Murudeshwar, and Shejjeshwar; however, the Gokarna Lingam did not budge. It just twisted into the appearance of a cow's ear and this is how the Shiva Caves and Mahabaleshwar Temple came into existence.

This place is few meter away from kudle beach parking lot with short walk to cave. This is one of the finest place I’ve seen in Gokarna. While entering the cave we just feel like stepping into a surprise then actually when we witness the lord it feels like heaven. Do visit and enjoy the nature. #donotlitters #keepclean

Cave is absolutely mesmerising. You have to park the vehicle around the roadside and walk for 2 to 3 minutes to reach the cave and also make sure you take some good source of light because it is extremely pitch black dark inside the cave and the mobile phone flashlight doesn’t work much, overall it’s beautiful experience.
