We decided to take the family out for Eid lunch at one of the seafood restaurants in Sharjah. Given Sharjah’s massive and well-known fish market, I expected freshness to be a given. Unfortunately, our experience was mixed — some positives, but quite a few letdowns. Parking is a real issue. It’s paid, very limited, and hard to find. If you’re planning to come in multiple cars with a big group, plan ahead — this can easily become frustrating before the meal even starts. When we arrived, I was surprised to see only 1.27 KG of shrimp, one lobster, and a couple of fish on display — not a great selection, especially during a festive occasion like Eid. I asked the staff if there were more shrimp available, and one gentleman said they had some in the fridge at the back. I requested to see them first to check for freshness — sadly, half of them smelled off and didn’t look fresh at all. We ordered a mix of dishes: dynamite shrimp, grilled and fried shrimp, calamari, mussels, fish, rice, and French fries. The bill came to around AED 600 for 3 adults and 3 kids, which felt overpriced considering the quality. The dynamite shrimp were tiny and the sauce was completely off — 0/10. Grilled and fried shrimp were tasteless, and the heads were falling apart — it honestly felt like we were served the unfresh batch kept in the back, not the ones on display. Grilled calamari came overloaded with onions and wasn’t tasty. The fried calamari were okay. The mussels were decent, with a cheesy sauce — probably one of the few items I’d consider ordering again, along with the fish, rice, and fries, which were enjoyable. One positive: they offered us a large bowl of salad for free — a kind gesture and appreciated. Overall, this place has potential but needs to improve freshness, variety, and pricing. Not sure I’d return unless things change.
