Stopped by for the ranger chats and it was so fun. Learned about exoplanets and different forms of life in the Lehman caves. Best experience ever viewing telescopes! The moon looked so close you could see mountains and valleys. The visitors center has red LED flashlights, which is needed to walk the park at night.

I only dropped in on my way west, but will plan a return trip and do some hiking. A truly stunning mountain range. I did the scenic drive which was beautiful indeed, and visited the Lehman Caves VC. I was a bit disappointed that the cave tours were limited, but I understand why. Nice little cafe, with actual food, not just snacks, and nice displays and movie. Definitely coming back 👌

It’s def out of the way and one of the more remote parks out there but it certainly does have a unique charm. Unfortunately I could only make it out during mid march and the caves were closed and most of the roads were closed for the winter season. But you get an idea of how special and unique it can be in the summer. The caves, the hikes and the night sky should be enough to make you want to make the drive out! Honestly, the drive through the flat basin was very peaceful and easy to get in. The ranger was helpful and suggested our day activities! Worth the drive out!

One of the few free national parks 🏞️ you most definitely need to visit. ⛰️ Such beautiful areas to appreciate; definitely take the time to trek & explore. Located not far from Baker, NV, it is quite remote, so plan accordingly.

Took us a while to get here on roads that reminded me of Rango but it was worth it. Our campsite was so dark we could see so many stars. Extremely calm and the hike to reach the bristlecones is great

One of my favorite National Parks! Not super crowded and the views and ambiance was incredible! Looking to plan a primitive camping trip to check out the park for a few more days!

Great Basin is a magical oasis in the middle of the desert. It is a worth the trip with clear night sky views, trout fishing in small streams, some of the oldest trees in the world, and hikes to alpine lakes.

The hike up the Bristlecone Pine Trail to the glacier was beautiful. The trail was well maintained. You can jog a lot of it, but I'm glad I wrore 3/4 hight boots for the larger stones nearer the top of the hike. (10,913' at the trail end) There was a short 0.15 mile spur to a tiny lake that had a view that made it with the extra couple minutes. Pit toilets at the trailhead if you wondered.) the loot was almost full when I arrived at about 10 AM and over full (people using"extra" space) to park when I got back to the lot at 1PM.

It’s quite a drive to get to the park, but it’s worth it. Very nice staff and well maintained facilities. As of 5/25, there was very little snow left on the Bristlecone trail. And the Lehman cave is definitely a must do here

Unique park to visit in the summer/early fall. It’s out of the way but well-worth it. The summer night sky from the wheeler scenic drive pullouts is the best I’ve ever seen. Wheeler peak summit is a tough but rewarding trail. The bristlecones are neat, given their age and rarity. The caves are an easy and high-yield activity.

Everyone needs to visit this park. So many great hiking trails. The Bristlecone Pine Trail was our favorite. The grove of bristlecone pines inspires such reverence. We recommend Mather Overlook for great views of the glacier. We also had stunning views on the Osceola Ditch Trail. The ranger-led astronomy talk was awesome. Thank you Ranger Sam and Ranger Wes. It was amazing to drive through all the ecosystems on the Wheeler Peak Scenic Drive. Everyone in the town of Baker was warm and welcoming. We enjoyed the night skies, the quiet, and the opportunity to relax.

This is an out of the way national park but certainly worth it. There's a lot of variety in things to do: caves, desert hikes, alpine hikes, and astronomy. The top of the park also offers a cool respite to the otherwise desert atmosphere.

The National Park is beyond stunning. Great visitors center with friendly staff. There is a video presentation that was well worth watching. The scenic byway up to Mount Wheeler was closed but the Mather Point lookout offered great views. Lehman Cave didn't have any available tours for about 6 more weeks. The campgrounds are beautiful too but not big rig friendly.

What a beautiful national park! I was impressed on my first visit, which was a day trip. The park road to Mt Wheeler ends at 10,000-ft elevation, well below the peak. We hiked from there to Stella Lake and a bit higher. The wildflowers were beautiful, the views were awesome. I'll be back for more!

Beautiful! Absolutely loved it! Hiking, caves, star gazing and camping! Perfect for a quick weekend camp. Worth the drive to this amazing park. So many incredible hikes, ranging from easy to difficult. Plenty for the adventurous type or a family with young kids. The drive to top (Wheeler point parking) is about 35 mins, has a few look out points and beautiful views. At the top an easy yet fun hike is the Alpine Loop Trail. Both lakes are set in a beautiful and scenic location up around an elevation of 10,000ft. If you plan on going on the Lehman Caves, plan a head and get tickets. They can sell out fast.

This National Park is one of the smallest National Parks and very secluded. This, there are not that many visitors. This being said, the park itself is wonderful and a must-see for everyone who loves nature, mountains, hiking and more.

A NP to see. It is really out there. Saw a couple deer. The night sky was amazing! Went to a ranger talk one evening. Plan ahead to reserve the cave tour. Reserve a campsite too. We stayed at Upper Lehman campground. Bring everything you need/want, a cute market in Baker, but not enough for daily supplies(we got mustard). They also have lattes and cookies. Cute shop, support local!

This was an cool park but very limited in Mid-October. Most of the scenic drive was closed and only a few hikes at bottom were accessible. While enjoyed it, it was challenging and didn’t get to see the most scenic parts due to the snow.
