We tried the liver shish and mumbar at Hayal Kurdish Çiğköfte, and everything was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were very friendly. It was a really enjoyable experience overall—definitely a place I would recommend!

Absolutely loved this place and we can't wait to come back! We've never had Kurdish food and boy were we in for a treat. When I saw the menu I thought a lot was similar to Turkish food and foods that I've tried at Turkish restaurants, you don't even need to go to Turkish restaurants anymore because wow 10/10 the flavours blew our tastebuds out of the water. Don't believe me? Try it yourself. For a little less than $85 (with tax and 25% tip) it fed my husband and I and we had leftovers for at least 1 more person both as an entree and a dessert (and that complimentary tea was delicious, very smooth). We ordered a United Nations Tray for 1 (more like for 3!) a Beef and cheese pide, and a Knuefe for dessert (they apologized for the wait ??? But it was only maybe 7-10 minutes! Because they were frying it up fresh). We were in for a treat the moment we walked in. The love they put into the atmosphere, comfy (and nice looking) chairs, beautiful wood tables. Even the washroom felt upscale (with a bidet to boot!). We asked about a highchair since I didn't notice one around and they said they keep them in the back, so we are looking forward to bringing our baby. I went to Hayal Kurdish Çigkofte Restaurant and absolutely loved it. The food was delicious, and the music really made me feel like I was back home. I especially appreciated that the kitchen is open and visible from the seating area—you can clearly see how clean it is, which made me feel very comfortable. The staff were very kind and attentive. A Must-Visit: Authentic, Flavorful, and Incredibly Welcoming! I had a wonderful dinner at Hayal Kurdish Restaurant on Wilson Avenue last night, and I'm already planning my next visit! The atmosphere was so warm and inviting. It feels less like a restaurant and more like you're a welcome guest in someone's home. But the food... wow! We started with a selection of mezzes, and that were bursting with fresh, bright flavours. The bread served alongside it was warm, pillowy, and great for dipping. For the main course, I went with the grilled kebab platters, and it was cooked quite well. The meat was tender, juicy, and seasoned with a delicious, aromatic spices that were flavorful without being overwhelming. You can just tell that everything is made with so much care and quality ingredients. The service was just as fantastic as the food. The staff was genuinely friendly, and happy to offer recommendations. Hayal is a true gem on Kurdish cuisine. If you're looking for authentic Kurdish cuisine, amazing flavors, and a place that makes you feel welcome, you have to try it. I will definitely be back!

I stopped by Hayal Kurdish Cigkofte Restaurant for the first time and was immediately struck by the warmth of the place. A mother and daughter were running everything — the mother cooking in the back, and the daughter taking orders and serving. They were both so kind and welcoming, happy to explain the menu and even gave me a sample of their çiğ köfte to try — which was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Ali Nazik kebab (also called Alinazik), and honestly, I might order it every time I come back. It’s such a comforting, craveable dish — smoky eggplant purée mixed with yoghurt, topped with tender lamb stew. It’s creamy and rich but still feels fresh and balanced. I believe it’s traditionally served with rice pilaf, but I enjoyed it just as it was, straight from the plate with a fork. I also had the dolmas, which were wrapped nice and thin just the way I like them — and they were super flavourful. I also tried the acılı ezme which was super refreshing and had a great little kick. Everything was homemade, and you could feel the care behind the food. I’m already looking forward to going back. Highly recommend if you're looking for something real and made with heart.

Hayal Xanim Cox Sagol ! I had a wonderful experience here. The food was absolutely delicious, and the owner, Hayal, is such a kind and welcoming person. You can really feel the care and love put into both the service and the dishes. I truly hope more people discover this place and support this lovely family-run business. It deserves all the attention for its tasty food and warm atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Had a fantastic experience at this Kurdish restaurant with the family today. The food was authentic and full of flavour—everything was well-seasoned and made with care. The presentation was beautiful, with each plate thoughtfully arranged. The staff were warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Excellent service from start to finish. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a genuine and delicious taste of Kurdish food.

My first time eating Kurdish food and I notice a lot of similarities to Turkish , Afghani, Irani and Arab foods. The restaurant was clean and offered authentic style menu. Didn’t have chicken doner and offered beef one which was delicious, it was soft and had generous filling. I also love a place that offers complimentary tea and this spot did not disappoint. The lentil soup has a home-made touch which was lovely.

I ordered cig kofte wrap, manti and a Diet Coke through DoorDash. First of all, the order already took forever to be prepared the delivery driver was waiting over 10 minutes at the restaurant. I had to call them to see what was going on and if the food was ready! Now the real problem: I CLEARLY left a note saying I only wanted pickles, tomatoes, little lettuce and pomegranate sauce in my wrap because I am ALLERGIC to red cabbage. What did I receive? A wrap filled with red cabbage, lettuce and tomatoes basically made however they felt like making it, not how I ordered it. This is not a “small mistake.” This is dangerous. If I hadn’t noticed the red cabbage before eating it I could’ve ended up in the hospital. Consider yourselves lucky this is the kind of negligence people get sued for! To make things worse: I ordered a Diet Coke and received sparkling water instead The mantı had HAIR in it Absolutely disgusting. A restaurant that doesn’t listen to customer instructions messes up basic drinks and serves food with hair in it deserves ZERO stars. You can’t even handle a simple DoorDash order properly that’s honestly embarrassing for any restaurant. Extremely disappointing, careless, and unsafe. Never ordering again.

This is such a nice restaurant. Wherever I go, I visit Kurdish restaurants for my work as a food writer. The food here was very good. What surprised me is that it was authentic and tasted like a Kurdish mum prepared it. Which in fact is true knowing the owner is a Kurdish mum. :) my parents and I really enjoyed our visit and would recommend everyone to eat here. Only minus point is that it is not very centrally located. Still, if you want to try real Kurdish food, this is the place.

Small place (7 tables) not loud, amazing food and friendly staff. Portions are large but if you can't finish it it's worth taking home. For the platter most places dry out the chicken but this was delicious moist on the inside and crunch, smokey flavour on the outside. Their house made baklava is crunchy and not too sweet. The plaza has limited parking but you can park around the corner. Definitely with visiting with friends and family.

We went today party of 8 the staff were extremely friendly professional and even called us when we were late for our reservation. The food was delicious, big portions and fresh. the attendant she was very sweet and nice. Really good and authentic Kurdish food ❤️ . clean place the girls loved the shawarma wraps. I had a wonderful experience at Hayalçi Köfte in Toronto. The food was absolutely delicious, and I really enjoyed every dish. The customer service was outstanding, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely love to come back again and highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. A special recommendation goes to their paça soup — it was excellent and a must-try!

The rice is spoiled. Not bad tasting, literally spoiled. It smells rotten. Highly deadly as well due to the bacteria. Simply unacceptable. I’m very disappointed but more so sad because this threatens my health and is not a light issue

I’m not an expert in Middle Eastern cuisine but I do love my food. This place has the best Kurdish food that I know of! Had the Beef Doner plate, the gentle flavor and texture of the beef was pleasantly surprising. The very friendly staff recommended the store-made lemonade, which was out-of-this-world, a must try!

The food quality was excellent, and the service was top-notch. The waiter was polite, friendly, and completely professional, which made our experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this restaurant

The atmosphere of is comfortable with tables and chairs. They were able to accommodate about a dozen of us. FOOD Cigkofte is vegetarian and made with Bulgar, spices and tomatoes…kind of glad that it wasn’t meat(or raw meat). Mumbar that we tried was stuffed intestines with rice. We didn’t really like it as much and we expected a more flavourful taste. Liver was grilled too much, but that may be the cook who seemed young. Adana kebab was good, but could be seasoned and spiced better. Iskender was good, and probably one of the better options. Parking Currently lots of roadwork around the area, so parking was not easy.

One of the best, Indeed the Best Kurdish Restaurant. I forgot to the photos of some other items that me and my wife ate, but I took the Photo of their wonderful tea and super tasty Kunefa. Their Soup, Pide, Lamachun.... everything tastes very very good. We were served by Ms NARA and she was simply Great. Highly recommended place, will come back again
